  • VBScript: Passing Object to Function?

    - by ioplex

  • Passing Results from SQL to Google Maps API in CodeIgniter

    - by Jason Shultz
    I'm hoping to use google maps on my site. My addresses are stored in a db. I’m pulling up a page where the information is all dynamic. For example: mysite.com/site/business/5 (where 5 is the id of the business). Let’s say I do a query like this: function addressForMap($id) { $this->db->select(‘b.id, b.busaddress, b.buscity, b.buszip’); $this->db->from(‘business as b’); $this->db->where(‘b.id, $id); } How can I output the info to the google maps api correctly so that it display’s the map appropriately? The API interface takes the results like this: $marker['address'] = 'Crescent Park, Palo Alto';

  • JNI: Passing multiple parameters in the function signature for GetMethodID

    - by Jary
    I am trying to execute a function in Java (from C) that has the following signature: public void execute(int x, int y, int action); My problem is to define the function signature in GetMethodID: env->GetMethodID(hostClass, "execute", "(I;I;I;)V"); The problem I ma getting is: W/dalvikvm( 1849): Bogus method descriptor: (I;I;I;)V W/dalvikvm( 1849): Bogus method descriptor: (I;I;I;)V D/dalvikvm( 1849): GetMethodID: method not found: Lcom/device/client/HostConnection;.execute:(I;I;I;)V I am not sure how to specify the method signature in GetMethodID (for 3 integers as parameters). I saw people use the ";" to separate parameters in other posts for the String and File class, but nothing with primitives like integer. What would be the correct way to do this please? Thank you.

  • Passing parameters to a delphi TFrame

    - by ajob
    To avoid singletons and global variables I'd like to be able to pass parameters to a TFrame component. However since a TFrame normally is included on form at design time it is only possible to use the default constructor. The parent form can of course set some properties in the OnCreate callback after the TFrame has been created. However this does not ensure that a property is not forgotten, and the dependencies are not as clear as using a constructor. A nice way would be if it was possible to register a factory for creating components while the dfm file is being read. Then the required parameters could be passed to the TFrame constructor when created by the factory. Is there a way of accomplishing this? Or does anyone have a better solution on how to pass parameters to a TFrame?

  • Passing Auth to API calls with Web Service References

    - by coffeeaddict
    I am new to web services. The last time I dealt with SOAP was when I created a bunch of wrapper classes that sent requests and received responses back per some response objects/classes I had created. So I had an object to send certain API requests and likewise a set of objects to hold the response back as an object so I could utilize that 3rd party API. Then someone came to me and said why not just use the wsdl and a web service. Ok, so today I went and created a "Service Reference". I see that this is what's called a "Proxy Class". You just instantiate an instance of this and then walla you have access to all the methods from the wsdl. But this leaves me with auth questions. Back when I created my own classes manually, I had a class which exposed properties that I would set then access for things like signature, username, password that got sent along with the Http request that were required by whatever 3rd party API I was using to make API calls. But then with using a Service Reference, how then would I pass this information just like I had done in my custom classes? For instance I'm going to be working with the PayPal API. It requires you to send a signature and a few other pieces of information like username and password. // Determins if API call needs to use a session based URI string requestURI = UseAuthURI == true ? _requestURIAuthBased + aSessionID : _requestURI; byte[] data = XmlUtil.DocumentToBytes(doc); // Create the atual Request instance HttpWebRequest request = CreateWebRequest(requestURI, data.Length); So how do I pass username, password, signature, etc. when using web service references for each method call? Is it as simple as specifying it as a param to the method or do you use the .Credentials and .URL methods of your proxy class object? It seems to me Credentials means windows credentials but I could be wrong. Is it limited to that or can you use that to specify those required header values that PayPal expects with each method call/API request?

  • Passing a 'var' into another method

    - by Danny
    Hi, I am probably totally missing the point here but.... How can I pass a 'var' into another method? (I am using linq to load XML into an Enumerable list of objects). I have differernt object types (with different fields), but the final step of my process is the same regardless of which object is being used. XNamespace xmlns = ScehmaName; var result = from e in XElement.Load(XMLDocumentLocation).Elements(xmlns + ElementName) select new Object1 { Field1 = (string)e.Element(xmlns + "field1"), Field2 = (string)e.Element(xmlns + "field2") }; var result2 = Enumerable.Distinct(result); This code will vary for the different type of XML files that will be processed. But I then want to iterate though the code to check for various issues: foreach (var w in result2) { if (w.CheckIT()) { //do something } } What I would love is the final step to be in a method in the base class, and I can pass the 'var' varible into it from each child class.

  • Passing a 2D array to a function in C

    - by Tyler Treat
    I have, essentially, a matrix of data (lets say ints) that I would like to store in a 2D array in which the dimensions are not known until runtime (say x columns and y rows). I want to populate the array in a function, so I assume I need to do something like this: int main(int argc, char **argv) { int y = atoi(argv[1]); int x = atoi(argv[2]); int **matrix = malloc(x * sizeof(int*)); populateMatrix(matrix, y, x); return 0; } void populateMatrix(**matrix, int y, int x) { int i, j; for (i = 0; i < y; i++) { for (j = 0; j < x; j++) { matrix[i][j] = i * j; // populated with trivial data to keep it simple } } } Obviously this doesn't work, but I'm not sure how to do what I'm describing exactly.

  • Passing data between Drupal module callback, preprocess and template

    - by rob5408
    I've create a module called finder that I want to take parameters from a url, crunch them and then display results via a tpl file. here's the relevant functions... function finder_menu() { $items = array(); $items['finder'] = array( 'page callback' => 'finder_view', 'access callback' => TRUE, ); return $items; } function finder_theme($existing, $type, $theme, $path) { return array( 'finder_view' => array( 'variables' => array('providers' => null), 'template' => 'results', ), ); } function finder_preprocess_finder_view(&$variables) { // put my data into $variables } function finder_view($zipcode = null) { // Get Providers from Zipcode return theme('finder_view', $providers); } Now I know finder_view is being called. I also know finder_preprocess_finder_view is being called. Finally, I know that result.tpl.php is being used to output. But I cannot wrap my head around how to do meaningful work in the callback, somehow make that data available in the preprocessor to add to "variables" so that i can access in the tpl file. in a situation where you are using a tpl file is the callback even useful for anything? I've done this in the past where the callback does all the work and passes to a theming function, but i want to use a file for output instead this time. Thanks...

  • Passing variable from main to Async class

    - by Bigflow
    Somehow, I can't get this done. This is all what I tried till now: Main: private String myState; public String getState() { return myState; } public void setState(String s) { myState = s; } Async: Main appState = ((Main)getApplicationContext()); String state = appState.getState(); Error: No enclosing instance of the type Main is accessible in scope Tried with Helper(Globals) class. public class Globals extends Application{ private String test= "1"; } Main: private Globals mGlobals; mGlobals = new Globals(); mGlobals.test = "2"; //Do Async thing Async: private Globals mGlobals; mGlobals = new Globals(); print mGlobals.test; // (result is 1, should be 2) Also something else, but don't remember good. • opening a new page and passing a parameter to it with Javascript

    - by recipriversexclusion
    I have a JS function that processes XML I GET from a server to dynamically create a table as below // Generate table of services by parsing the returned XML service list. function convertServiceXmlDataToTable(xml) { var tbodyElem = document.getElementById("myTbody"); var trElem, tdElem; var j = 0; $(xml).find("Service").each(function() { trElem = tbodyElem.insertRow(tbodyElem.rows.length); trElem.className = "tr" + (j % 2); // first column -> service ID var serviceID = $(this).attr("service__id"); tdElem = trElem.insertCell(trElem.cells.length); tdElem.className = "col0"; tdElem.innerHTML = serviceID; // second column -> service name tdElem = trElem.insertCell(trElem.cells.length); tdElem.className = "col1"; tdElem.innerHTML = "<a href=javascript:showServiceInfo(" + serviceID + ")>" + $(this).find("name").text() + "</a>"; j++; }); // each service } where showServiceInfo retrieves more detailed information about each service from the server based on the serviceID and displays it in the same page as the services table. So far so good. But, it turns out that I have to display the detailed service information in another page rather than the same page as the table. I have creates a generic service_info.html with an empty layout template, but I don't understand how to pass serviceID to this new page so that it gets customized with the detailed service info. How can I do this? Or, is there a better way to handle these situations? Thanks!

  • Problem with passing parameters to SQL procedure using VBA

    - by Stefan Åstrand
    Hi, I am trying to pass @intDocumentNo and @intCustomerNo to a stored procedure using VBA but only @intCustomerNo is updated in dbo.tblOrderHead. I don't think the problem is with the procedure because if I enter the values manually it runs properly. What am I doing wrong? VBA Code: Private Sub intCustomerNo_Click() Dim cmdCommand As New ADODB.Command With cmdCommand .ActiveConnection = CurrentProject.Connection .CommandType = adCmdStoredProc .CommandText = "uspSelectCustomer" '@intDocumentNo .Parameters("@intDocumentNo").Value = Forms![frmSalesOrder].[IntOrderNo] '@intCustomerNo .Parameters("@intCustomerNo").Value = Me![intCustomerNo] .Execute End With DoCmd.Close Forms![frmSalesOrder].Requery End Sub Procedure: UPDATE dbo.tblOrderHead SET dbo.tblOrderHead.intCustomerNo = @intCustomerNo , dbo.tblOrderHead.intPaymentCode = dbo.tblCustomer.intPaymentCode, dbo.tblOrderHead.txtDeliveryCode = dbo.tblCustomer.txtDeliveryCode, dbo.tblOrderHead.txtRegionCode = dbo.tblCustomer.txtRegionCode, dbo.tblOrderHead.txtCurrencyCode = dbo.tblCustomer.txtCurrencyCode, dbo.tblOrderHead.txtLanguageCode = dbo.tblCustomer.txtLanguageCode FROM dbo.tblOrderHead INNER JOIN dbo.tblCustomer ON dbo.tblOrderHead.intCustomerNo = dbo.tblCustomer.intCustomerNo AND dbo.tblOrderHead.intOrderNo = @intDocumentNo

  • Problem passing variables in php form.

    - by Joshxtothe4
    I have the following php form. I am trying to make it so that when the form is loaded, the values will be assigned the appropriate check- variable. This variable will contain either "checked or "". If it contains checked, the way it is displayed with the html should cause the relevant checkbox to be checked. As it is, the variables do not seem to be being passed. When I echo out $deleted or $notice from within the submitinfo branch, they are blank. Furthermore, nothing is being inserted into the database, and I am not getting any database error. How can I check this? <?php if (isset($_GET["cmd"])) $cmd = $_GET["cmd"]; else if (isset($_POST["cmd"])) $cmd = $_POST["cmd"]; else die("Invalid URL"); if (isset($_GET["pk"])) { $pk = $_GET["pk"]; } if (isset($_POST["deleted"])) { $deleted = $_POST["deleted"]; } if (isset($_POST["notice"])) { $notice = $_POST["notice"]; } $con = mysqli_connect("localhost","user","password", "db"); if (!$con) { echo "Can't connect to MySQL Server. Errorcode: %s\n". mysqli_connect_error(); exit; } $con->set_charset("utf8"); $getformdata = $con->query("select * from STATUS where ARTICLE_NO = '$pk'"); $checkDeleted = ""; $checkNotice = ""; while ($row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($getformdata)) { $checkDeleted = $row['deleted']; $checkNotice = $row['notice']; } if($cmd=="submitinfo") { $statusQuery = "INSERT INTO STATUS VALUES (?, ?)"; if ($statusInfo = $con->prepare($statusQuery)) { $statusInfo->bind_param("ss", $deleted, $notice); $statusInfo->execute(); $statusInfo->close(); echo "true"; } else { echo "false"; } print_r($con->error); } if($cmd=="EditStatusData") { echo "<form name=\"statusForm\" action=\"test.php\" method=\"post\" enctype=\"multipart/form-data\"> <h1>Editing information for auction: ".$pk."</h1> Löschung Ebay: <input type=\"checkbox\" name=\"deleted\" value=\"checked\" ".$checkDeleted." /> <br /> Abmahnung: <input type=\"checkbox\" name=\"notice\" value=\"checked\" ".$checkNotice." /> <br /> <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"cmd\" value=\"submitinfo\" /> <input name=\"Submit\" type=\"submit\" value=\"submit\" /> </form>"; } else { print_r($con->error); }

  • Passing information safely between Wicket and Hibernate in long running conversations

    - by Peter Tillemans
    We are using Wicket with Hibernate in the background. As part of out UI we have quite long running conversations spanning multiple requests before the updated information is written back to the database. To avoid getting hibernate errors with detached objects we are now using value objects to transfer info from the service layer to Wicket. However we now end up with an explosion of almost the same objects : e.g. Answer (mapped entity saved in hibernate) AnswerVO (immutable value object) AnswerModel (A mutable bean in the session domain) IModel wrapped Wicket Model and usually this gets wrapped in a CompoundPropertyModel This plumbing becomes exponentially worse when collections to other objects are involved in the objects. There has to be a better way to organize this. Can anyone share tips to make this less onerous? Maybe make the value objects mutable so we can remove the need for a seaprate backing bean in Wicket? Use the entity beans but absolutely make dead-certain they are detached from hibernate. (easier said than done)? Some other tricks or patterns?

  • passing values to pages

    - by Indranil Mutsuddy
    Hello friends, What i am trying here is to pass values to other pages. When i include the following code private void Button1_Click(object sender, System.EventArgs e) { // Value sent using HttpResponse Response.Redirect("WebForm5.aspx?Name="+txtName.Text); } if (Request.QueryString["Name"]!= null) Response.write( Request.QueryString["Name"]); everything works fine the name gets displayed. Now if use MemberId instead, though i can see the Id in the Url, but while checking for Null in other page, its true. Whats wrong?? Now I tried the same thing using session i.e. Session["MemberId"] = this.TxtEnterMemberId.Text; if (MemberSex.Equals("M")) Response.Redirect("PatientDetailsMale.aspx",false ); Page_load event of the other page if (Session["MemberId"] != null) mid = Session["MemberId"].ToString(); IT Works..Could u guys explain the behaviour please? P.S. Can anyone give a breif in layman words about SessionId and its usage. Thanking you, Indranil

  • Passing values from UIButton to an UIActionSheet

    - by Michael
    I'm trying to send an ActionSheet a variable from a button. I can't use the tag property because its being used for something else. I've declared myIndexRow as an instance variable and have: NSInteger myIndexRow = indexPath.row; [deleteButton addTarget:self action:@selector(showDeleteSheet:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside]; deleteButton.myIndexRow = myIndexRow; but I'm getting the 'Request for member 'myRow' is something not a structure or union' There is something obvious I am missing here.

  • Passing an array for setting variable

    - by mathk
    Hi, I often see this idiom when reading php code: public function __construct($config) { if (array_key_exists('options', $config)) { ... } if (array_key_exists('driver_options', $config)) { ... } } Here I am concern with the way the parameter is used. If I were in lisp I would do: (defun ct (&key options driver_options) (do-something-with-option-and-driver_option)) But since I am in PHP I would rather have a constructor that take a list of parameter and let them be null if there a not require. So what do you guys think about having an array as parameter in other to do some initialization-or-whatever? In other to answer you have to take in account the point of view of the user of the function and the designer of the API. Also have you ever heard this has a code-smell? thanks

  • Problem Passing Variable to Submit Form in Firefox

    - by George
    In the following example, I have a link that sends a variable to a function which checks if the variable is true and, if so, submits a form on the page. This has been tested and works in IE, Safari, and Chrome, but not Firefox. Trying to figure out what's wrong in Firefox. The function which checks 'action' and then submits form 'login' : function submit(action) { if (action == "submit") { document.login.submit(); } } Link to pass action variable and submit form: <a href="javascript:submit('submit');">SEND FORM</a> When I remove the check and just have the following, it works fine in Firefox: function submit() { document.login.submit(); } <a href="javascript:submit();">SEND FORM</a>

I've never passed a function name as an arguement before. Where am I going wrong? p.s. sorry about the formatting of code above, I can't seems to get SO to show parts of the code as code.
