  A few of my non-IT coworkers opened a .html attachment in an email message that looks extremely suspicious. • TextField - behave like PowerPoint

  I have a Dynamic TextField created with ActionScript (multiline, wordwrap & autosize=true). While running the SWF, if you click into the TextField you get an arrow "move" cursor, then you can double-click to put it into Edit mode to select text. I want it to work like PowerPoint - if you click into the box you'll always get a flashing cursor with the ability to select/insert text, and you can click on the borders to drag, or the corners to resize. I tried adding the focusIn event textField.stage.focus = this.textField but this didn't seem to do anything. When you click into the textField, I basically want it to act as though you followed with a double-click (Edit mode) without actually having to do the double-click. Bonus: and instead of a 2nd double-click returning you to the Move mode (or whatever it's called) I want to select all text. TL;DR: Is there some property of a Dynamic TextField that I can get/set to see if I'm in Edit or Move mode?

• JQuery Autocomplete only suggesting first row

  I'm doing research using JQuery's Autocomplete plugin and Google Maps' API. What I have so far is located here. I'm using Asp.net MVC to generate the list of potential address matches (limited to US addresses only) and presenting them as a pipe-delimeted list to Autocomplete, which is supposed to be .spliting them up and suggesting them to the user. The problem I'm having (besides a stubborn IE-only javascript error, which I'll break into another question), is that only the first result is suggested. This page clearly shows two results, yet typing "3118" into the textbox produces only the Galax Dr result. How can I get Automplete to produce both results?

• Send HTTP Post with default browser with C#

  Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to send POST data with the default browser of a computer in C#. Here is the situation. My client would like the ability to have their C# application open their browser and send client information to a webform. This webform would be behind a login screen. The assumption from the application side is that once the client data is sent to the login screen, the login screen would pass that information onto the webform to prepopulate it. This would be done over HTTPS and the client would like this to be done with a POST and not a GET as client information would be sent as plain text. I have found some wonderful solutions that do POSTS and handle the requests.   Hi, I got a crash dump (both mdmp and hdmp) for my application (written in C++) captured using dr. watson. After analyzing the dumps through windbg, I concluded that the crash had occurred in the catch() itself :) What I need to know is what exception caused the the failure in the first place i.e. I need that penultimate(last but one th) exception that had occurred. I know I could get the same by some other ways, but is there a specific command with which we could get the list of errors\exceptions occurring from the dump file. Thanks. --Samrat Patil

• Honor Whitespace padding to display columns in fixed width <select>

The problem is the whitespace is contracted so that the columsn don't line up. SAme results in FF, IE6 and Chrome. What am I missing?

• Need help making row of buttons consistent

  I'm making my first website, and I'm trying to make variable-sized buttons so they'll render correctly on low resolution (read: mobile) browsers. Currently I just have the usual rollover image solution (185 pixels wide by 37 tall if anybody cares), but when I preview the site in low resolution it looks, predictably enough, like complete crap (more specifically they don't have room so they arrange vertically instead of horizontally and take up a huge amount of screen real estate). Semi-related, is there a way to overlay text on a button without saving separate images, each with the correct text? Just using a single template for buttons and then deciding what text goes on it as it's needed? tl;dr: I'm trying to get a horizontal lineup of buttons for navigating my website, but I'm a noob and I can't do it right without your generous assistance.

• ASP.NET Excel Export formatting question

  Hey Guys, I've been banging my head on the wall over this issue for a couple days now and I need some help. I'm creating an excel file using ASP.net and everything is going just fine except one column has to be formatted as a decimal to 2 places but when it pulls into excel, excel automatically formats it as a whole number instead of keeping the decimal places. sw.Write(String.Format("{0:f}", CDbl(dr(14)).ToString("0.00"))) this produces "20.00" but when I open it in excel it's displayed as 20...if I select the whole column and format it as a number it gets displayed as 20.00 like it's supposed to but I don't want to have to do this (I can't do that) the file is supposed to be automatically picked up and imported into another system that needs the column to be a decimal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I am using the ObservableSortedDictionary from Dr. WPF. The constructor looks like this: public ObservableSortedDictionary(IComparer<DictionaryEntry> comparer) I am really struggling to create an implementation that satisfies the constructor and works. My current code (that won't compile) is: public class TimeCreatedComparer<T> : IComparer<T> { public int Compare(T x, T y) { var myclass1 = (IMyClass)((DictionaryEntry)x).Value; var myclass2 = (IMyClass)((DictionaryEntry)y).Value; return myclass1.TimeCreated.CompareTo(myclass2.TimeCreated); } } It says I can't cast from T to DictionaryEntry. If I cast directly to IMyClass, it compiles, but I get a runtime error saying I can't cast from DictionaryEntry to IMyClass. At runtime, x and y are instances of DictionaryEntry, which each have the correct IMyClass as their Value.

• QML 5.3 iOS compilation of pure QML app

  I have an application written in QML. So, it comes to one risk that I wanted to ask about. If I convert the app to a pure QML application like the kind generated by the Qt Quick UI application wizard with no C++ and designed to be run with qmlscene will I be able to compile it for iOS when the time to port it comes or will I end up just converting it back to the C++ loader form? TL;DR Can pure QML (no C++) apps be compiled and run on iOS devices?

• What tech stack/platform to use for a project?

  Hey guys, This is a bit of a weird meta-programming question, but I've realized that my new project doesn't need a full MVC framework, and being a rails guy, I'm not sure what to use now. To give you a gist of the necessary functionality; this website will display static pages, but users will be able to log in and 'edit their current plans'. All purchasing and credit card editing is being handled by a recurring payment subscriber, I just need a page to edit their current plan. All of that will be done through (dynamic) XML API calls, so no database is necessary. Should I stick with my typical rails/nginx stack, or is there something I could use that would lighten the load, since I don't need the Rails heft. I'm familiar with python and PHP but would prefer not to go that route. Is Sinatra a good choice here? tl;dr: What's a good way to quickly serve mostly static pages, preferably in Ruby, with some pages requiring dynamic XML rendering?

• Looking to eventually build a smartphone app...

  Hi all- I'm a young, inexperienced programmer (I've had a year of Java, some MATLAB, and HTML/CSS in school) but I've decided that to get better, I'm making it my goal to produce a simple smartphone app of some kind this year- probably either webOS or Android since I'm on a PC and can't afford a Mac just to write an iPhone app. So my question is, where do I start? I've read the threads about How to Write for Android and such, but I'm not sure I have enough Java experience to just jump right in. And then there's webOS which is based on JavaScript, correct? I guess I'd just like some input from more experienced folks. I have some Barnes and Noble book credit I'm looking to get rid of too, so if there's a guide you think would be useful, feel free to request. tl;dr: Programming newbie ultimately wants to build a simple smartphone app. Where do I start?

  First of all, thank you for looking at this question. For a school assignment we're supposed to create a BFS algorithm and use it to do various things. One of these things is that we're supposed to find all of the paths between the root and the goal nodes of a graph. I have no idea how to do this as I can't find a way to keep track of all of the alternate routes without also including copies/cycles.   Howdy all, I'm running into a problem with some InfoPath C# code while trying to remove an attachment from a form. Basically the process is: User opens form User clicks button File attachment is cleared I've tried adding a blank attachment to my schema that never becomes populated, then setting the original field's value equal to that value by the method below. When debugging the form I catch an error: Schema validation found non-data type errors. I am using EventMachine, Ruby 1.9, Fibers and various em-flavoured libraries as documented by the wickedly good Ilya Grigorik.   Hello fellow SO members, I want to prevent the user from copy-pasting values in my TextBox IF AND ONLY IF the values do not respect a certain condition. For instance, I created a DigitsOnlyTextBox which will be used for phone numbers. Essentially, I want to create an EnumerableRowCollection of DataRows that would include a max value record with the same value for each record. • asp.net app slow and not rendering but .txt file works fine?

  i have a load balanced set of 2 servers running a .net application that is loading slow and not at all to the point the load balancer is redirecting me and my users to our dr server. i added a hard coded file to both servers to tell what server is working and not. both pull the txt file and display its contents in no time. however the asp.net pages dont render. the DB is not sweating and even a plain .aspx page doesnt come up. any thoughts on trouble shooting this?
