  • Telerik RadGrid doesn't display on first Page_Load but does on postback

    - by Mark
I have a page with a drop-down. Based on the selection in the drop-down, data gets loaded and populates a RadGrid. I am using a custom user control for the EditTemplate, so I can't use radGrid.DataBind(). Instead, I have to use radGrid.MasterTableView.Rebind() in association with a NeedDataSource event handler. My problem is that when I load the page initially, I populate the drop-down and automatically select a value (first item in the list) which triggers the databinding on the RadGrid. I can step through the code in debug mode and see that the grid is being populated with data, but when the page displays, it doesn't get rendered. When I then manually choose an item from the drop-down, which triggers the same grid databinding code, it displays properly the second time. How do I get it to display the grid the first time the page loads?

  • Infopath - Repeating sections

    - by witsEnd
I have struggled with this for 2 days and posted this question at a couple of other sites but with no luck. I am creating a form as follows. I have an "outer" repeating section in which the user enters a work item id and then selects as many names as he/she wishes from a series of drop down lists. When the user clicks a button (also in this "outer" repeating section), Feedback textboxes are added for each name selected, as well as text boxes with the names selected from the drop down appear above the those provided for feedback. I used the XPathNavigator.Clone() method to create the new feedback textboxes and textboxes that display the user's name that was selected. (The username textbox appears above the respective feedback textbox). This did the trick, but there is a problem. The user should be able to click "Insert item" on the outer repeating section to add another work item wherein he/she may again select as many names as they wish from the series of drop downs, click a button, and have feedback and user name text boxes appear for each name selected from the drop down box associated with the current work item, (i.e, "outer" repeating section). I clicked Insert Item on the "outer" repeating section and selected 2 names from the second series of drop downs, but when I try to clone a node, it is added at the end of the previous repeating section. I don't know how to navigate into (for lack of a better term) subsequent repeating sections. I am using InfoPath 2007 and I am aware that the current() method call is implicit, but this still doesn't work. I'm thinking I need to set up a Rule somewhere, but I am not sure how to do that. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Two n x m relationships with the same table in mysql

I want to create a database in which there's an n x m relationship between the table drug and the table article and an n x m relationship between the table target and the table article. • MS SQL Index Scripting

    - by Fouad Masoud
I'm using MS SQL 2008. Is it possible to create a script to loop over all tables in a database generating a set of index drop scripts and create scripts separately? What I have to do is drop all indexes on a set of databases to run a heavy data load process but then I want to re-enable all the indexes. I don't want to have to go through each table and script an index drop and then index create. Thanks!

  • Parameterized SQL statements vs. very simple method

    - by Philipp G
When I started to write the first SQL-Statements in my programs I felt quite comfortable with protecting myself against SQL-Injection with a very simple method that a colleague showed me. It replaced all single quotes with two single quotes. So for example there is a searchfield in which you can enter a customername to search in the customertable. If you would enter Peter's Barbershop The SELECT Statement would look like SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE Customername = 'Peter''s Barbershop' If now an attacker would insert this: ';DROP TABLE FOO; -- The statement would look like: SELECT * FROM Customers WHERE Customername = ''';DROP TABLE FOO;--' It would not drop any table, but search the customertable for the customername ';DROP TABLE FOO;-- which, I suppose, won't be found ;-) Now after a while of writing statements and protecting myself against SQL-Injection with this method, I read that many developers use parameterized statements, but I never read an article where "our" method was used. So definitely there is a good reason for it. What scenarios would parameterized statements cover but our method doesn't? What are the advantages of parameterized statements compared to our method? Thanks Philipp

  • CSS filters - sometimes working, sometimes not?

    - by a2h
    I'm on the verge of pulling my hair out over this. Here I have a block of perfectly functioning CSS: #admin .block.mode.off { opacity: 0.25; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); } Meanwhile... Internet Explorer 8 couldn't care less about my filter declarations here: #admin .drop .tabs { margin-bottom: 12px; } #admin .drop .tab { margin-right: 4px; } #admin .drop .tab.off { cursor: pointer; opacity: 0.5; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=50); } #admin .drop .tab.off:hover { text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; } #admin .drop .tab.on { cursor: default; text-shadow: 0px 0px 4px #fff; -ms-filter: "progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4)"; filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Glow(color=#fff, strength=4); } My document shows in IE8 Standards, and I am assuming the developer tools are a load of tuna, because the functioning block shows up in its CSS tab as: filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(opacity=25); opacity: 0.25 Does anyone have any ideas?

  • Custom jQuery dropdown

    - by Coughlin
    I am creating a custom simple dropdown using jQuery that hides/shows a element based on over state. The problem I have now is that when you go over the shown element it hides, you cant move your mouse in to the dropdown that was created. Any thoughts on how to fix that also, is there an easier way to do what I have? I am going to be reusing this and not sure the best way to set the code up for I dont need to copy/paste six times. $(function(){ $("#dog-nav").hover( function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-dog").show("fast"); }, function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-dog").hide("fast"); } ); $("#cat-nav").hover( function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-cat").show("fast"); }, function(){ $(".sub-drop-box-cat").hide("fast"); } ); });

I need that it would be working, no matter what comes after "--drop". How i can implement that? Thanks

  • RAD Visual Web Application Creator/ Builder/ Designer for PHP

    - by inhoue
Hi all, I want to see if any of you know a (free and open source will be ideal) tool/ app that can help build a php web application very quickly without investing too much time on writing codes, preferring drag and drop/ point and click work-flow designer for logic design (see Agile from Outsystems below). Plus, visual designer for the business logic is great since it can help a developer visualize the logic better. There are a lot of GUI builders, form builders out there, but I am looking for one app for the entire web application development process. My goal is to find an application that a team of developers can use together and use the build-in code of the app as much as possible. E.g. the app will provide a modular just for handle user login or a shopping cart; a developer just need to drag and drop the modular to the logic designer and the code will be generated. This way the functionality will be in a module and code will always be standard across developers. So if a new developer get on-board, he will just need to use the system and get up and running quickly. To explain this better: there is a lot php frameworks, e.g. cakephp, CodeIgniter, etc which I can use to help coding, but still I need to create (code) the GUI, writing quite a bit of codes. I am looking for a tool/ app that is a little more high level than those frameworks. Here is 2 examples apps I found during my google search which they have visual logic designer and gui builder in one single app. Also a single click deployment (but I need it to be php apps or at least I can deploy the (php) code to a LAMP/ WAMP server): Wavemaker: for JAVA Agile from Outsystems: for JAVA or .net (This one is really good, with work-flow drag and drop logic designer!) Talend: it is just an ETL tool, but the concept is what I want to bring up. Drag and drop, point and click logic design. Custom code can be added if it is needed, but the drag and drop process already finished the structure and most of the coding of the web app one needs to build. I want to list Adobe Flex, but it is more like a GUI designer + IDE, not exactly what I want to describe here. The drag and drop/ work-flow logic designer is a key for the app. I could go for the CMS route by learning how to extend them, but it is not that flexible for me and is a long learning curve. Anybody came across this type of app before? Or any idea of how can I find those apps? I googled them for long time, I don't see any of them for php and just few (just 2) for Java. Thanks in advance!

  • Grid sorting with persistent master sort

    - by MikeWyatt
I have a UI with a grid. Each record in the grid is sorted by a "master" sort column, let's call it a page number. Each record is a story in a magazine. I want the user to be able to drag and drop a record to a new position in the grid and automatically update the page number field to reflect the updated position. Easy enough, right? Now imagine that I also want to have the grid sortable by any other column (story title, section, author name, etc.). How does the drag and drop operation work now? Revert to page number sort during or after the drag and drop operation? This could confuse the user (why did my sort just change?). It would also result in arbitrary row positioning. Would the story now be before the row that was after it when the user dropped it? Or, would it be after the row that was before it? Those rows may now be widely separated after the master order sort. Disable the drag and drop feature if the grid isn't currently sorted by the page number? This would be easy, but the user might wonder why he can't drag and drop at certain times. Knowing to first sort by page number may not be very intuitive. Let the user rearrange his rows, but not make any changes to the page number? Require the user to enter a "Arrange Stories" mode, in which the grid sort is temporarily switched to page number and drag and drop is enabled? They would then exit the mode, and the previous sort would be reapplied. The big difference between this and the second option is that it would be more explicit than simply clicking on a column header. Any other ideas, or reasons why one of the above is the way to go? EDIT I'd like to point out that any of the above is technically possible, and easy to implement. My question is design-related. What is the most intuitive way to solve this problem, from the user's perspective?

  • How to know user is dragging something when the cursor is not in my window?

    - by Edwin
Hi folks, We all know you can implement drag-and-drop feature for your Window so that it accepts drag and drop operation, but my question is, how to detect a drag-and-drop operation that's is in progress in other windows, for example, dragging a file in the Windows Explorer? What I want to do is that when a user is dragging a file then my hidden window shows up. Thank you!

  • xslt dropdown problems

    - by Primetime
I have a page with two drop down boxes created in a xslt. I am using onchange in both blocks to call a javascript function. If both drop downs are loaded on the page only the first drop down has a working onchange. I checked the view source code and it shows both onchange events. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? ex: two drop downs, select first one, it refreshes, select second it does nothing, select first one and it still refreshes. code removed.

  • Silverlight avoid lose focus on datagrid

    - by lidermin
Hi, I have a question: How could I keep the focus on a combobox of a cell inside a datagrid in edit mode; even when I drag a textbox inside a scroll viewer to drag & drop. This is the behaviour I need: The user start to edit a cell by double clicking, and a combobox is showed, then the user could drag and drop some text (one of the texboxes inside the scroll viewer) to the combobox I mentioned. The issue is: when I click on one those textboxes to drag & drop, I lose the focus of the datagrid, and I can't drop it to the cell (the combobox), because I lose the edit mode (it's not a combobox anymore, the datagrid is on query mode). How can I achieve the behaviour I need? Please help. Thanks.

  • Behavior of <- NULL on lists versus data.frames for removing data

    - by Ananda Mahto
Many R users eventually figure out lots of ways to remove elements from their data. One way is to use NULL, particularly when you want to do something like drop a column from a data.frame or drop an element from a list. Eventually, a user comes across a situation where they want to drop several columns from a data.frame at once, and they hit upon <- list(NULL) as the solution (since using <- NULL will result in an error). A data.frame is a special type of list, so it wouldn't be too tough to imagine that the approaches for removing items from a list should be the same as removing columns from a data.frame. However, they produce different results, as can be seen in the example below. ## Make some small data--two data.frames and two lists cars1 <- cars2 <- head(mtcars)[1:4] cars3 <- cars4 <- as.list(cars2) ## Demonstration that the `list(NULL)` approach works cars1[c("mpg", "cyl")] <- list(NULL) cars1 # disp hp # Mazda RX4 160 110 # Mazda RX4 Wag 160 110 # Datsun 710 108 93 # Hornet 4 Drive 258 110 # Hornet Sportabout 360 175 # Valiant 225 105 ## Demonstration that simply using `NULL` does not work cars2[c("mpg", "cyl")] <- NULL # Error in `[<-.data.frame`(`*tmp*`, c("mpg", "cyl"), value = NULL) : # replacement has 0 items, need 12 Switch to applying the same concept to a list, and compare the difference in behavior. ## Does not fully drop the items, but sets them to `NULL` cars3[c("mpg", "cyl")] <- list(NULL) # $mpg # NULL # # $cyl # NULL # # $disp # [1] 160 160 108 258 360 225 # # $hp # [1] 110 110 93 110 175 105 ## *Does* drop the `list` items while this would ## have produced an error with a `data.frame` cars4[c("mpg", "cyl")] <- NULL # $disp # [1] 160 160 108 258 360 225 # # $hp # [1] 110 110 93 110 175 105 The main questions I have are, if a data.frame is a list, why does it behave so differently in this scenario? Is there a foolproof way of knowing when an element will be dropped, when it will produce an error, and when it will simply be given a NULL value? Or do we depend on trial-and-error for this?

  • JSON onFailure issue

    - by Mikey1980
I’m having trouble getting a AJAX/JSON function to work correctly. I had this function grabbing value from a drop down box but now I want to use an anchor tag to set it's value. I thought it would be easy to just use the onClick event to pass string to the function I was using for the drop down box but I get the alert in JSON onFailure event even though data gets added to MySQL. I tried removing the alert from onFailure event but then it doesn't add the data. The drop down still continues work work fine, no alerts. (I should note that removing the alert also broke my drop down box) 1st I add an onClick event… <a href="<?php echo Settings::get('app.webroot'); ?>?view=schedule&action=questions" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore();" onmouseover="MM_swapImage('bre','','template/images/schedule/bre_f2.gif',1)" onclick="assignCallType('testing')";> 2nd I check main.js.php function assignCallType(type) { alert(type); new Request.JSON({ url: "ajax.php", onSuccess: function(rtndata, txt){ if (rtndata['STATUS'] != 'OK') alert('Status was not okay'); }, onFailure : function () { alert("onFailure") } }).get({ 'action': 'assignCallType', 'call_type': type }); } 3rd Ajax.php: the variable is back in PHP and values get added to MySQL but I get the Alert in the JSON onFailure event if ($_GET['action'] == "assignCallType") { if ($USER->isInsideSales()) { $call_type = $_GET['call_type']; $_SESSION['callinfo']->setCallType($call_type); $_SESSION['callinfo']->save($callid); echo json_encode(array('STATUS'=>'OK')); } else { echo json_encode(array('STATUS'=>'DENIED')); } } Any idea where I am going wrong. The only difference between this and the working drop down is how the function was called, I used onchange="assignCallType(this.value)".

  • Using a dropdown on a static webpage as a DataSource in C#.net

    - by Matt
I know this is a terrible way of doing things, but it's for an internal app where security is no issue. Basically, an old group created a php page with a drop down and this drop down is populated with entries from a DB. The DB owner is currently absent and for the sake of time, I would just need something that turns the entries in that drop down, always at the same url with the same ID every load into a List. Is there a quick, painless way to do this in .NET?

  • jquery .blur for entire block of HTML

    - by Stacey
I have an HTML item for a 'drop down menu', structured like this... <li class="ui-dropdown-list" > <a href="#">Right Drop Down Menu</a> <ul> <li><a href="#">Item</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item</a></li> <li><a href="#">Item</a></li> </ul> </li> Using jQuery to make this a dropdown list, with the following code. jQuery.fn.dropdown = function () { var defaults = { button: null, menu: null, visible: false }; var options = $.extend(defaults, options); return this.each(function () { options.button = $(this); options.menu = $(this).find("ul"); // when the parent is clicked, determine whether dropdown needs to occur options.button.click(function () { options.visible ? lift(options.menu) : drop(options.menu); options.visible = !options.visible; }); // drop the menu down so that it can be seen. function drop(e) { options.button.addClass("open"); options.menu.show(); } // lift the menu up, hiding it from view. function lift(e) { options.menu.hide(); options.button.removeClass('open'); } }); }; I am trying to wire it up so that if the user clicks anywhere outside of the menu, it will collapse it. This is proving much more difficult than I anticipated; even trying to use page level events. Any suggestions? The menu itself never really 'receives' focus, so using .blur doesn't seem to be suiting the purpose.

  • IE 7 CSS problem with detecting mouse over on div

    - by BeaverProj
I have a div inside an li as part of a top navigation for a website. I'm having trouble with IE 7 having "holes" in the box such that the drop down disappears when the user is still on the drop down. I started with a pure CSS solution (li:hover) and that works awesome in all browsers except IE 7. So I've now added a jQuery/javascript solution to detect when the mouse enters and exits the nav li and then add a class to show the drop down. It works better, but if the mouse is not over an image, p, h3, or a tag then it doesn't think I'm over the div that is the drop down. Very frustrating. I can post some test code, but the issue can be viewed here: http://davincidays.org/ Anyone have any ideas? I've been working on this for waaaay too long already and need some fresh things to try.

  • Selecting an option with javascript

    - by Fibericon
I have a drop down menu that I want to have selected on page load. This is what I'm using at the moment: var selector = document.getElementById("action_person").firstChild; var n = 0; while(selector.options[n] != null) { if(selector.options[n].value == "person") { selector.options.selectedIndex = n; } n++; } I've also tried replacing selector.options.selectedIndex = n with selector.options[n].selected = true. However, it never selects for me. It always shows the item at the top of the drop down. I've verified that the value "person" does exist in the drop down, and that the variable "selector" does point to a valid drop down. What am I doing wrong here?

  • How to add an object to a html string?

    - by Philippe Maes
I'm trying to load several images by a drop action and than resizing them and adding them as a thumbnail. The resize part is very important because the images can be very large and I want to make the thumbnails small of size. Here is my code: loadingGif(drop); for (var i=0;i<files.length;i++) { var file = files[i]; var reader = new FileReader(); reader.onload = function(e) { var src = e.target.result; var img = document.createElement('img'); img.src = src; var scale = 100/img.height; img.height = 100; img.width = scale*img.width; output.push('<div id="imagecontainer"><div id="image">'+img+'</div><div id="delimage"><img src="img/del.jpg"" /></div></div>'); if(output.length == files.length) { drop.removeChild(drop.lastChild); drop.innerHTML += output.join(''); output.length = 0; } } reader.readAsDataURL(file); } As you can probably tell I insert a loading gif image in my dropzone until all files are loaded (output.length == files.length). When a file is loaded I add html to an array which I will print if the load is complete. The problem is I can't seem to add the img object (I need this object to resize the image) to the html string, which seems obvious as the img is an object... So my question to you guys is: how do I do this? :)
