Hi,
I just pulled the 2010 ultimate from MSDN, and I see there's no "Smart Device" options anymore. Does anybody knows how to enable it, or how to install it?
Sincerely,
Yvan
I want to remove visual studio 2010 from a computer i am selling but even after uninstall, it looks like my product key is still around - if you re-install it it will use the product key...
How do I remove that registration info from the computer as I don't want the new owner of the computer to use my product key.
And I don't want to have to uninstall Windows.
Does anyone know of any free add-in similar to Smart Paster, but for Visual Studio 2010?
Unfortunately, Smart Paster only works for VS2005 and VS2008.
For the ones that don't know what I'm talking about, check it out.
I'm building a tabbed WPF application. I'm planning to put MapPoint control (ActiveX) on one of the tabs. I want to have the option to float this tab just like in VS 2010. The resulting widow must contain the same instance of the MapPoint control (because each instance of the control starts up separate MapPoint instance). Any idea how to implement this?
Hi,
I had written a custom search query for MOSS 2007 to get data where contenttype is post. However the same query is not returning any results in SharePoint 2010. Any inputs will be appreciated.
Please note that SharePoint search box is returning (parameter k in query string and also contenttype:post) appropriate results.
Thanks
I have just installed Visual Studio 2010.
when I attempt to create a new project in c#, there is no option for a WPF application. There is for Visual Basic.
The WPFApplicaton.zip flie does exist in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\CSharp\Windows\1033
What could be wrong here?
Just downloaded the Visual Studio 2010 Premium and realized that can't compile the project, made for PDA! The error log in output window says: Loading D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj ...
D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj : error : The project file 'D:\Work...\PDA2.csproj' cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by this installation. I want to know if mobile development projects are supported in RTM version or they are deprecated?
Hi,
I get the following exception: 'Cannot find the method on the object instance' when I hover over a property of one of my classes in Visual Studio 2010.
Any ideas?
Visual Studio 2010 adds a new feature to improve loading speed of references in "Add .NET Reference" tab.
For example, when the target framework of project is 3.5, it displays only 3.5 assemblies in the list, and says "Filtered to: .NET Framework 3.5". This feature is quite annoying, as it makes impossible to find an older assembly, unless you change a target framework in compilation options. Is there any option to disable that filtering?
Hi
I've recently installed VS2010 and I'm trying to upgrade a project that I created using VS2008 and WSSF (Web Service Software Factory). I've installed the 2010 version of WSSF and it's prerequisites. After upgrading, when I try to load the solution I get "blah.ssfproduct cannot be opened because its project type (.ssfproduct) is not supported by this version of the application". Absolutely no idea what to do :(
Cheers
Mark
OpenCV 2.0a does not include pre-compiled OpenCV libraries for Visual Studio users. I am trying to build the libraries from source using Visual Studio 2010 Beta and CMake, but I am getting lot of errors.
I even tried generating the libs from dlls using dumpbin but the linker errors are still persisting. Please guide me to generate the static libs for VS2010.
Is it possible to use a platform builder 5.0 SDK in visual studio 2010 for a C++ project.
I want to compile code for a specific ARM WinCE 5.0 environment and I have VS2010 at the moment.
The Microsoft website recommends visual studio 2005. I'm currently downloading the VS2005 evaluation but I'm also a bit worried about installing this on a machine that already has vs2010 installed.
Any advise would be greatly received.
Does anyone know where can I enable the bar that let me switch between different views (Design,split,..) in Visual Studio 2010 ? I can't find it and it is not enables by default
I currently have Visual Studio 2008 Professional installed on my Windows 7 (x64) laaptop.
I also have SQL Server 2008 Express installed and Crystal Reports 2008 installed.
Can I upgrade Visual Studio 2008 Pro to Visual Studio 2010 Promimum and if so do I have to make any configuration changes to any other apps I have installed?
Running Visual Studio 2010 10.0.30319.1 RTMRel with prior running and uninstalled beta version.
My issue, I'm not able to show Data Sources panel. It's not under View menu in my case.
Would appreciate any ideas
Hello,
The formatter in Delphi 2010 is really an annoying thing to me.
I prefer formatting my code manually.
I believe I do it better.
How can I disable it?
NOTE: Answers on why I don't use it in the first place will not be accepted. I need it switched OFF. Nothing more, nothing less.
Thank you.
I'm trying to install ReSharper 5. But the installer does not recognize that I've got Visual Studio 2010 Express installed. The installer does find my Visual Studio 2008 Team System installation.
I've got a valid ReSharper 5 license.
I have a very simple DLL written in unmanaged C++ that I access from my application. I recently switch to Visual Studio 2010, and the DLL went from 55k down to 35k with no code changes, and now it will no longer load in Windows 2000. I didn't change any code or compiler settings. I have my defines setup for 0x0500, which should include Windows 2000 support. Has anyone else run into this, or have any ideas of what I can do?
I'm using Visual C# 2010 Express RTM with Windows Phone Developer Tools April CTP Refresh and when I run any Build option, nothing happens. I've deleted the contents of the build output folders and that doesn't do anything. I can't even run the project, because it complains the executable is missing (XNA Game for Windows project). I've tried the project on another computer and it builds just fine. Any ideas?
Visual studio 2010 Premium installed on Widnows 7:
when try to connect for online gallery or online template, give me error like:
Cannot search for online exensions because an error occured while trying to contact the server
and ask me enable access to extensions on the vistual studio gallery ....
It did enabled in Extension Manager Tools/Options page.
Internet connection was fine.
Can't know why.
On another computer: Windows 7, VS2010 utilmate trail version: this was fine.
Since we don't use and don't plan to use TFS, it would be nice to not install Team Explorer VS.NET addon and not see any references to it.
However this is no TFS option in customized install.
Is there some way to install plain-vanilla VS.NET 2010 without it?
Or maybe there is some kind of TFS uninstaller?
I am wondering what these greens things are in Visual Studio 2010. What are they for? They look pretty random but of course they have to have some meaning. Can any one tell me?
At first glance they don't mean any thing to me.

Picture 2:
Edit:
They show saved changed content during the document open. Once you close the document they disappear.
I have upgraded from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010 and I am facing the issue that my log4net configuration does not work anymore when debugging.
I used to add the logging configuration into app.config, but this does not work anymore. Could you elaborate what I need to do with the new release, so that I can combine debugging with log4net?
Is it possible to use the integrated Visual Studio 2010 test runner to run other frameworks (Xunit, NUnit etc.) besides MSTest?
Does anyone know?
Thanks
