  • Suppress the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR http header, c# .net C++

    - by Sean
I'm writing an application in C# that uses proxies. The proxies are sending the HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR during HTTP requests, and this is unwanted behavior. I am extending the Interop.SHDocVw axWebBrowser (aka Internet Explorer) control right now, but can take another approach if needed for this problem. Is there some way to suppress this header... can this be done in code, on the proxy server, or not at all?

  • Tomcat Http and Https on the same port

    - by Ofri Dagan
Hi, I have a web-service endpoint and a http connector on port X. At some point this endpoint needs to switch to https, but on the same port! (I know this is not the normal way of doing things, but this is what my clients expect from an old server they are using...) Is there a way to do it in tomcat?

  • HTTP Proxy with monitor UI for local install

    - by zedoo
Hi, I'm looking for an HTTP Proxy/GUI combination that should be installed locally on my Windows PC. The UI should display something similar to Firebugs "Network" tab, showing request/response headers and content as plaintext. It would be cool if I could attach requests to a sort of node for later comparison, similar to what you can do when using the Proxy that comes with JMeter.

  • Creating an http proxy

    - by Pablo Fernandez
This might be a beginner question but I did some googling and couldn't find an answer so bear with me. I was wondering if there was a resource, tutorial, wiki, etc that explained how to create an http proxy. It would be good to see it in ruby but any language will do if that's not possible. Thanks a lot

  • Issuing multiple requests using HTTP/1.1 Pipelining

    - by Robert S. Barnes
When using HTTP/1.1 Pipelining what does the standard say about issuing multiple requests without waiting for each request to complete? What do servers do in practice? I ask because I once tried writing a client which would issue a batch of GET requests for multiple files and remember getting errors. I wasn't sure if it was due to me incorrectly issuing the GET's or needing to wait for each individual request to finish before issuing the next GET.

Hi, I am writing a sample PHP Web Service that is sending GET Http request from the iphone to the web server. The server side code is returning JSON Data to iphone, the server side code looks like: function getUsers(){ $con=mysql_connect("localhost","root","123456") or die(mysql_error()); if(!mysql_select_db("eventsfast",$con)) { echo "Unable to connect to DB"; exit; } $sql="SELECT * from users"; $result=mysql_query($sql); if(!$result) { die('Could not successfully run query Error:'.mysql_error()); } $data = array(); while($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result)){ $data['username'][] = $row['username']; $data['password'][]= $row['password']; } mysql_close($con); //print_r(json_encode($data)); //return (json_encode($data)); return json_encode('success'); } getUsers(); ? Its a simple code that Fetches all the data from the user table and send it to the iphone application. *****************************************************IPHONE APPLICATION (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; responseData = [[NSMutableData data] retain]; NSURLRequest *request = [NSURLRequest requestWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://localhost:8888/GetData.php"]]; [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:self]; } (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveResponse:(NSURLResponse *)response { [responseData setLength:0]; } (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didReceiveData:(NSData *)data { [responseData appendData:data]; } (void)connection:(NSURLConnection *)connection didFailWithError:(NSError *)error { label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"Connection failed: %@", [error description]]; } (void)connectionDidFinishLoading:(NSURLConnection *)connection { [connection release]; NSString *responseString = [[NSString alloc] initWithData:responseData encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding]; [responseData release]; NSError *error; SBJSON *json = [[SBJSON new] autorelease]; NSArray *luckyNumbers = [json objectWithString:responseString error:&error]; [responseString release]; if (luckyNumbers == nil) label.text = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"JSON parsing failed: %@", [error localizedDescription]]; else { NSMutableString *text = [NSMutableString stringWithString:@"Lucky numbers:\n"]; for (int i = 0; i < [luckyNumbers count]; i++) [text appendFormat:@"%@\n", [luckyNumbers objectAtIndex:i]]; NSLog(text); label.text = text; } } ********************PROBLEM**************** The problem is that nothing is coming on iphone side of the application........... the response doesn't contains anything.............. • "Proxying" HTTP requests

    - by Richard
Hi all, I have some software which runs as a black box, I have no access to it. This software makes HTTP requests. What I want to do is intercept these requests, forward them on, catch the response, do something with it, before passing the response back to the software. Can this be done? What's the best method? Thanks

  • IIS 6.0 Server Too Busy HTTP 503 Connection_Dropped DefaultAppPool

    - by Shiraz Bhaiji
We have a site which is running on a windows 2003 cluster with 2 64bit machines. The site needs to be able to cope with over 20,000 concurrent users One of the things that the site does is to allow the download of a 2MB file (which is cached in memory). We have low CPU and memory usage. We also have surplus bandwidth. It appears that we are running out of connections due the time it takes the user to download the file (some users have slow internet connections). In the IIS log we get HTTP 503 errors. In the HTTPErr log we get mainly Connection_Dropped DefaultAppPool with some Timer_EntityBody DefaultAppPool. Question is: How can we configure IIS to allow more connections? Or is there something that I am missing here? Thanks Shiraz

  • Need help redirecting http://website.com/ to http://www.website.com/

    - by Matt
What I'm trying to do is to redirect my website visitors who enter "website.com" to "www.website.com". I would do this with a standard redirect, but I don't know how to make a site specific to WWW or non-WWW addresses. I see that Firefox thinks my site is clearly different at the WWW version, because it reloads it without using the cache. How can I make a non-WWW specific index.html page to redirect them to www.website.com?

  • Apache Solr: Setting HTTP Response Headers From solrconfig.xml For CORS

    - by Noah Freitas
Is it possible to setup the sending of a custom HTTP response header from within the solrconfig.xml file? I am thinking that it might be possible to add some configuration to the <requestDispatcher> since it controls caching headers. I am sure this is possible in the servlet container configuration (Jetty, Tomcat, etc.), but I would like to do this from within Solr's configuration files if at all possible. If this makes any difference, I am attempting to set an Access-Control-Allow-Origin header for CORS AJAX requests for a different host.

    - by Ananth
hi, I want to monitor http request generated out of a exe. Is there any tool that can help me? Actually, an exe would call my asp.net web page to register a user. The exe constructs the POST data request and calls my page. when the request reaches my web page, I don't see any data. I want to monitor the Request object and the traffic to find the reality. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. ~/Ananth

  • Upload file via HTTP from VBA (WinHTTP)

    - by chiccodoro
Hi all, I'm trying to HTTP upload a binary file programmatically from within VBA. I intend to put an ASPX page on the server. I know there are lots of nice ways to do that (e.g. use web service instead of aspx), but my constraint is that it must run in VBA (in an excel file), and that I cannot install any additional components on the client. So I guess I'll use WinHTTP, and I've found several examples to post form data, but not to post a binary file. I probably need to base64 the file contents? If so, please let me know. If I can make WinHTTP do file encoding for me, please let me know. If there is a much better way to reach my goal (Upload file from within VBA, server needn't necessarily be ASPX, could be a ASP.NET-Web service as well), please let me know... Thx, chiccodoro

  • Using .htaccess to force either HTTP or HTTPS

    - by ILMV
I have already got this code to force these URLs to HTTPS: RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/my/?.*$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/my/basket/add/$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/login/?.*$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/logout/?.*$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/register/?.*$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/newsletter/?.*$ RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/reset-password/?.*$ RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} [R=301,L] And this works really well, but what I want to do is force any URL that does not comply with the above conditions to HTTP. Any thoughts on how I could do this? It has to be done using .htaccess, I have been achieving it by using our PHP framework, but this has been messing our Google crawl. Cheers!

  • Struts and logging HTTP POST request body

    - by Ivan Vrtaric
I'm trying to log the raw body of HTTP POST requests in our application based on Struts, running on Tomcat 6. I've found one previous post on SO that was somewhat helpful, but the accepted solution doesn't work properly in my case. The problem is, I want to log the POST body only in certain cases, and let Struts parse the parameters from the body after logging. Currently, in the Filter I wrote I can read and log the body from the HttpServletRequestWrapper object, but after that Struts can't find any parameters to parse, so the DispatchAction call (which depends on one of the parameters from the request) fails. I did some digging through Struts and Tomcat source code, and found that it doesn't matter if I store the POST body into a byte array, and expose a Stream and a Reader based on that array; when the parameters need to get parsed, Tomcat's Request object accesses its internal InputStream, which has already been read by that time. Does anyone have an idea how to implement this kind of logging correctly?

  • Redirecting a HTTP rqueust and response code/headers

    - by Bill Zimmerman
Hi, I have a loosely coupled web app (one part uses PHP, the other uses WGSI). The WSGI/python framework shares the authentication with the PHP app, meaning that generally, the user should Log in via the PHP interface Now the user can access any of the WSGI pages [this part works if the user has logged in] What I want to do though, is if a user tries to access a WSGI page while not logged in (maybe from a previous bookmark), I would like to redirect him to the login page, and after logging in redirect him back to the orignal URL. I'm not very experienced with server-side programming, so here are my questions. How should I redirect the user back to the PHP login page? What should the HTTP status code be? Do I need to set any extra header information? What is a good way/best practice method to pass the original URL to the login page, and then after logging have it redirect the user back. Thank you!

  • c# ASP HttpResponse with redirect causes HTTP 302

    - by acnse
Hi, I have a flow of web pages A and B. On the web page A, I do a "Response.Redirect("B.aspx"); The page B needs a client certificate. When the redirect is done I see a popup asking for a client certificate. I select the correct certificate, which is retrieved from a smart card, and then I insert the pin. Right after, I see a page saying that the connection was lost, and I receive an HTTP 302. I never reach the page B.aspx. I tried to add the following line "Response.RedirectLocation = "B.aspx"; but with no success too. Any hints? Thanks

  • Ruby Net::HTTP - Read only x number of bytes of the body

    - by bvanderw
It seems like the methods of Ruby's Net::HTTP are all or nothing when it comes to reading the body of a web page. How can I read, say, the just the first 100 bytes of the body? I am trying to read from a content server that returns a short error message in the body of the response if the file requested isn't available. I need to read enough of the body to determine whether the file is there. The files are huge, so I don't want to get the whole body just to check if the file is available.

  • HTTP Cache Control max-age, must-revalidate

    - by nyb
I have a couple of queries related to Cache-Control. If I specify Cache-Control "max-age=3600, must-revalidate" for a static html/js/images/css file, with Last Modified Header defined in HTTP header, a. Does browser/proxy cache(liek Squid/Akamai) go all the way to orgin server to validate before max-age expires? Or will it serve content from cache till max-age expires? b. After max-age expiry(that is expiry from cache), is there a IMS check or is content re-downloaded from origin server w/o IMS check?
