  • asp.net updatepanel inside hidden panel possible bug

    Hi The javascript generated by the asp.net SciptManager control seems to have a bug and cant handle hidden UpdatePanels. A javascript error is thrown when a control within one updated panel tries to make another update panel visible. Is this a bug with ASP.Net ajax?     I am trying to get my data to display properly within a GridLayout, which is to be used as a DataTemplate for an Item within ListBox. Any reason why it does this? As I said, only when TextWrapping is set to Wrap it does this. When its not used, it scrolls fine, but the text is all along one line and off the screen.

    I am trying to prototype a Rpc Call to a JBOSS webserver from Silverlight (4). I have written the code and it is working in a console application - so I know that Jboss is responding to the web request. Porting it to silverlight 4, is causing issues: let uri = new Uri(queryUrl) // this is the line that hangs let request : HttpWebRequest = downcast WebRequest.Create(uri) request.Method <- httpMethod; request.ContentType <- contentType It may be a sandbox issue, as my silverlight is being served off of my file system and the Uri is a reference to the localhost - though I am not even getting an exception. Thoughts? Thx UPDATE 1 I created a new project and ported my code over and now it is working; something must be unstable w/ regard to the F# Silverlight integration still. Still would appreciate thoughts on debugging the "hanging" web create in the old model...     Hi, I have added some table and other vies in a scrollview. scrolling in tables are working fine. But in the parent scrollview, when scrolling, a vacillating vertical scrollbars are shown, sometimes it even come to the middle of the screen. sometime show at the left side of the screen. and not limited to the vertical scrollbar region. When I set tje showsVerticalScrollIndicator = NO, it is not shown. But do you know why the scrollbar is moving around.     I can't believe that this is so complicated but I tried and googled for a while now. I just want to analyse my scatter plot with a few graphical features. For starters, I want to add simply a line. And frankly, the documentation-examples-gallery combo and content of matplotlib is a bad source for information.     For developing programs for windows, we need windows SDK. I understand that this SDK is what helps to create windows and handle window events and all that. I suppose it also enables us to manipulate with files and registries. (Does the same SDK is the reason for thread creation and handling?) All that is fine! I would like to know what are the files and libraries that come as a part of this SDK. Also does it come when I install the OS or when I install editors like Visual studio? Sometimes I see links to windows SDK separately as such. Is it same as the one that I get when installing Visual Studio or has something more than that.

    I have a ListBox that is bound to a list of CustomerViewModel-objects, that each has two dependency properties: - Name (string) - Description (string) - IsVisible (bool) (the IsVisible property is True by default and is reversed via the ToggleVisibility Command on the CustomerViewModel) I would like to display the Name and Description to the right of a Border-control, that is has a Transparent background when the IsVisible property is True and Green when the False. My problem is that the DataTrigger part of the code below doesn't work the way I want, because the Setter-part isn't triggered when the IsVisible is changed. What am I doing wrong?   • Strange behaviour of code inside TransactionScope?

    We are facing a very complex issue in our production application. We have a WCF method which creates a complex Entity in the database with all its relation. public void InsertEntity(Entity entity) { using(TransactionScope scope = new TransactionScope()) { EntityDao.Create(entity); } } EntityDao.Create(entity) method is very complex and has huge pieces of logic. During the entire process of creation it creates several child entities and also have several queries to database. During the entire WCF request of entity creation usually Connection is maintained in a ThreadStatic variable and reused by the DAOs. Although some of the queries in DAO described in step 2 uses a new connection and closes it after use. Overall we have seen that the above process behaviour is erratic. Some of the queries in the inner DAO does not even return actual data from the database? The same query when run to the actaul data store gives correct result. What can be possible reason of this behaviour?

This can occur if there is a compilation error in the Web site, or the web.config file is missing. So I guess I need to use some sort of directive to tell the complier to expect content between the tags. Any ideas?

    I've three divs. Header, central and footer. There is a table in central div (gridview) which is almost always longer than outer div. So I've made this div scrollable vertically. The question is: how can I make table header that it would be visible after div is scrolled down? I could have done this header with separate div or table and make it fixed but widths of columns in the table are not always the same - so I don't know how to maintain widths of columns in header then. Any clue?

    Hello, I'm having problems trying to populate a dropdownlist from the database. When I'm trying to set the datasource I can't find the dropdown control, it's in a DetailsView so I think it might have something to do with it only being created when it's in edit mode. It still says it's in current mode when I'm editing though, so not sure what's going on there. Here's the code from the aspx file: <asp:DetailsView id="DetailsView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateRows="false" DataSourceID="myMySqlDataSrc" DataKeyNames="id" AutoGenerateDeleteButton="True" AutoGenerateEditButton="True" AutoGenerateInsertButton="False" > <Fields> <snip> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Region"> <ItemTemplate><%# Eval("region_name") %></ItemTemplate> <EditItemTemplate> <asp:DropDownList ID="RegionDropdownList" runat="server" SelectedValue='<%# Bind("region_id")%>'> </asp:DropDownList> </EditItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Fields> </asp:DetailsView> And this is from the code behind: ArrayList regionsList = BPBusiness.getRegions(); if (DetailsView1.CurrentMode == DetailsViewMode.Edit) { DropDownList ddlRegions = (DropDownList)DetailsView1.FindControl("RegionDropdownList"); if (ddlRegions != null) { ddlRegions.DataSource = regionsList; ddlRegions.DataBind(); } } It's .net 2.0 if that helps.     Hi, I have a situation like: #pragma omp parallel for private(i, j, k, val, p, l) for (i = 0; i < num1; i++) { for (j = 0; j < num2; j++) { for (k = 0; k < num3; k++) { val = m[i + j*somenum + k*2] if (val != 0) for (l = start; l <= end; l++) { someFunctionThatWritesIntoGlobalArray((i + l), j, k, (someFunctionThatGetsValueFromAnotherArray((i + l), j, k) * val)); } } } for (p = 0; p < num4; p++) { m[p] = 0; } } Thanks for reading, phew! Well I am noticing a very minor difference in the results (0.999967[omp] against 1[serial]), when I use the above (which is 3 times faster) against the serial implementation. Now I know I am doing a mistake here...especially the connection between loops is evident. Is it possible to parallelize this using omp sections? I tried some options like making shared(p) {doing this, I got correct values, as in the serial form}, but there was no speedup then. Any general advice on handling openmp pragmas over a slew of for loops would also be great for me!
