    I am trying to download a data file from a local network share to an iPhone device. I have placed the file on a computer on the network and can view through browsers such as Chrome or Mozilla, from any computer on the local network. However, Safari on a Mac and the iPhone do not find the file! An example of the URL I use is 'file://computer/SharedDocs/file.csv'. Why do Safari and the iPhone fail to find the file?

  • Window parent not working in IE 8

    I have a parent page and a child page. By using window.opener.parent property,I am able to read the parent page content and display it in the child page.(There is a PREVIEW button on parent page,on click of which the child page opens up as a popup and displays the content of parent page controls.) This functionality was working fine in IE7/Mozilla/IE6 but I am unable to locate why its not workin with IE8. Can anyone please help?

  • PHP apache_request_headers() diagrees with reality (as confirmed by Firebug): why?

    I have written a web app in PHP which makes use of Ajax requests (made using YUI.util.Connect.asyncRequest). Most of the time, this works fine. The request is sent with an X-Requested-With value of XMLHttpRequest. My PHP controller code uses apache_request_headers() to check whether an incoming request is Ajax or not and all works well. But not always. Intermittently, I'm getting a situation where the Ajax request is sent (and Firebug confirms for me that the headers on the request include an X-Requested-With of XMLHttpRequest) but apache_request_headers() is not returning that header in its list.     Hi, Since Ajax requests are limited for security reasons, there's not much to it, just follow the rules eh .. but I've crossed with this : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Same_origin_policy_for_JavaScript It's written that you can "bypass" those rules, in case you're working with subdomains of the same domain, with the following javascript line : document.domain = "company.com"; I haven't tried it yet, since I don't know if this only works (perfectly works) with any other browser, or at least the major ones.   • Why is my site displaying differently In Firefox than in Safari?

    I manage a website called ShareDen.com (http://shareden.com/home) and it looks the right way in Mozilla Firefox and it's totally completely discombobulated in Safari. I Haven't tested it in other broswer's (still in process) however my guess is it looks horrible in IE 8. Could it be because I just added the CSS Sticky Footer to my site? This wasn't happening before. Please help! Thank you in advanced!

    I'm trying to find the exact height and width of a browser's viewport, but I suspect that either Mozilla or IE is giving me the wrong number. Here's my method for height: var viewportHeight = window.innerHeight || document.documentElement.clientHeight || document.body.clientHeight; I haven't started on width yet but I'm guessing it's going to be something similar. Is there a more correct way of getting this information? Ideally, I'd like the solution to work with Safari/Chrome/other browsers as well.

  • HTML5 Offline Storage on iPad and iPhone BUG

    Hello everyone, I created a manifest file with 1000 items. Safari, Mozilla browsers are saving the files offline successfully and even Android saves the files correctly offline. On iPad and iPhone when I am trying to save more than 300 items in some point the applicationCache returns "error". When I am trying to save less (e.x.: 200) it saves the files correctly and the applicationCache returns "cached". Any ideas? Thank you.

    I have a strange bug that occurs in IE7/XP and IE8/Vista on my website. IE sends two cookies named PHPSESSID. How to reproduce: Clear cookies in IE (not necessary if you never visited unisender.com). Visit unisender.com (exactly without www to reproduce!) and it will redirect to www.unisender.com Login with any valid username and password (I've registered username testmsdn with password testmsdn - feel free to use for testing) Run your favourite capture-the-traffic program (I prefer wireshark) Now click any menu link (e.g. "messages") Look at captured traffic - you will see that IE sends double PHPSESSID cookie (and you are logged out after click because of this). It seems like first PHPSESSID is from unisender.com and second from www.unisender.com.
