I am using the Jquery Wysiwyg editor and I am trying to capture the html that makes up the content area to store in a DB. Is there anyway to get html of a element and save it as a string? My code looks like tihs <iframe id="wysiwyg_IFrame> <html> <head></head> <body> <ul> <li>This is a test</li> </ul> </body> </html> </iframe> I would either like to get a string that starts with <html>....</html> or just the body <body>...</body> does anyone know if this is possible? As soon as I try to redirect the page in the preRenderView method of the bean (just uncomment the code in the method), using handleNavigation() the bean is created again in the next view instead of using the allready created instance. JQuery $.ajax doesn't return anything, but only in Google Chrome!?

Hi All, I'm hoping someone can help me with this as I'm at a loss. I'm trying to simply load a plain text file into a page at runtime using jquery- everything works fine in IE8 (8.0.7600.16385), Firefox 3.6.3, however in Google Chrome 5.0.375.55 the "data" comes back as nothing- i get an empty alert box. IE not blocking javascript

It seems that IE8 defers javascript, but also doesn't block. I've setup a test environment to prove this. vim - how am I suppose to read this command to remove all blanks at the end of a line

I happened across this page full of super useful and rather cryptic vim tips at http://rayninfo.co.uk/vimtips.html. I've tried a few of these and I understand what is happening enough to be able to parse it correctly in my head so that I can possibly recreate it later. One I'm having a hard time getting my head wrapped around though are the following two commands to remove all spaces from the end of every line :%s= *$== : delete end of line blanks :%s= \+$== : Same thing I'm interpreting %s as string replacement on every line in the file, but after that I am getting lost in what looks like some gnarly variation of :s and regex. I'm used to seeing and using :s/regex/replacement. But the above is super confusing. What do those above commands mean in english, step by step?

jQuery AJAX get request - cannot see returned data

I think I am missing something obvious here, but I can't figure it out. I expect the following HTML to alert a response from the server. But, the alert is empty. I can see in Wireshark that the expected response is coming back to me from the server. css opacity not working in IE7

PHP - Concatenating objects and casting to string - bad idea?

Is it bad practice to concatenate objects when used in this context: $this->template->head .= new View('custom_javascript') This is the way i normally add extra css/js stuff to specific pages. I use an MVC structure where my basic html template has a $head variable which I set in my main Website_controller. I have used this approach for a while as it means I can just add bits and pieces of css/js stuff from whichever page/controller needs it. But having come across a problem in PHP 5.1.6 where the above code results in "Object ID #24", the result of toString() not being called i think, I am rethinking whether i should just fix this to work in PHP 5.1.6 or if i should rethink this approach in general. Any pointers appreciated!

Was about to finally submit an app when I realized that the youtube videos I'm playing play from the iPhone, but not the iPad. Is git svn rebase required before git svn dcommit?

I'm reading about using git as an svn client here: http://learn.github.com/p/git-svn.html That page suggests that you do git svn rebase before git svn dcommit, which makes perfect sense; it's like doing svn update before doing svn commit. Then, I started looking at the documentation for git svn dcommit (I was wondering what the 'd' is about): http://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-svn.html You have to scroll down a bit to see the documentation on dcommit, which says this: Commit each diff from a specified head directly to the SVN repository, and then rebase or reset (depending on whether or not there is a diff between SVN and head). This confuses me, because if you do as the first page says, there will be no changes to pull down from svn once the first part of dcommit finishes. I'm also confused by the part that talks about reset; isn't git reset for removing changes from the staging area? Why would rebase or reset follow (the first part of) a dcommit?

JSF tags not being rendered as HTML

I'm following the Java EE firstcup tutorial using Netbeans and Glassfish. When I execute the JSF web tier I've been instructed to code, the browser gets the same JSF markup coded in the .xhtml file, and the tags are not rendered as HTML tags. I know this by using the view source code in my browser. For example, for this code: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"> <h:head> <title>Page title here</title> </h:head> <h:body> <h2> <h:outputText value="#{bundle.WelcomeMessage}" /> </h2> </h:body> </html> The browser should get something like: <html ...> <head> <title>Page title here</title> </head> <body> <h2> the welcome message goes here </h2> </body> </html> Right? Well, my browser is getting jsf code (the first piece of code above) and not the html code (the second piece of code above). It seems to be a configuration problem in netbeans or glassfish but don't know what. Any ideas? function onload not working for IE7 and 8

Hi All, My onload function is not working for IE7 and 8: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"> <title>Insert title here</title> <script type="text/javascript"> function onload() { alert("Working properly") } </script> </head> <body> </body> </html> The alert doesn't happen if I try to access it with IE7 or 8 but it's working properly in Mozilla. Can anyone suggest something which works for both IE and Mozilla?
