• getting database connectivity issue from only one part of my ASP.net project?

  Hi, Something weird has started happening to my project with Dynamic Data. Suddenly I am now getting connection errors when going to the DD navigation pages, but things work fine on the default DD main page, and also other MVC pages I've added in myself work fine to the database. Any ideas? • Oracle 11g connection prob.

  Our application is based on Oracle 11g database its drivers already installed but application throws an error on runtime. "AppliMSP.ADOcommands.GetConnected Error while connecting, Provider cannot be found, It may not be properly installed." I am using OraOLEDB.oracle provider. This provider work properly on other module (Administration) of this application but as I want to connect as client with same name and password I get above error. I have tried with MSDAORA(Oracle) but I don't get any success. Can anyone help me?

  I would like to get a list of Active Directory users along with the security groups they are members of using SQL Server 2005 linked servers. I have the query working to retrieve records but I'm not sure how to access the memberOf attribute (it is a multi-value LDAP attribute). I have this temporary to store the information: DROP TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS CREATE TABLE #ADUSERGROUPS ( sAMAccountName varchar(30), UserGroup varchar(50) ) Each group/user association should be one row. • Godaddy ASPNET membership database woes -- PLEASE HELP

  Ok heres the deal I purchased a windows shared hosting account on godaddy that came with 2 MSSQL databases. I setup one to hold my site data and the other installed aspnet membership schema to store site members. The site works perfectly even displaying data from the 1st database. However when I try to login or register I get this nasty error Exception Details: System.Configuration.Provider.ProviderException: The SSE Provider did not find the database file specified in the connection string. At the configured trust level (below High trust level), the SSE provider can not automatically create the database file. Ive gone through my web.config and theres nothing wrong with my 2 connection strings. It seems godaddy has a problem with using 2 mssql databases simultaneously when 1 is for membership. Googling just finds a whole lot of people with the same problem -- but no solutions! Does anyone know a solution or a workaround?...or has anyone ever successfully used 2 databases(1 for membership) on godaddy?

• Setup Project is not correctly registering assembly in GAC

  I have created a custom Rewrite Provider for IIS 7 following instructions in this article: Developing a Custom Rewrite Provider for URL Rewrite Module To simplify deployment, I have created a VS2010 Setup Project and configured it to deploy my assembly to GAC. When I run the installer, it completes successfully, and appears to be registered the assembly in GAC (I have verified using gacutil.exe /l). However, when I go to IIS Manager to register the new rewrite provider it is not displayed in the list of available providers. I have also tried to install the assembly manually using gacutil.exe /if. This does work and makes assembly visible in the list of available providers in IIS Manager. Am I missing some sort of configuration in my Setup Project?

• Is it possible to scan Entities in jar files using JPA and hibernate

  I have the following situation : Project A - Contains a few entities and is independent Project B - Contains a few entities and is independent Project C - Contains few entities and is dependent on Project A & Project B. I am using Maven to manage dependencies and builds. When I try to test Project A and project B it goes through fine. Each of them has a persistence.xml and a separate persistent context. When I run Project C , It does map any of the entities. I have tried to use the auto-detect, specified the jar file attribute ... but nothing seems to work. It gives me a Mapping Exception saying unknown entity and wont persist or read the Entities from Projects A or B. I have posted the 3 persistence.xml files here. Also, I tried using the class attribute and using the same persistent context but it just wont find the files. Any help is really appreciated. • Using a single visual studio 2005 solution with multiple source control applications

  In my recent SO question I was helped tremendously in using git as a front-end to ClearCase. However actually trying the suggested answer(s) led to further complications. Visual Studio keeps a reference to the used source control provider in both the .sln as well as the .csproj files. I tried resolving this issue by keeping a modified copy of the .sln with the source control provider paragraph removed but this did not help since each project also has some source control provider information. I don't want to keep private copies of all the projects since this would be a maintenance nightmare. Do any of you have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Instead, the application sees Provider error '80004005' Unspecified error. How can I get the application to see the real error from the database? This is with Oracle 10g (client and server), if it matters.   I have a blog, which is on Drupal v6.14. Recently I changed my web hosting provider. My new hosting provider does'nt support MySQLi. So I have to use MySQL instead of MySQLi. All things worked fine for some days. But on a very fine morning, I found my blog is down and the error message was Mysql: Too Many Connections to the server.   I have a .net c# library that I have created that I am currently creating some unit tests for. I am at present writing unit tests for a cache provider class that I have created. Being new to writing unit tests I have 2 questions These being: My cache provider class is the abstraction layer to my distributed cache - AppFabric. So to test aspects of my cache provider class such as adding to appfabric cache, removing from cache etc involves communicating with appfabric. Therefore the tests to test for such, are they still categorised as unit tests or integration tests? The above methods I am testing due to interacting with appfabric, I would like to time such methods. If they take longer than a specified benchmark, the tests have failed. Again I ask the question, can this performance benchmark test be classifed as a unit test? The way I have my tests set up I want to include all unit tests together, integration tests together etc, therefore I ask these questions that I would appreciate input on.

  When an external library contains a LINQ provider, and it throws an exception when executing a dynamic expression tree, how can I break when that expression is thrown? For example, I use a third party LINQ2CRM provider, which allows me to call the Max<TSource, TResult>() method of IQueryable, but when it throws an InvalidCastException, I fail to break on the spot when the exception is thrown, making it hard to review the stack-trace because it's already unwinded when the debugger breaks it in my code. I've set "break on throw" for the mentioned exception. My debug settings are: Clarification on where exactly I'd want to break. I do not want to break in side the LINQ Expression, but instead, I want to break when the expression tree is executed, or, put in other words, when the IQueryable extension method Max() calls the override provided by the LINQ provider. • Java: How do I get the IP of the local interface that can reach a remote IP?

  I have a Java application that registers a server component in a service provider, and then sends the service name to a client. The client uses the service name to get an address out of the service provider to the server. However, the server has several interfaces only 1 of which the client get get at, so the service must be registered with the right IP. We discovered the client through a broadcast, so I have the client IP and an Enumeration of the computers network interfaces. How do I match the IP to an interface, not knowing what the netmask of the client IP is? Spontaneously I imagine turning all the addresses to ints and chomping the local ips with their netmask and looking for a 'best match', but I wonder if there is a better way? (this is an enterprise(tm) solution, so cutting out the service provider isn't an option, at least not w/o a political campaign first ;) )

• DirectX works for 64-bit but not 32-bit

  I'm trying to play a game (Civilization 5) which was previously working but no longer. I believe I've narrowed it down to a DirectX issue because I get an error running dxdiag.exe in 32 bit mode. My goal (at least I believe) is to get Direct3D Acceleration "Enabled" in dxdiag (as it is in 64 bit dxdiag). Like other users in that thread, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Direct3D\Drivers does not have a SoftwareOnly key to change. I even tried manually adding it as a string and dword, to no avail. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M, and before you ask, yes I've tried updating (also uninstalling, reinstalling) my drivers. I've also tried doing the same with DirectX (and Civilization 5 for that matter). Been debugging for some 4+ hours now after a full day of work and I've run out of ideas. I'm hoping somebody knows the solution here! :) Here's what I see when I open dxdiag: DxDiag has detected that there mgiht have been a problem accessing Direct3D the last time this program was used.
