  • swfobject weird behavior

    - by David
    Hi All, I'm using swfobject to embed my flash. It's doing weird things. I've created a simple textfield using FlexBuilder. It's an AS3 project, which extends Sprite. I've set its width to be 640 and height to 450. Then, in the swfobject parameters of the page, I've also set 640 x 450. I've made the background nice and red and ugly so you can see it. :) http://www.brighttext.com/flash/TextFieldSetFormat.html It seems to be the right dimensions. BUT I've got a textfield which is supposed to be almost the same size and height. This runs fine in FlexBuilder (is the right size) but is all messed up once I add swfobject Can anyone see what is happening? EDIT NOTE: I just looked at it and it looks ok. But then I refreshed the page and the textfield is postage-stamp size (again -- this is the original behavior I saw.) It's now looking OK in firefox but not in IE8. Flash is supposed to look the same in all browsers !!?? AS3 code: package { import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.text.TextField; import flash.text.TextFormat; import flash.text.Font; [SWF(width="640", height="450", backgroundColor="#FFFFFF", frameRate="30")] public class TextFieldSetFormat extends Sprite { [Embed(source='C:/WINDOWS/Fonts/ArialBD.TTF', fontWeight = 'bold', fontName='ArialBold')] [Embed(source='C:/WINDOWS/Fonts/Arial.TTF', fontWeight = 'regular', fontName='Arial')] public function TextFieldSetFormat() { var tf2:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); tf2.size = 16; tf2.font = "Arial"; Font.registerFont(_VerdanaFontBold); Font.registerFont(_VerdanaFont); var pad:Number = 10; var brightTextField:TextField = new TextField; brightTextField.backgroundColor = 0xDDF3B2; brightTextField.background = true; brightTextField.embedFonts = true; brightTextField.border = true; brightTextField.defaultTextFormat = tf2; brightTextField.wordWrap = true; brightTextField.multiline = true; brightTextField.width = stage.stageWidth - (4 * pad); brightTextField.height = stage.stageHeight - (3 * pad); brightTextField.x = 2*pad; brightTextField.y = 2*pad; brightTextField.text = "Dear Senators, I have become concerned over the idea that some in the Senate will oppose the public option because of a group of wild-eyed, overbearing but misinformed ideologues. These people mistakenly equate insurance reform with Socialism and call our first African-American President unprintable epithets. This is unacceptable. The public option is the choice of more than 70% of Americans, a majority of the House and a great many opinion leaders. Passing insurance reform without a public option persists the current broken system. I am aware that many Senators would prefer to pass a reform bill with bipartisan support. But we cannot allow this critical debate to be hijacked by extremists or corporate profiteers. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you."; addChild(brightTextField); } } }

  • copying link id to an input field

    - by zurna
    The code works fine when links are images. But I have a problem when there are flash movies. Another page opens with undefined in the address bar when it needs to copy the link id to imagesID input box. <script type="text/javascript"> var $input = $("#imagesID"); // <-- your input field $('a.thumb').click(function() { var value = $input.val(); var id = $(this).attr('id'); if (value.match(id)) { value = value.replace(id + ';', ''); } else { value += id + ';'; } $input.val(value); }); </script> <ul class="thumbs"> <li> <a class="thumb" id="62"> <img src="/FLPM/media/images/2A9L1V2X_sm.jpg" alt="Dock" id="62" class="floatLeft" /> </a> <br /> <a href="?Process=&IMAGEID=62" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a class="thumb" id="61"> <img src="/FLPM/media/images/0E7Q9Z0C_sm.jpg" alt="Desert Landscape" id="61" class="floatLeft" /> </a> <br /> <a href="?Process=&IMAGEID=61" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a class="thumb" id="60"> <img src="/FLPM/media/images/8R5D7M8O_sm.jpg" alt="Creek" id="60" class="floatLeft" /> </a> <br /> <a href="?Process=&IMAGEID=60" class="thumb"><span class="floatLeft">DELETE</span></a> </li> <li> <a class="thumb" id="59"> <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://active.macromedia.com/flash4/cabs/swflash.cab#version=4,0,0,0" id="59" width="150" height="100" style="float:left; border:5px solid #CCCCCC; margin:5px 10px 10px 0;"> <param name="scale" value="exactfit"> <param name="AllowScriptAccess" value="always" /> <embed name="name" src="http://www.refinethetaste.com/FLPM/media/flashes/7P4A6K7M.swf" quality="high" scale="exactfit" width="150" height="100" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" AllowScriptAccess="always" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?   • QuickBox2D poly behaviour vs box or circle

    - by Ben Kanizay
    Hi I've played a little with Box2D before and have just started using QuickBox2D which makes things heaps easier. I am however getting different behaviour with a specific poly shape than I am with a box. All other properties are the same. I've included 3 simple examples and their source below. What I really want to work is Example 1 with both objects as poly. As you can see, it seems like the 'paddle' poly is the one that's failing - the 'ball' (whether it's a poly or circle) just falls straight through it instead of bouncing off as it does with a box 'paddle' object. Would appreciate some help or insight. As I can only post one line at this stage, the swf previews of the 3 examples can be seen here Example 1 source: package { import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickBox2D; import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickObject; import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Eg1 extends MovieClip { private var sim:QuickBox2D; private var paddle:QuickObject; private var ball:QuickObject; public function Eg1() { this.sim = new QuickBox2D(this); this.paddle = this.sim.addPoly({ x:13, y:19, angle:0, density:0, draggable:false, isBullet:true, verts:[[-3.84,-0.67,-2.84,-1,-2.17,-0.33,2.17,-0.33,2.84,-1,3.84,-0.67,2.84,1,-2.51,1]] }); this.ball = this.sim.addPoly({ x:13, y:1, restitution:1, friction:1, draggable:false, isBullet:true, verts:[[-0.34,-1,0.34,-1,0.67,-0.33,0.67,0.33,0.34,1,-0.34,1,-0.67,0.33,-0.67,-0.33]] }); this.sim.start(); } }} Example 2 source: package { import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickBox2D; import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickObject; import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Eg2 extends MovieClip { private var sim:QuickBox2D; private var paddle:QuickObject; private var ball:QuickObject; public function Eg2() { this.sim = new QuickBox2D(this); this.paddle = this.sim.addBox({ x:13, y:19, angle:0, density:0, draggable:false, isBullet:true, width:8 }); this.ball = this.sim.addPoly({ x:13, y:1, restitution:1, friction:1, draggable:false, isBullet:true, verts:[[-0.34,-1,0.34,-1,0.67,-0.33,0.67,0.33,0.34,1,-0.34,1,-0.67,0.33,-0.67,-0.33]] }); this.sim.start(); } }} Example 3 source: package { import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickBox2D; import com.actionsnippet.qbox.QuickObject; import flash.display.MovieClip; public class Eg3 extends MovieClip { private var sim:QuickBox2D; private var paddle:QuickObject; private var ball:QuickObject; public function Eg3() { this.sim = new QuickBox2D(this); this.paddle = this.sim.addPoly({ x:13, y:19, angle:0, density:0, draggable:false, isBullet:true, verts:[[-3.84,-0.67,-2.84,-1,-2.17,-0.33,2.17,-0.33,2.84,-1,3.84,-0.67,2.84,1,-2.51,1]] }); this.ball = this.sim.addCircle({ x:13, y:1, restitution:1, friction:1, draggable:false, isBullet:true, radius:1 }); this.sim.start(); } }}

  • Lighttpd not cleanly restarting (address already in use)

    - by NilObject
    When doing a dist-upgrade recently, my lighttpd-1.4.19 install on Ubuntu 8.0.4 has begun failing to restart or reload properly with the /etc/init.d/lighttpd restart command. ~$ sudo /etc/init.d/lighttpd restart * Stopping web server lighttpd ...done. * Starting web server lighttpd 2009-06-13 04:06:36: (network.c.300) can't bind to port: 80 Address already in use ...fail! The same error occurs when I do a reload. The way I get around it is to kill lighttpd and then issue the start command, but it seems like I shouldn't have to do that :) I've looked at my config files, and can't spot any immediate errors. Does anyone have any ideas what can be causing this error? This seems to be the latest version as of writing this question that is available via the apt-get route. • Uploadify Not Working

    - by azz0r
    Hello, I'll re-edit this to tackle the uploadify issue. Its very strange, essentially the script isn't uploading and isn't triggering onAllComplete. Also if I try to upload an image that's to large, and click Upload files, it skips from 0 to 100%. But does not trigger onAllComplete. It does not upload either. Whats strange, is I have an earlier revision of this and the codes no different and it works, ive tried switched back to the same jquery/uploadify/layout and it still doesnt work. However due to the nature of uploadify not being very forthcoming about errors or whats going on, I can't figure out where its going wrong! Controller: public function manageImagesAction() { $id = $this->_getParam('id'); $object = Eurocreme_Gallery::load_by_fields(array('id' => $id), 1); $images = Eurocreme_Image::load_by_type(array('type' => 'gallery_id', 'values' => $id, 'from' => 0, 'to' => COUNT_HIGH, 'order' => 'gi.position ASC')); $this->view->object = $object; $this->view->images = $images; $this->view->headScript()->appendFile('/library/jquery/uploadify/swfobject.js'); $this->view->headScript()->appendFile('/library/jquery/uploadify/jquery.uploadify.v2.1.0.js'); $this->view->headScript()->appendFile('/library/jquery/ui.js'); } View: <div class="content-area"> <h1>Adding Images To "<?php echo $this->object->name; ?>" Gallery</h1> <p><input id="fileInput2" name="fileInput2" type="file" /></p> <p><a href="javascript:$('#fileInput2').uploadifyUpload();">Upload Files</a> | <a href="javascript:$('#fileInput2').uploadifyClearQueue();">Clear Queue</a></p> </div> <?php if (!empty($this->images)) { ?> <div class="content-area"> <h1>Order Images For <?php echo $this->object->name; ?></h1> <p id="status_update">Drop And Drag Images to re-order them, I will automatically save it for you!</p> <ul id="sort_list"> <?php foreach ($this->images as $image) { ?> <li class="removable" id="recordsArray_<?php echo $image->id; ?>"><img src="/images/Image/thumb/<?php echo $image->image_url; ?>" alt="<?php echo $image->name_url; ?>" title="<?php echo $image->name; ?>" /><p><a class="removable" id="<?php echo $image->id; ?>">Delete</a></p></li> <?php } ?> </ul> <p class="clear"></p> </div> <?php } ?> <?php $this->headScript()->captureStart(); ?> $('document').ready(function() { $("#fileInput2").uploadify({ 'uploader' : '/library/jquery/uploadify/uploadify.swf', 'script' : '/<?php echo $this->object->name_url; ?>/upload.php', 'cancelImg' : '/library/jquery/uploadify/cancel.png', 'folder' : '/images/Image/', 'multi' : true, 'onAllComplete' : function(e, queueId, file, response, data) { window.location.reload(); }, }) //sortable $(function() { $("#sort_list").sortable({ opacity: 0.6, cursor: 'move', update: function() { $("#status_update").html('Processing'); var order = $(this).sortable("serialize"); $.post("/administration/gallery/save-image-order/id/<?php echo $this->object->id; ?>", order, function(theResponse){ $("#status_update").html(theResponse); }); } }); //delete $('a.removable').click(function(){ var id = this.id; $.post("/administration/gallery/delete-image/gallery_id/<?php echo $this->object->id; ?>/image_id/"+id+"", '', function(theResponse) { $("#recordsArray_"+id+"").remove(); }); }); }); }); <?php $this->headScript()->captureEnd(); ?>

  • flash blocking javascript events

    - by jedierikb
    this is an edit of the original post now that I better understand the problem. now with source code! In IE, if body (or another html div has focus), then you keypress & click on flash at the same time, then release... a keyup event is never fired. It is not fired in javascript or in flash. Where is this keyup event? This is the order of event firing you get instead: javascriptKeyEvent:bodyDn ** currentFocuedElement: body javascriptKeyEvent:docDn ** currentFocuedElement: body actionScriptEvent::activate ** currentFocuedElement: [object] actionScriptEvent::mouseDown ** currentFocuedElement: [object] actionScriptEvent::mouseUp ** currentFocuedElement: [object] Subsequent keyup and keydown events are captured by flash, but that initial keyUp is never fired.. anywhere. And I need that keyup! Here is the html/javascript: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="p.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="swfobject.js"></script> <script> function ic( evt ) { Event.observe( $("f1"), 'keyup', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "f1Up" ) ); Event.observe( $("f2"), 'keyup', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "f2Up" ) ); Event.observe( document, 'keyup', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "docUp" ) ); Event.observe( $("body"), 'keyup', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "bodyUp" ) ); Event.observe( window, 'keyup', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "windowUp" ) ); Event.observe( $("f1"), 'keydown', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "f1Dn" ) ); Event.observe( $("f2"), 'keydown', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "f2Dn" ) ); Event.observe( document, 'keydown', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "docDn" ) ); Event.observe( $("body"), 'keydown', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "bodyDn" ) ); Event.observe( window, 'keydown', onKeyHandler.bindAsEventListener( this, "windowDn" ) ); Event.observe( "clr", "mousedown", clearHandler.bindAsEventListener( this ) ); swfobject.embedSWF( "tmp.swf", "f2", "100%", "20px", "9.0.0.0", null, {}, {}, {} ); } function clearHandler( evt ) { clear( ); } function clear( ) { $("log").innerHTML = ""; } function onKeyHandler( evt, dn ) { logIt( "javascriptKeyEvent:"+dn ); } function AS2JS( wha ) { logIt( "actionScriptEvent::" + wha ); } function logIt( k ) { var id = document.activeElement; if (id.identify) { id = id.identify(); } $("log").innerHTML = k + " ** focuedElement: " + id + "<br>" + $("log").innerHTML; } Event.observe( window, 'load', ic.bindAsEventListener(this) ); </script> </head> <body id="body"> <div id="f1"><div id="f2" style="width:100%;height:20px; position:absolute; bottom:0px;"></div></div> <div id="clr" style="color:blue;">clear</div> <div id="log" style="overflow:auto;height:200px;width:500px;"></div> </body> </html> Here is the as3 code: package { import flash.display.Sprite; import flash.display.StageAlign; import flash.display.StageScaleMode; import flash.events.KeyboardEvent; import flash.events.MouseEvent; import flash.events.Event; import flash.external.ExternalInterface; public class tmpa extends Sprite { public function tmpa( ):void { extInt("flashInit"); stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT; stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE; stage.addEventListener( KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, keyDnCb, false, 0, true ); stage.addEventListener( KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP, keyUpCb, false, 0, true ); stage.addEventListener( MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mDownCb, false, 0, true ); stage.addEventListener( MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, mUpCb, false, 0, true ); addEventListener( Event.ACTIVATE, activateCb, false, 0, true ); addEventListener( Event.DEACTIVATE, dectivateCb, false, 0, true ); } private function activateCb( evt:Event ):void { extInt("activate"); } private function dectivateCb( evt:Event ):void { extInt("deactivate"); } private function mDownCb( evt:MouseEvent ):void { extInt("mouseDown"); } private function mUpCb( evt:MouseEvent ):void { extInt("mouseUp"); } private function keyDnCb( evt:KeyboardEvent ):void { extInt( "keyDn" ); } private function keyUpCb( evt:KeyboardEvent ):void { extInt( "keyUp" ); } private function extInt( wha:String ):void { try { ExternalInterface.call( "AS2JS", wha ); } catch (ex:Error) { trace('ex: ' + ex); } } } }

  • Uploadify Minimum Image Width And Height

    - by Richard Knop
    So I am using the Uplodify plugin to allow users to upload multiple images at once. The problem is I need to set a minimum width and height for images. Let's say 150x150px is the smallest image users can upload. How can I set this limitation in the Uploadify plugin? When user tries to upload smaller picture, I would like to display some error message as well. Here is the PHP file that is called bu the plugin to upload images: <?php define('BASE_PATH', substr(dirname(dirname(__FILE__)), 0, -22)); // set the include path set_include_path(BASE_PATH . '/../library' . PATH_SEPARATOR . BASE_PATH . '/library' . PATH_SEPARATOR . get_include_path()); // autoload classes from the library function __autoload($class) { include str_replace('_', '/', $class) . '.php'; } $configuration = new Zend_Config_Ini(BASE_PATH . '/application' . '/configs/application.ini', 'development'); $dbAdapter = Zend_Db::factory($configuration->database); Zend_Db_Table_Abstract::setDefaultAdapter($dbAdapter); function _getTable($table) { include BASE_PATH . '/application/modules/default/models/' . $table . '.php'; return new $table(); } $albums = _getTable('Albums'); $media = _getTable('Media'); if (false === empty($_FILES)) { $tempFile = $_FILES['Filedata']['tmp_name']; $extension = end(explode('.', $_FILES['Filedata']['name'])); // insert temporary row into the database $data = array(); $data['type'] = 'photo'; $data['type2'] = 'public'; $data['status'] = 'temporary'; $data['user_id'] = $_REQUEST['user_id']; $paths = $media->add($data, $extension, $dbAdapter); // save the photo move_uploaded_file($tempFile, BASE_PATH . '/public/fonts/arial.ttf'; imagefttext($im, 13, // font size 0, // angle $size[0] - 132, // x axis (top left is [0, 0]) $size[1] - 13, // y axis $white, $font, 'HunnyHive.com'); switch ($extension) { case 'gif': imagegif($im, $pathToFullImage); break; case 'jpg': imagejpeg($im, $pathToFullImage, 100); break; case 'png': imagepng($im, $pathToFullImage, 0); break; } imagedestroy($im); } echo "1"; } And here's the javascript: $(document).ready(function() { $('#photo').uploadify({ 'uploader' : '/flash-uploader/scripts/uploadify.swf', 'script' : '/flash-uploader/scripts/upload-public-photo.php', 'cancelImg' : '/flash-uploader/cancel.png', 'scriptData' : {'user_id' : 'USER_ID'}, 'queueID' : 'fileQueue', 'auto' : true, 'multi' : true, 'sizeLimit' : 2097152, 'fileExt' : '*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.gif;*.png', 'wmode' : 'transparent', 'onComplete' : function() { $.get('/my-account/temporary-public-photos', function(data) { $('#temporaryPhotos').html(data); }); } }); $('#upload_public_photo').hover(function() { var titles = '{'; $('.title').each(function() { var title = $(this).val(); if ('Title...' != title) { var id = $(this).attr('name'); id = id.substr(5); title = jQuery.trim(title); if (titles.length > 1) { titles += ','; } titles += '"' + id + '"' + ':"' + title + '"'; } }); titles += '}'; $('#titles').val(titles); }); }); Now bear in mind that I know how to check images dimensions in the PHP file. But I'm not sure how to modify the javascript so it won't upload images with very small dimensions.

  • ExpressionEngine Segment Variables Lost on Site Index Page

    - by Jesse Bunch
    Hey Everyone, I've been messing with this for days now and can't seem to figure it out. I am trying to pass a 2nd segment variable to my client's index page. The URL I'm trying is: http://www.compupay.com/site/CSCPA/. The problem is, rather than showing the site's index page with the segment variable of "CSCPA" still in the URL, it shows the index page with no segment variables. Initially, I thought it was a .htaccess problem but I couldn't find anything in it that seemed out of whack. Any ideas? I am posting the .htaccess file so another pair of eyes can see it. • Three ways to upload/post/convert iMovie to YouTube

    - by user351686
    For Mac users, iMovie is probably a convenient tool for making, editing their own home movies so as to upload to YouTube for sharing with more people. However, uploading iMovie files to YouTube can't be always a smooth run, I did notice many people complaining about it. This article is delivered for guiding those who are haunted by the nightmare by providing three common ways to upload iMovie files to YouTube. YouTube and iMovie YouTube is the most popular video sharing website for users to upload, share and view videos. It empowers anyone with an Internet connection the ability to upload video clips and share them with friends, family and the world. Users are invited to leave comments, pick favourites, send messages to each other and watch videos sorted into subjects and channels. YouTube accepts videos uploaded in most container formats, including WMV (Windows Media Video), 3GP (Cell Phones), AVI (Windows), MOV (Mac), MP4 (iPod/PSP), FLV (Adobe Flash), MKV (H.264). These include video codecs such as MP4, MPEG and WMV. iMovie is a common video editing software application comes with every Mac for users to edit their own home movies. It imports video footage to the Mac using either the Firewire interface on most MiniDV format digital video cameras, the USB port, or by importing the files from a hard drive where users can edit the video clips, add titles, and add music. Since 1999, eight versions of iMovie have been released by Apple, each with its own functions and characteristic, and each of them deal with videos in a way more or less different. But the most common formats handled with iMovie if specialty discarded as far as to my research are MOV, DV, HDV, MPEG-4. Three ways for successful upload iMovie files to YouTube Solution one and solution two suitable for those who are 100 certainty with their iMovie files which are fully compatible with YouTube. For smooth uploading, you are required to get a YouTube account first. Solution 1: Directly upload iMovie to YouTube Step 1: Launch iMovie, select the project you want to upload in YouTube. Step 2: Go to the file menu, click Share, select Export Movie Step 3: Specify the output file name and directory and then type the video type and video size. Solution 2: Post iMovie to YouTube straightly Step 1: Launch iMovie, choose the project you want to post in YouTube Step 2: From the Share menu, choose YouTube Step 3: In the pop-up YouTube windows, specify the name of your YouTube account, the password, choose the Category and fill in the description and tags of the project. Tick Make this movie more private on the bottom of the window, if possible, to limit those who can view the project. Click Next, and then click Publish. iMovie will automatically export and upload the movie to YouTube. Step 4: Click Tell a Friend to email friends and your family about your film. You are also allowed to copy the URL from Tell a Friend window and paste it into an email you created in your favourite email application if you like. Anyone you send to email to will be able to follow the URL directly to your movie. Note: Videos uploaded to YouTube are limited to ten minutes in length and a file size of 2GB. Solution 3: Upload to iMovie after conversion If neither of the above mentioned method works, there is still a third way to turn to. Sometimes, your iMovie files may not be recognized by YouTube due to the versions of iMovie (settings and functions may varies among versions), video itself (video format difference because of file extension, resolution, video size and length), compatibility (videos that are completely incompatible with YouTube). In this circumstance, the best and reliable method is to convert your iMovie files to YouTube accepted files, iMovie to YouTube converter will be inevitably the ideal choice. iMovie to YouTube converter is an elaborately designed tool for convert iMovie files to YouTube workable WMV, 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, FLV, MKV for smooth uploading with hard-to-believe conversion speed and second to none output quality. It can also convert between almost all popular popular file formats like AVI, WMV, MPG, MOV, VOB, DV, MP4, FLV, 3GP, RM, ASF, SWF, MP3, AAC, AC3, AIFF, AMR, WAV, WMA etc so as to put on various portable devices, import to video editing software or play on vast amount video players. iMovie to YouTube converter can also served as an excellent video editing tool to meet your specific program requirements. For example, you can cut your video files to a certain length, or split your video files to smaller ones and select the proper resolution suitable for demands of YouTube by Clip or Settings separately. Crop allows you to cut off unwanted black edges from your videos. Besides, you can also have a good command of the whole process or snapshot your favourite pictures from the preview window. More can be expected if you have a try.

  • How do I manage library symbols with linked classes in Flash CS4 to compile/debug in Flash Builder 4

    - by wpjmurray
    I'm building a video player using Flash CS4 (hereby referred to as "Flash") to create the graphic symbols and compiling and debugging with Flash Builder 4 ("FB4"). Here are the steps I take in my current workflow: --Create the graphic symbols in Flash. I've created a few different symbols for the player, but I'll focus on just the play/pause button ("ppbutton") here. --In the Library panel, I go to the ppbutton symbol's Linkage properties and link to a class named assets.PlayPauseButtonAsset that extends MovieClip. I do not actually have an assets package nor do I have a class file for PlayPauseButtonAsset as Flash will create them for me when I publish. --In Flash's Publish settings, I set the project to export a SWC that will be used in FB4, called VideoPlayerAssets.swc. --After the SWC is created, I create my FB4 project called "VideoPlayer" and add the SWC to my path. FB4 creates the class VideoPlayer in the default package automatically. --In VideoPlayer.as, I import assets.*, which imports all of the symbol classes I created in Flash and are available via VideoPlayerAssets.swc. I can now instantiate the ppbutton and add to the stage, like this: var ppbutton:PlayPauseButtonAsset = new PlayPauseButtonAsset(); addChild(ppbutton); At this point ppbutton doesn't have any functionality because I didn't create any code for it. So I create a new class called video.controls.PlayPauseButtonLogic which extends assets.PlayPauseButtonAsset. I add some logic, and now I can use that new class to put a working ppbutton on the stage: var ppbutton:PlayPauseButtonLogic = new PlayPauseButtonLogic(); addChild(ppbutton); This works fine, but you may be asking why I didn't just link the ppbutton symbol in Flash to the video.controls.PlayPauseButtonLogic class in the first place. The reason is that I have a designer creating the UI in Flash and I don't want to have to re-publish the SWC from Flash every time I make a change in the logic. Basically, I want my designer to be able to make a symbol in Flash, link that symbol to a logically named class in Linkage properties, and export the SWC. I do not want to have to touch that .fla file again unless the designer makes changes to the symbols or layout. I'm using a versioning system for the project as well and it's cleaner to make sure only the designer is touching the .fla file. So, finally, here's the issue I'm running into: --As the design gets more complex, the designer is nesting symbols to position the video controls on the control bar. He creates a controlbar symbol and links it to assets.ControlBarAsset. The controlbar symbol contains the ppbutton symbol. --The designer publishes the SWC and ControlBarAsset is now available in FB4. I create new class called video.controls.ControlBarLogic that extends assets.ControlBarAsset so I can add some logic to the controlbar, and I add the controlbar to the stage: var controlbar:ControlBarLogic = new ControlBarLogic(); addChild(controlbar); --This works, but the ppbutton doesn't do anything. That's because ppbutton, while inside controlbar, is still only linked to PlayPauseButtonAsset, which doesn't have any logic. I'm no longer instantiating a ppbutton object because it's part of controlbar. That's where I'm stuck today. I can't seem to simply re-cast controlbar's ppbutton as PlayPauseButtonLogic as I get a Type error. And I don't want to have to make a class that has to instantiate each of the video player controls, the place them at their x and y values on the stage according to how the designer placed them, as that would require me to open the .fla and check the various properties of a symbol, then add those values to the code. If the designer made a change, I'd have to go into the code each time just to update those properties each time. Not good. How do I re-cast nested symbols to use the logic classes that I create that extend the asset classes? Remember, the solution is not to link Flash symbols to actual classes so I don't have to keep recompiling the SWC, unless there's a way to do that without having to re-compile the SWC. I want the designer to do his thing, publish the SWC, and be done with it. Then I can take his SWC, apply my logic to his assets, and be able to debug and compile the final SWF.

  • plupload variable upload path?

    - by SoulieBaby
    Hi all, I'm using plupload to upload files to my server (http://www.plupload.com/index.php), however I wanted to know if there was any way of making the upload path variable. Basically I need to select the upload path folder first, then choose the files using plupload and then upload to the initially selected folder. I've tried a few different ways but I can't seem to pass along the variable folder path to the upload.php file. I'm using the flash version of plupload. If someone could help me out, that would be fantastic!! :) Here's my plupload jquery: jQuery.noConflict(); jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#flash_uploader").pluploadQueue({ // General settings runtimes: 'flash', url: '/assets/upload/upload.php', max_file_size: '10mb', chunk_size: '1mb', unique_names: false, // Resize images on clientside if we can resize: {width: 500, height: 350, quality: 100}, // Flash settings flash_swf_url: '/assets/upload/flash/plupload.flash.swf' }); }); And here's the upload.php file: <?php /** * upload.php * * Copyright 2009, Moxiecode Systems AB * Released under GPL License. * * License: http://www.plupload.com/license * Contributing: http://www.plupload.com/contributing */ // HTTP headers for no cache etc header('Content-type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8'); header("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT"); header("Last-Modified: ".gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s")."     I am coding a web interface for a University project and I have been dealing with this issue: I want my footer fixed at the bottom so it is in place no matter which screen I am using or if I toggle the full screen mode It works in all the other browsers except IE7 (I do not have to support previous versions) HTML <div id="menu"> <a href="information.html" rel="shadowbox;height=500;width=650" title="INFORMATION" > <img src="images/info.png" alt="information icon" /> </a> <a href="images/bricks_of_destiny.jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery]" title="IMAGES" > <img src="images/image.png" alt="image icon" /> </a> <a href="music_player.swf" title="MUSIC" rel="shadowbox;height=400;width=600" > <img src="images/music.png" alt="music icon" /> </a> <a href="#" title="MOVIES"><img src="images/television.png" alt="movies icon" /></a> <a href="quotes.html" title="QUOTES" rel="shadowbox;height=300;width=650" > <img src="images/male_user.png" alt="male user icon" /> </a> <a href="#" title="REFERENCES"> <img src="images/search_globe.png" alt="search globe icon" /> </a> </div> <a href="images/destiny_1.jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery]" title="IMAGES"></a> <a href="images/destiny_carma_jewell.jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery]" title="IMAGES"></a> <a href="images/destiny-joan-marie.jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery]" title="IMAGES"></a> <a href="images/pursuing_destiny.jpg" rel="shadowbox[gallery]" title="IMAGES"></a> <div class="clear"></div> <div id="destiny"> Discover more about the word <span class="strong">DESTINY </span>!   • Problem with videos on heroku

    Hi, I have recently moved my RoR app on the Heroku platform, and almost everything works fine apart from the videos. It works fine when my app runs in local but not on heroku. This is the error log I'm getting, if anyone knows where it can be coming from: Processing VideosController#new (for IP at 2010-03-20 04:32:09) [GET] Session ID: 6abecf60c3369d7c7029e366bb801e08 • How to configure fastcgi to work with ligttpd in ubuntu

    I am able to run lighttpd on ubuntu 9.10. • doubt regarding carrying data in custom events using actionscript

    - by user267530
    Hi I am working on actionscript to generate a SWF dynamically using JSON data coming from an HTTP request. I receive the data on creationComplete and try to generate a tree like structure. I don’t create the whole tree at the same time. I create 2 levels, level 1 and level 2. My goal is to attach custom events on the panels which represent tree nodes. When users click the panels, it dispatches custom events and try to generate the next level. So, it goes like this : On creation complete - get JSON- create top tow levels - click on level 2- create the level 2 and level 3 - click on level 3- create level 3 and 4. …and so on and so on. I am attaching my code with this email. • Issues with Apache redirect to www-prefixed URL

    - by lamp_scaler
    I have a website with domain mysite.com. I would like to have it so that if a user types in "mysite.com" it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Additionally, "mysite.com/subdir" will also redirect to "www.mysite.com/subdir". I've looked and made changes with vhosts and also rewrites, but it's not working for the "mysite.com/subdir"-"www.mysite.com/subdir" case. Every time I type in "mysite.com/subdir", it will redirect to "www.mysite.com". Only "www.mysite.com/subdir" works. Not sure how to troubleshoot this. I turned on rewrite logs and didn't see anything obvious, yet. This is my config files so far. Please let me know what I'm missing. Thanks! FYI: I'm using CentOS 5.4, nginx 1.2.0 on top of Apache 2.2.3. The site itself is built with CodeIgniter framework. http.conf: ServerTokens Prod ServerRoot "/etc/httpd" PidFile run/httpd.pid Timeout 120 KeepAlive Off MaxKeepAliveRequests 100 KeepAliveTimeout 15 <IfModule prefork.c> StartServers 8 MinSpareServers 5 MaxSpareServers 10 ServerLimit 256 MaxClients 60 MaxRequestsPerChild 10000 #StartServers 8 #MinSpareServers 5 #MaxSpareServers 20 #ServerLimit 256 #MaxClients 256 #MaxRequestsPerChild 4000 </IfModule> <IfModule worker.c> StartServers 2 MaxClients 150 MinSpareThreads 25 MaxSpareThreads 75 ThreadsPerChild 25 MaxRequestsPerChild 0 </IfModule> Listen 69 LoadModule auth_basic_module modules/mod_auth_basic.so LoadModule auth_digest_module modules/mod_auth_digest.so LoadModule authn_file_module modules/mod_authn_file.so LoadModule authn_alias_module modules/mod_authn_alias.so LoadModule authn_anon_module modules/mod_authn_anon.so LoadModule authn_dbm_module modules/mod_authn_dbm.so LoadModule authn_default_module modules/mod_authn_default.so LoadModule authz_host_module modules/mod_authz_host.so LoadModule authz_user_module modules/mod_authz_user.so LoadModule authz_owner_module modules/mod_authz_owner.so LoadModule authz_groupfile_module modules/mod_authz_groupfile.so LoadModule authz_dbm_module modules/mod_authz_dbm.so LoadModule authz_default_module modules/mod_authz_default.so LoadModule ldap_module modules/mod_ldap.so LoadModule authnz_ldap_module modules/mod_authnz_ldap.so LoadModule log_config_module modules/mod_log_config.so LoadModule logio_module modules/mod_logio.so LoadModule env_module modules/mod_env.so LoadModule ext_filter_module modules/mod_ext_filter.so LoadModule mime_magic_module modules/mod_mime_magic.so LoadModule expires_module modules/mod_expires.so LoadModule deflate_module modules/mod_deflate.so LoadModule headers_module modules/mod_headers.so LoadModule usertrack_module modules/mod_usertrack.so LoadModule setenvif_module modules/mod_setenvif.so LoadModule mime_module modules/mod_mime.so LoadModule dav_module modules/mod_dav.so LoadModule autoindex_module modules/mod_autoindex.so LoadModule dav_fs_module modules/mod_dav_fs.so LoadModule vhost_alias_module modules/mod_vhost_alias.so LoadModule negotiation_module modules/mod_negotiation.so LoadModule dir_module modules/mod_dir.so LoadModule actions_module modules/mod_actions.so LoadModule speling_module modules/mod_speling.so LoadModule alias_module modules/mod_alias.so LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so LoadModule proxy_module modules/mod_proxy.so LoadModule proxy_balancer_module modules/mod_proxy_balancer.so LoadModule proxy_ftp_module modules/mod_proxy_ftp.so LoadModule proxy_http_module modules/mod_proxy_http.so LoadModule proxy_connect_module modules/mod_proxy_connect.so LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so LoadModule suexec_module modules/mod_suexec.so LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so LoadModule cgi_module modules/mod_cgi.so LoadModule version_module modules/mod_version.so #rpaf settings LoadModule rpaf_module modules/mod_rpaf-2.0.so RPAFenable On RPAFproxy_ips 127.0.0.1 RPAFsethostname On # The header where the real client IP address is stored.   • Flash AS3 Mysterious Blinking MovieClip

    - by Ben
    This is the strangest problem I've faced in flash so far. I have no idea what's causing it. I can provide a .swf if someone wants to actually see it, but I'll describe it as best I can. I'm creating bullets for a tank object to shoot. The tank is a child of the document class. The way I am creating the bullet is: var bullet:Bullet = new Bullet(); (parent as MovieClip).addChild(bullet); The bullet itself simply moves itself in a direction using code like this.x += 5; The problem is the bullets will trace for their creation and destruction at the correct times, however the bullet is sometimes not visible until half way across the screen, sometimes not at all, and sometimes for the whole traversal. Oddly removing the timer I have on bullet creation seems to solve this. The timer is implemented as such: if(shot_timer == 0) { shoot(); // This contains the aforementioned bullet creation method shot_timer = 10; My enter frame handler for the tank object controls the timer and decrements it every frame if it is greater than zero. Can anyone suggest why this could be happening? EDIT: As requested, full code: Bullet.as package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.events.Event; public class Bullet extends MovieClip { public var facing:int; private var speed:int; public function Bullet():void { trace("created"); speed = 10; addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,addedHandler); } private function addedHandler(e:Event):void { addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,enterFrameHandler); removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,addedHandler); } private function enterFrameHandler(e:Event):void { //0 - up, 1 - left, 2 - down, 3 - right if(this.x > 720 || this.x < 0 || this.y < 0 || this.y > 480) { removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,enterFrameHandler); trace("destroyed"); (parent as MovieClip).removeChild(this); return; } switch(facing) { case 0: this.y -= speed; break; case 1: this.x -= speed; break; case 2: this.y += speed; break; case 3: this.x += speed; break; } } } } Tank.as: package { import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.events.KeyboardEvent; import flash.events.Event; import flash.ui.Keyboard; public class Tank extends MovieClip { private var right:Boolean = false; private var left:Boolean = false; private var up:Boolean = false; private var down:Boolean = false; private var facing:int = 0; //0 - up, 1 - left, 2 - down, 3 - right private var horAllowed:Boolean = true; private var vertAllowed:Boolean = true; private const GRID_SIZE:int = 100; private var shooting:Boolean = false; private var shot_timer:int = 0; private var speed:int = 2; public function Tank():void { addEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,stageAddHandler); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, enterFrameHandler); } private function stageAddHandler(e:Event):void { stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN,checkKeys); stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_UP,keyUps); removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE,stageAddHandler); } public function checkKeys(event:KeyboardEvent):void { if(event.keyCode == 32) { //trace("Spacebar is down"); shooting = true; } if(event.keyCode == 39) { //trace("Right key is down"); right = true; } if(event.keyCode == 38) { //trace("Up key is down"); // lol up = true; } if(event.keyCode == 37) { //trace("Left key is down"); left = true; } if(event.keyCode == 40) { //trace("Down key is down"); down = true; } } public function keyUps(event:KeyboardEvent):void { if(event.keyCode == 32) { event.keyCode = 0; shooting = false; //trace("Spacebar is not down"); } if(event.keyCode == 39) { event.keyCode = 0; right = false; //trace("Right key is not down"); } if(event.keyCode == 38) { event.keyCode = 0; up = false; //trace("Up key is not down"); } if(event.keyCode == 37) { event.keyCode = 0; left = false; //trace("Left key is not down"); } if(event.keyCode == 40) { event.keyCode = 0; down = false; //trace("Down key is not down") // O.o } } public function checkDirectionPermissions(): void { if(this.y % GRID_SIZE < 5 || GRID_SIZE - this.y % GRID_SIZE < 5) { horAllowed = true; } else { horAllowed = false; } if(this.x % GRID_SIZE < 5 || GRID_SIZE - this.x % GRID_SIZE < 5) { vertAllowed = true; } else { vertAllowed = false; } if(!horAllowed && !vertAllowed) { realign(); } } public function realign():void { if(!horAllowed) { if(this.x % GRID_SIZE < GRID_SIZE / 2) { this.x -= this.x % GRID_SIZE; } else { this.x += (GRID_SIZE - this.x % GRID_SIZE); } } if(!vertAllowed) { if(this.y % GRID_SIZE < GRID_SIZE / 2) { this.y -= this.y % GRID_SIZE; } else { this.y += (GRID_SIZE - this.y % GRID_SIZE); } } } public function enterFrameHandler(Event):void { //trace(shot_timer); if(shot_timer > 0) { shot_timer--; } movement(); firing(); } public function firing():void { if(shooting) { if(shot_timer == 0) { shoot(); shot_timer = 10; } } } public function shoot():void { var bullet = new Bullet(); bullet.facing = facing; //0 - up, 1 - left, 2 - down, 3 - right switch(facing) { case 0: bullet.x = this.x; bullet.y = this.y - this.height / 2; break; case 1: bullet.x = this.x - this.width / 2; bullet.y = this.y; break; case 2: bullet.x = this.x; bullet.y = this.y + this.height / 2; break; case 3: bullet.x = this.x + this.width / 2; bullet.y = this.y; break; } (parent as MovieClip).addChild(bullet); } public function movement():void { //0 - up, 1 - left, 2 - down, 3 - right checkDirectionPermissions(); if(horAllowed) { if(right) { orient(3); realign(); this.x += speed; } if(left) { orient(1); realign(); this.x -= speed; } } if(vertAllowed) { if(up) { orient(0); realign(); this.y -= speed; } if(down) { orient(2); realign(); this.y += speed; } } } public function orient(dest:int):void { //trace("facing: " + facing); //trace("dest: " + dest); var angle = facing - dest; this.rotation += (90 * angle); facing = dest; } } }

  • Squid + Dans Guardian (simple configuration)

    - by The Digital Ninja
    I just built a new proxy server and compiled the latest versions of squid and dansguardian. We use basic authentication to select what users are allowed outside of our network. It seems squid is working just fine and accepts my username and password and lets me out. But if i connect to dans guardian, it prompts for username and password and then displays a message saying my username is not allowed to access the internet. Its pulling my username for the error message so i know it knows who i am. The part i get confused on is i thought that part was handled all by squid, and squid is working flawlessly. Can someone please double check my config files and tell me if i'm missing something or there is some new option i must set to get this to work. dansguardian.conf # Web Access Denied Reporting (does not affect logging) # # -1 = log, but do not block - Stealth mode # 0 = just say 'Access Denied' # 1 = report why but not what denied phrase # 2 = report fully # 3 = use HTML template file (accessdeniedaddress ignored) - recommended # reportinglevel = 3 # Language dir where languages are stored for internationalisation. # The HTML template within this dir is only used when reportinglevel # is set to 3.
