  • SQL query to count and list the different counties per zip code

    - by Chris
I have a sql server 2005 table called ZipCode, which has all the US ZIPs in it. For each entry, it lists the zip, county, city, state, and several other details. Some zipcodes span multiple cities and some even span multiple counties. As a result, some zipcodes appear many times in the table. I am trying to query the table to see which zipcodes go across multiple counties. This is what I have so far: select zipcode, count(zipcode) as total, county, state from zipcode group by zipcode, county, state order by zipcode Of 19248 records in the result set, here are the first several records returned: zipcode total county state 00501 2 SUFFOLK NY 00544 2 SUFFOLK NY 00801 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00802 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00803 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00804 3 SAINT THOMAS VI 00805 1 SAINT THOMAS VI 00820 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00821 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00822 1 SAINT CROIX VI 00823 2 SAINT CROIX VI 00824 2 SAINT CROIX VI In this particular example, each zip with a total of two or more happens to be in the table more than once, and it's because the "cityaliasname" (not shown) or some other column differs. But I just want to know which zips are in there more than once because the county column differs. I searched before posting this and I found many questions about counting records but I could not figure out how to apply them to my problem. Please forgive me if there is already a question whose answer applies to this question.

  • Google Maps API DirectionsRendererOptions not working?

    - by YWE
I am trying to use DirectionsRenderer to display a DirectionsResult without the route list. According to the API version 3 documentation, there is a "hideRouteList" property of the DirectionsRendererOptions object that when set to true should hide the route list. I cannot get it to work. Is this a bug or am I just not coding this correctly? Following is my code. <html> <head> <title>Driving Directions</title> <script type="text/javascript" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=false"> </script> <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- function initialize() { var dirService = new google.maps.DirectionsService(); var dirRequest = { origin: "350 5th Ave, New York, NY, 10118", destination: "1 Wall St, New York, NY", travelMode: google.maps.DirectionsTravelMode.DRIVING, unitSystem: google.maps.DirectionsUnitSystem.IMPERIAL, provideTripAlternatives: true }; dirService.route(dirRequest, showDirections); } function showDirections(dirResult, dirStatus) { if (dirStatus != google.maps.DirectionsStatus.OK) { alert('Directions failed: ' + dirStatus); return; } var rendererOptions = { hideRouteList: true }; var dirRenderer = new google.maps.DirectionsRenderer(rendererOptions); dirRenderer.setPanel(document.getElementById('dir-container')); dirRenderer.setDirections(dirResult); } --> </script> </head> <body onLoad="initialize();"> <div id="dir-container"></div> </body> </html>

  • How can I line up columns with Perl's printf when the value might be a number or a string?

    - by user317203
    I am trying to output a document that looks like this (more at http://pastebin.com/dpBAY8Sb): 10.1.1.1 100 <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> 72.12.148.186 94 Canada Hamilton ON 43.250000 -79.833300 0.00 72.68.209.149 24 United States Richmond Hill NY 40.700500 -73.834500 611.32 72.192.33.34 4 United States Rocky Hill CT 41.657800 -72.662700 657.48 I cannot find how to format the output I have to have a floating poing and format the distance between columns. My current code looks something like this. if (defined $longitude){ printf FILE ("%-8s %.6f","",$longitude); }else{ $longitude = "<unknown>"; printf FILE ("%-20s ",$longitude); } The extra "" throws off the whole column and it looks like this (more at http://pastebin.com/kcwHyNwb). 10.1.1.1 100 <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> <unknown> 72.12.148.186 94 Canada Hamilton ON 43.250000 -79.833300 0.00 72.68.209.149 24 United States Richmond Hill NY 40.700500 -73.834500 571.06

  • rails semi-complex STI with ancestry data model planning the routes and controllers

    - by ere
I'm trying to figure out the best way to manage my controller(s) and models for a particular use case. I'm building a review system where a User may build a review of several distinct types with a Polymorphic Reviewable. Country (has_many reviews & cities) Subdivision/State (optional, sometimes it doesnt exist, also reviewable, has_many cities) City (has places & review) Burrow (optional, also reviewable ex: Brooklyn) Neighborhood (optional & reviewable, ex: williamsburg) Place (belongs to city) I'm also wondering about adding more complexity. I also want to include subdivisions occasionally... ie for the US, I might add Texas or for Germany, Baveria and have it be reviewable as well but not every country has regions and even those that do might never be reviewed. So it's not at all strict. I would like it to as simple and flexible as possible. It'd kinda be nice if the user could just land on one form and select either a city or a country, and then drill down using data from say Foursquare to find a particular place in a city and make a review. I'm really not sure which route I should take? For example, what happens if I have a Country, and a City... and then I decide to add a Burrow? Could I give places tags (ie Williamsburg, Brooklyn) belong_to NY City and the tags belong to NY? Tags are more flexible and optionally explain what areas they might be in, the tags belong to a city, but also have places and be reviewable? So I'm looking for suggestions for anyone who's done something related. Using Rails 3.2, and mongoid.

  • Address String Split in javscript

    - by Arasoi
Ok folks I have bombed around for a few days trying to find a good solution for this one. What I have is two possible address formats. 28 Main St Somecity, NY 12345-6789 or Main St Somecity, Ny 12345-6789 What I need to do Is split both strings down into an array structured as such address[0] = HousNumber address[1] = Street address[2] = City address[3] = State address[4] = ZipCode My major problem is how to account for the lack of a house number. with out having the whole array shift the data up one. address[0] = Street address[1] = City address[2] = State address[3] = ZipCode [Edit] For those that are wondering this is what i am doing atm . (cleaner version) place = response.Placemark[0]; point = new GLatLng(place.Point.coordinates[1],place.Point.coordinates[0]); FCmap.setCenter(point,12); var a = place.address.split(','); var e = a[2].split(" "); var x = a[0].split(" "); var hn = x.filter(function(item, index){ return index == 0; }); var st = x.filter(function(item, index){ return index != 0; }); var street = ''; st.each(function(item, index){street += item + ' ';}); results[0] = new Hash({ FullAddie: place.address, HouseNum: hn[0], Dir: '', Street: street, City: a[1], State: e[1], ZipCode: e[2], GPoint: new GMarker(point), Lat: place.Point.coordinates[1], Lng: place.Point.coordinates[0] }); // End Address Splitting

  • Ruby - Nokogiri - Need to put node.value to an array

    - by r3nrut
What I'm trying to do is read the value for all the nodes in this XML and put them into an array. This should be simple but for some reason it's driving me nuts. XML <ArrayOfAddress> <Address> <AddressId>297424fe-cfff-4ee1-8faa-162971d2645f</AddressId> <FirstName>George</FirstName> <LastName>Washington</LastName> <Address1>123 Main St</Address1> <Address2>Apt #611</Address2> <City>New York</City> <State>NY</State> <PostalCode>10110</PostalCode> <CountryCode>US</CountryCode> <EmailAddress>[email protected]</EmailAddress> <PhoneNumber>5555551234</PhoneNumber> <AddressType>CustomerAddress</AddressType> </Address> </ArrayOfAddress> Code class MassageRepsone def parse_resp @@get_address.url_builder #URL passed through HTTPClient - @@resp is the xml above doc = Nokogiri::XML::Reader(@@resp) @@values = doc.each do |node| node.value end end @@get_address.parse_resp obj = [@@values] Array(obj) p obj end The code snippet from above returns the following: 297424fe-cfff-4ee1-8faa-162971d2645f George Washington 123 Main St Apt #622 New York NY 10110 US test.test.com 5555551234 CustomerAddress I tried putting @@values to a string and applying chomp but that just prints the newlines as nil and puts quotes around the values. Not sure what the next step is or if I need to approach this differently with Nokogiri.

  • alternative in .Net to building Tables/TR/TD manually?

    - by egrunin
I've got a pile of code here that looks like this: if (stateTax > 0) { tr = new TableRow(); tbl.Rows.Add(tr); td = new TableCell(); td.CssClass = "stdLabel"; td.Text = "NY State Tax"; tr.Cells.Add(td); td = new TableCell(); td.Text = string.Format("{0:C}", stateTax); td.CssClass = "justRight"; tr.Cells.Add(td); } This is a horrible hash of data and layout, but creating a special class or control every time something like this comes up seems almost as bad. What I usually do is write a helper function, which is concise but ugly: if (stateTax > 0) MakeRow(tbl, "NY State Tax", "stdLabel", string.Format("{0:C}", stateTax), "justRight"); And now I'm thinking: haven't I done this 100 times before? Isn't there a more modern way? Just to be explicit: it's a whole list of miscellaneous labels and values. They don't come from any particular data source, and the rules for when rows should be suppressed vary. This example has only two columns, but I have other places with more.

  • The Oracle Enterprise Linux Software and Hardware Ecosystem

    - by sergio.leunissen
It's been nearly four years since we launched the Unbreakable Linux support program and with it the free Oracle Enterprise Linux software. Since then, we've built up an extensive ecosystem of hardware and software partners. Oracle works directly with these vendors to ensure joint customers can run Oracle Enterprise Linux. As Oracle Enterprise Linux is fully--both source and binary--compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), there is minimal work involved for software and hardware vendors to test their products with it. We develop our software on Oracle Enterprise Linux and perform full certification testing on Oracle Enterprise Linux as well. Due to the compatibility between Oracle Enterprise Linux and RHEL, Oracle also certifies its software for use on RHEL, without any additional testing. Oracle Enterprise Linux tracks RHEL by publishing freely downloadable installation media on edelivery.oracle.com/linux and updates, bug fixes and security errata on Unbreakable Linux Network (ULN). At the same time, Oracle's Linux kernel team is shaping the future of enterprise Linux distributions by developing technologies and features that matter to customers who deploy Linux in the data center, including file systems, memory management, high performance computing, data integrity and virtualization. All this work is contributed to the Linux and Xen communities. The list below is a sample of the partners who have certified their products with Oracle Enterprise Linux. • Is Google Analytics Part Of Google's Search Engine Algorithm

    - by ub3rst4r
I was wondering if anyone knows if Google uses the data it receives from Google Analytics to help determine a websites SERP (Search Engine Rank Position). For example, if my website is getting 1000 users visiting my website from Canada and only 100 users visiting my website from the USA, does that mean my website will be ranked higher on Google.ca and lower on Google.com? And, if a website is using Google Analytics will it be ranked higher for the organic search engine keywords?

I'm trying to configure to put my website in "/home/websites/public_html/mysite.com/public" As I don´t have SELinux enable, how can I avoid the "403 Forbidden" that I get when trying to access the webpage?

Thanks to Richard and photographer Bob Adler for their hard work on the May issue.
