  • Window bounds set on window using AppleScript in OS X are being ignored

    I am trying to create a small AppleScript to create and move some Terminal windows around my screen. The problem I am running into is that in some cases, it seems that OS X is ignoring the bounds I am setting. Using the AppleScript Editor: tell application "Terminal" to set the bounds of the first window to {0, 50, 600, 700} tell application "Terminal" to get the bounds of the first window Shows the following in the Event Log: tell application "Terminal" activate set bounds of window 1 to {0, 50, 600, 700} get bounds of window 1 --> {0, 22, 600, 672} end tell Result: {0, 22, 600, 672} Visually inspecting the window that is created when the script runs shows that Result bounds are the ones being used by the window. Any ideas?

  • AppleScript: open frontmost file with another application

    I'd like to write an AppleScript program to do the following (Automator would be fine too): I want to open the current active TextMate file (possibly there are several tabs open and other windows) with the application Transmit 2. (This will upload the file over FTP using Transmit's DockSend feature.) Here I've used a specific application (TextMate) but ideally I'd like it to work for any file currently active in any application. Ultimately I will assign a keyboard shortcut to run it. Here's what I have so far: tell application (path to frontmost application as text) set p to path of document 1 end tell tell application "Finder" open POSIX file p using "Transmit 2" end tell I've tried many variants of this and nothing works. EDIT: I have found this page: http://wiki.macromates.com/Main/Howtos and someone has made exactly the script I'm looking for: tell application "Transmit" to open POSIX file "$TM_FILEPATH" This is for Transmit [not 2] and I think for TextMate pre v2. I get the error (when using Transmit 2): Transmit 2 got an error: AppleEvent handler failed. One of the updates to v2 has broken it (not sure which one).

  • Parsing xml with php and xpath

    Hey guys, I'm trying to parse an xml file to return a item with a specific id only, but having trouble making it work. here's what I have in php $xml_str = file_get_contents("test.xml"); $xml = simplexml_load_string($xml_str); $albid = $_GET['id']; $nodes = $xml->xpath('//library/book[@id=1]'); foreach($nodes as $node) { echo $node['title'].'<br/>'; } First, the php is not returning anything from the xml file. What would I need to fix to return the data? Also, how would I enter $albid into the xpath so that the id will be retrieved from the link? Any pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.   • NSPopupButton Bindings with Value Transformer

    I don't know if what I see with a popup button populated by bindings with a value transformer is the way it's supposed to be or not -- the unusual thing I'm seeing (at least with respect to what I've seen with value transformers and table views) is that the "value" parameter in the transformedValue: method is the whole array bound to the array controller, not the individual strings in the array. When I've done this with table views, the transformer is called once for each displayed row in the table, and the "value" parameter is whatever object is bound to that row and column, not the whole array that serves as the content array for the array controller. I have a very simple app to test this. In the app delegate there is this: +(void)initialize { RDTransformer *transformer = [[RDTransformer alloc] init]; [NSValueTransformer setValueTransformer:transformer forName:@"testTransformer"]; } - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(NSNotification *)aNotification { self.theData = @[@{@"name":@"William", @"age":@"24"},@{@"name":@"Thomas", @"age":@"23"},@{@"name":@"Alexander", @"age":@"64"},@{@"name":@"James", @"age":@"47"}]; } In the RDTransformer class is this: + (Class)transformedValueClass { return [NSString class]; } +(BOOL)allowsReverseTransformation { return NO; } -(id)transformedValue:(id)value { NSLog(@"%@",value); return value; } In IB, I added an NSPopupButton to the window and an array controller to the objects list. The content array of the controller is bound to App Delegate.theData, and the Content Values of the popup button is bound to Array Controller.arrangedObjects.name with the value transformer, testTransformer. When I run the program, the log from the transformedValue: method is this: 2012-09-19 20:31:39.975 PopupBindingWithTransformer[793:303] ( ) 2012-09-19 20:31:40.019 PopupBindingWithTransformer[793:303] ( William, Thomas, Alexander, James ) This doesn't seem to be other people's experience from what I can see on SO. Is there something I'm doing wrong with either the bindings or the value transformer?

    last days i spent my week @ firozabadthe town is much small and near to agraso i never forget to see the taj mahal and red fort their even it’s first chance to see them.i make a plan that i go to Agra last Saturday. firstly i go to red fort and i talking with many foreigner and they love to talking with me because their is only one man who with with them who is their GUIDE a person like a  book they never can talk with you but tell you about everything of the location because you buy them. their are many person come from various country such as German , Japan,  Russ , Italy and many other. their is no problem to talk with them perhaps they happen with talk to me. when i completely watch the Red fort at least i see a girl who are look like a foreigner. i talk themselves where they come from they tell me Francewhen i go elsewhere i thing to propose them to be  a friend of mine. i never propose any girl for friendship with me even in school and college. so i propose them to be a friend of mine.  they accept it i put the email ID in their hand whenever they gone. but i still not get their mail. 2ndly i go to Taj mahal the taj experience is not so good i spent 3 or 4 hours in rush. i found their is no security even their are many army force. they all person are too slow to work. they spent 10 minute to check  a person for security . their hands work very slow just like a low configuration computer. i talk many person their too. i talk to a person who tell themselves Jacob and they from Chicago. they speak very fast and i not know what they tell in speech. a another problem i got with some Chinese person. when i talking with them that i found they speak only Chinese language.     There is many tool exist to debug JavaScript visual studio , firebug and some other great plugin are one of them. here I show you solution for Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method  if you search on Google for how to debug Javascript in Visual studio. all of them told you to follow this instruction :- go to Internet option in IE > advanced tab > Browsing section > uhcheck the both option disable script debugging for IE (internet explorer) disable script debugging (others). that’s the information you read are outdate or not true these days. in visual studio you can play with JavaScript debugging even these option is check or unchecked. off-course you  can try these step in express version of visual studio. I found a little problem that my code [based on jQuery plugin] try to call some function. some of them not implement in browser so they call other so that’s fine and work in every browser. when visual studio found some function they trying to call and not implemented in browser I use to debug they tell me Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method  they tell me again whenever I put refresh [f5] in browser. so the thing they do you never like that. see error window first whenever code is not buggy and see everytime before see the page you want to see. this behavior harsh you. there is no problem whenever you not commonly used IE but whenever you really want to debugging you got some pain too from the behavior of this. well I have some patch for that if you really like the debugging in Visual studio with IE. so if you sure that code is not buggy or you really not want to see that’s window here is trick. when you debug the JavaScript in IE choose the compact mode and they never force you to see window first who tell the thing you not want to see. How to do that for reliefs from this pain in visual studio after debug the project or website IE gone automatically launch. go to Developer tool by pressing f12 > you see window something like this:- by the way they give you document mode IE 7 as default or browser mode based on your settings. first thing is that you need to set the compact view [any ] in browser mode. and next time the error window never come again who tell you Microsoft JScript runtime error: Object doesn't support this property or method

More screen space thanks to no tabs:-  they tell this nonsense without think anything. if they really care about more screen space why they make tab  in 7,8,9. conclusion:- IE team make a research on how to promote IE9 better then they can beat chrome and Firefox. because IE9 not have anything good like customization , plug-in ,add-ons , personas , themes and many other thing like chrome and Firefox provided perhaps IE is outdated thing even everyone their can writing about these days that IE9 have this, have performance better then this… the main problem in IE is IE6. many developer hate them because many of their time goes for making site cross browser compatible. in 2009 they still have no blah like IE9 who they have today so they make a campaign for save IE6. the list they make is a joke. they show that everything in IE6 is perfect even everyone know the truth. they listed IE6 is high security. in 2011 their is a problem for IE9 promotion called IE6. because developer hate IE6 how they can promote IE9 very well. so destroy IE6 is only option for IE9 make promote better. so you can see they make two different different campaign and both are opposite of other. well  how we can believe in IE9. thanks for reading this post. what you thinking on it. have a idea or feedback reported them.

    Please look at this auth.log (from Ubuntu 14.04) I have provided and tell me who this gdm user is and why there are all these unauthenticated logins? I am freaked out; please help! Is IE9 a modern browser? well Are you thing that they make something bettter then thing another that what Firefox and chrome do whenever Microsoft do this. that's point that Microsoft always blast IE because they make version upon version not upon update like Firefox make 3.6.14 after 3.6.13 and chrome give update soon as possible but IE not come soon. they will thing for making 10 instead of giving update on 9. well what they tell us new. they make fool public everytime i believe they make fool public as same as today they maked for version 9 they show developer tool in 9 have three new tabs or pael are this enough. whenever  in chrome and firefox their is many plugin who make development easier IE still have a developer tool who not have enough power like Firebug in Firefox. they show performance but forget luna user [window xp] and their IE never runs on other plateform but chrome and firefox can. no customization in IE whenever chrome and firefox have uncountable plugin and addons. show features now in IE who already implemented in firefox very early. well their is no rule that static goes right every time not sure that IE and Firefox both are right in their language. their is no one predict what thing goes better in future. so well keep a thing in mind never wasted time and also thing to make task easier even you need to use sollution opensource or closesoure inside or outside MS does not matter. well everyone tell you much more then they do even IE and some other. they never tell you this thing not in IE but in another can be found they never tell you use other whenever you need a thing and never can be found in their software. you need to more beware of IE because they make them commorcial not really for public if really then why they stop wxp user to use them as well firefox and chrome never force. because they need a thing that force more then more copy of windows sale. so they thing to add a thing in window 8. the IE9 they thing to make before that they thing to make  this for windows 8. they always force user to purchase this for this. this for this. and this trick sell their software. well outside MS Mozilla and Chrome all behave better with user and their feedback. they respect user their privacy and feedback. if you not believe that how much problem you found in IE and they got solved soon as in chrome and firefox bug kill soon. because IE not opensource we need to  boycutt them secondly their is no customization then they make user task easier even with twitter and facebook.

    I am installing a proprietary CAD application (MEDUSA4 personal) and the installer wants to know the path to my web browser (as a prerequisite for online help). I have the default firefox installation and chromium, but I don't know the installation path for any of them, and couldn't find them among the usual suspects (/usr/bin, /usr/lib). It would be nice if you could tell me the path to one of them, and even nicer if you can tell me how to find out the installation path to any package managed by apt.
