  • Theming Drupal Add Block form via forms API.

    Hiya, Can anyone advise me on customising the Add Block form? (/admin/build/block/add) I want to hide the "User specific visibility settings" and "Role specific visibility settings" from users. This is what i've got so far, but obviously it's not right and I can't figure out what the array is.   • Closing Windows Forms on a Touchscreen

    Our clients have fat fingers, and so do we. We take touchscreen netbooks apart to insert them into our custom hardware, and I write a software interface that shows up on the touchscreen. The problem is that it has about a 3/4" bezel over the screen, which means hitting that little red "X" becomes a challenge, especially considering reduced capacitive ability on the edges and corners. Is there a way to make this standard close button larger? Of course in the application I can always make really nice 80x80 buttons that are perfectly usable, but there seems to be no way to override the default frame of the form. We have tried enabling Large Fonts and all the built-in accessibility features, but nothing seems to make it large enough to hit successfully. Simply adding a toolbar button is also not much of an option. We prefer to utilize the standard look and feel of a normal Windows application. Alternatively, should we be looking at making some sort of "kiosk mode" where we simply go fullscreen and do nothing involving the taskbar or title bar? How difficult is this to accomplish, if so?

  • Baffled by PHP escaping of double-quotes in HTML forms

    I have a simple PHP script I use to front-end an SQLite database. It's nothing fancy or complex. But I have noticed from looking at the records in the database that anything I enter in a form-field with double-quotes comes across in the form-processing as though I'd escaped the quotes with a backslash. So when I entered a record with the title: British Light Utility Car 10HP "Tilly" what shows up in the database is: British Light Utility Car 10HP \"Tilly\" I don't know where these are coming from, and what's worse, even using the following preg_replace doesn't seem to remove them: $name = preg_replace('/\\"/', '"', $_REQUEST['kits_name']); If I dump out $name, it still bears the unwanted \ characters.

    I am trying to create a grid form for a survey question. value1 value2 value3 option 1 x option 2 x option 3 x Each cell in the grid is a radio button and the radio buttons in a row belong to one radio button group. My models: class Question # title has_many :answers end class Answer # name, position, atype(row/col) end I am struggling to come up with a Rails approach for creating such a form. To complicate the issue user can save the semi-completed form and complete it at a later time. What is the best approach for this problem?

I am trying to generate a form, with a dynamic number of text fields, to populate and edit the contents of my custom table.   • Design pattern for data entry forms with LINQ2SQL

    I am about to start a new winforms data entry application, it already has the database designed which I am comfortable with. I was going to use LINQ2SQL to access the tables to keep things type safe but am now wondering about design patterns, something I am just getting into. Since LINQ is giving me objects to use should I still create classes in between to hold the validation code and helper methods or should these just go in with the UI? It just seems I will end up with classes sat in between with little code which will cause the UI classes to have code just getting and setting values in the intermediate class and returning from validation to flag errors... Any good reading on this? Should I consider the entity framework (or similar) instead?

I have been able to add it to my site by copying the code from the site but I'm seeing that if I have a form in one of my tabs, I can't post any of the results successfully. A page could have a number of these links, and each link is for a specific "thing". I also have a piece of (unobtrusive) jQuery javascript that adds a click handler to each form as follows: $('a.form_submit').click(function(event) { $('form').submit(); event.preventDefauilt(); }); This works when there is one form on a page. However, if I have more than one form on a page, how do I ensure that clicking "Delete Thing 1" will trigger a submit() event only on the form with id='comment_1'?

  • Parent/Child forms communication issue

    Hi, I am very new to Visual C++ programming, but I have to write simple program which needs to do two things: ( I am using MS Visual C++ ) main ( parent ) form should be displayed when program starts, and after clicking a button on it, second form should be shown. Second form ( child ) also has a button, but this one should ( after clicking, of course ) show current X,Y child form position but on ( important ): parent form. And this is where i got stuck. I can display child form with: a) adding #include "child.h" in parent form.h b) adding child ^child_form; in public: section and afterwards using: child_form = gcnew child(); child_form-Show(); I was googling for two days now and cannot find a way to get it the other way: click on a button on child_form and display it's coordinates on parent form on label-text :/ when i tried to add #include "child.h" in child_form I just got error saying: "there are to many include files..." I really need to get this done and I would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance :)

  • Efficiently draw a grid in Windows Forms

    I'm writing an implementation of Conway's Game of Life in C#. This is the code I'm using to draw the grid, it's in my panel_Paint event. g is the graphics context. for (int y = 0; y < numOfCells * cellSize; y += cellSize) { for (int x = 0; x < numOfCells * cellSize; x += cellSize) { g.DrawLine(p, x, 0, x, y + numOfCells * cellSize); g.DrawLine(p, 0, x, y + size * drawnGrid, x); } } When I run my program, it is unresponsive until it finishes drawing the grid, which takes a few seconds at numOfCells = 100 & cellSize = 10. Removing all the multiplication makes it faster, but not by very much. Is there a better/more efficient way to draw my grid? Thanks

  • Why doesn't Win Forms application update label immediately?

    I am doing some experimenting with threads, and made a 'control' method to compare against where all the processing happens in the UI thread. It should run a method, which will update a label at the end. This method runs four times, but the labels are not updated until all 4 have completed. I expected one label to get updated about every 2 seconds.   • Prevent double submission of forms in jQuery

    I have an form that takes a little while for the server to process. I need to ensure that the user waits and does not attempt to resubmit the form by clicking the button again. I tried using the following jQuery code: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("form#my_form").submit(function(){ $('input').attr('disabled','disabled'); $('a').attr('disabled','disabled'); return true; }) }); </script> When I try this in Firefox everything gets disabled but the form is not submitted with any of the POST data it is supposed to include. I can't use jQuery to submit the form because I need the button to be submitted with the form as there are multiple submit buttons and I determine which was used by which one's value is included in the POST. I need the form to be submitted as it usually is and I need to disable everything right after that happens. Thanks!
