• configure postfix to send as different domains

  I have postfix configured to receive mail for multiple domains. The primary domain goes through a standard postfix setup, whereas a secondary domain is handed by a /etc/postfix/virtual.db file which maps addresses for the secondary domain to other unix users. Incoming mail works perfectly, but when I send mail as users on the secondary domain, the mail receiver still sees it as coming from [unix username]@[primarydomain].net. Can anyone help me figure out how to configure the virtual postfix domain to send mail through the same domain it receives it as?

• Excel file has disappeared from sharepoint document library

  Two days ago an excel came up missing from a document library. This document library only had this file and nows it's gone. When I go to All Site Content-Document Librarys it shows that there is still one file in the library. Seems like there is something screwy. Is there anything I can do to get this item to reappear?   How you go about finding information can be a very personal affair. We each have our own style of locating content, we each have our particular bent. But when it comes to getting started finding technical information, sometimes the simplest ways are best, especially if you are relatively new to a product or technology, and you just need to get going quickly with that Installation Guide or those Release Notes. With that in mind, I recently created an alternative home page for the Unified Communications Suite documentation. You can now have your Home2, in addition to the original, more wiki-fied Home1. I would recommend Home2 for those who are used to, and are more comfortable with, the spreadsheet-like view of manuals: here you'll find those familiar titles and the option to either view on the wiki or download the equivalent PDF file. Once you get familiar with what guides are available for the UCS component products, then move on to the Home1 layout, and start using some of the more advanced techniques for finding content in a wiki. Either way, you should be able to locate the "thing" you are looking for.

• How can I log the response header and body in apache?

  I need to determine whether the server (Apache 2) is returning the full contents of a page along with its correct header or not. I have a PHP-script that is executed successfully, but the browser is getting only half of the html content, it's simply cut off. The client infrastructure is pretty complicated, using Novell BorderManager Proxys and stuff. To ensure the server is doing its job fine I want to log both header and body of the reponse. How can I achieve this? I looked into the mod_log_config module of apache (which is already installed and ready to be used), but honestly I didn't quite manage to configure it to output header and body somewhere. edit: I managed to log the header with LogFormat "%h %l %u %t \"%r\" %s %b \"%{HEADER_NAME}o\"" common2 CustomLog /var/log/apache2/response.log common2 But unfortunately the mod_log_config formats don't support the whole content body. Can anyone help?

• Make Chrome always open PDFs itself

  Hi, I'm looking for a way to make Google Chrome always open PDFs with its internal viewer when I click a link, as opposed to downloading it to the default location. It works with most URLs, but some servers set a special header to force the file to be downloaded ("Content-Disposition: attachment;", e.g. http://www.uni-goettingen.de/en/46260.html). What I want is the opposite of this question: Stop PDFs from displaying inside Google Chrome, or what is asked for here, but applied to Chrome: How to ignore “Content-Disposition: attachment” in Firefox Btw., I'm running Chrome 8.0.552.0 dev on Ubuntu 10.4.

• Rowspan not using top row

  I don't understand why my column won't span to the top and bottom rows I created. It is supposed to look like the "Today" column is taller on the top and bottom then the other columns. I tried accomplishing this by adding rows above and below it and then using rowspan. For some reason, it only works on the bottom row. It's a lot of code, and I wasn't sure what I should cut without deforming it all or adding a new variable (it needs a fluid height). • Can I use Google AdSense within a banner rotator?

  I have 3 rotating banners on one 728x90 position on my website, so every time a page is loaded another banner is shown. One of these is AdSense. Is it legal, I mean is this strictly prohibited or not? Because, the code is basically stored in db table in my CMS module in Wordpress, so I guess it is OK. But I am asking to be sure. What is your personal experience? Does Google penalize sites with banner rotators?

  I just got a new laptop, HP dm4, and I'm having problems getting the audio to work properly on it. http://www.alsa-project.org/db/?f=7b697a35465a9f7236fb94deb9ff97fa65e55489 I tried to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and added: option snd-hda-intel model=ref this caused the audio to work, but it's muffled. I'm wondering if anybody knows what would be the correct options to get this POS to work.

• Live search/filter as you type in client approach

  As an exercise for myself to practice my JavaScript "skills" I'm trying to write a client-side filter. It should be able to filter "content blocks" as the user types. By "content block", I mean a list of DomElements that each contain at least one text node - it is possible that they contain more, and even a different amount of text nodes, nested inside other nodes, etc. I've thought of 2 approaches: On page initialization, scan all nodes and store all the text in some kind of Map or a tree. Simply iterate over every item and check whether it has the string to search/filter for. One could add performance here by caching, only filtering the current remaining items if text is added, etc. Obviously, if the number of nodes is really big, option 1 will take a while to build the 'index' but it will perform faster once it is built. Option 2 however will be available right on page load since no initialization is performed. But of course it will take longer to search. So my question is: what is the best approach here? And how would one implement 'caching' and/or 'index'?

• Alias one set of Subdomains to another

  I have to domains that I want to effectively mirror one another on select subdomains. Let's say they are pirates.com and ninjas.com and i want ninjas to mirror the content on pirates. When I visit foo.ninjas.com I want to see the content on foo.pirates.com. Due to app restrictions I need to do this in DNS for an undefined number of subdomains. I was under the impression i could do this with a CNAME, but it appears that setting a CNAME for * subdomain of the ninjas.com domain to point to pirates.com will make any subdomain of ninjas.com point at pirates.com instead of the associated subdomain. I.e. foo.ninjas.com would reference pirates.com instead of foo.pirates.com. Is there a way to do this using DNS? Am I missing something basic?

• Arguments for discouraging satellite sites?

  I am working with a client who's read about satellite sites on a SEP book and has been building hundreds of keyword reach domains (buytoyotacorona1989cheap.com, brandnewsuvinred.com) with specific content about such domains. They all link to a main domain (CompanyName.com) where most of the information is either repeated(from other sites) or new. I told him to drop all the other domains and only focus on building good content for the main site as it is too difficult to maintain so many websites, plus they might look like link farms to Google. He told me to make a Google search for "Buy Toyota cheap " and two of his websites were listed among top 10. So it's seem to be doing some good, but I get the feeling that what he is doing is wrong. What other arguments are there to discourage this practice? or is he doing the right thing? My arguments have helped him to decide go down from hundreds to close to one hundred (because cost of maintainance) but I believe he should only have one or two sites. PS: The business is not actually about cars.
