When I double-click a .wlog file, it opens up my application. However, it doesn't open the correct file. I read somewhere that JNLP was supposed to pass parameters to the main method indicating which file caused the app to be launched, but this is not happening (on OS X 10.6). I get an empty array to my application's main method. Probably unrelated, my splash screen doesn't work :( Any pointers on getting this working?

    I am developing an application to visualise some experimental data. One of its functions is to render the data in an NSOpenGLView subclass, and allow the resulting image to be exported to a file or copied to the clipboard. The newUTType comes from the IKSaveOptions panel.) This works fine when the file is exported as GIF, JPEG, PNG, PSD or TIFF, but exporting to PDF, BMP, TGA, ICNS and JPEG-2000 produces a red colour artefact on part of the image. Example images are below, the first exported as JPG, the second as PDF. Copy to clipboard does not exhibit this red stripe with the current implementation of image, but it did with the original implementation, which generated the imageRep using NSCalibratedRGBColorSpace rather than NSDeviceRGBColorSpace. So I'm guessing there's some issue with the colour representation in the pixels I get from OpenGL that doesn't get through the subsequent conversions properly, but I'm at a loss as to what to do about it. So, can anyone tell me (i) what is causing this, and (ii) how can I make it go away? I don't care so much about all of the formats but I'd really like at least PDF to work.

    I have a file with the top 1000 baby names. I want to ask the user for a name...search the file...and tell the user what rank that name is for boy names and what rank for girl names. If it isn't in boy names or girl names, it tells the user it's not among the popular names for that gender. The file is laid out like this: Rank Boy-Names Girl-Names 1 Jacob Emily 2 Michael Emma . . . Desired output for input Michael would be: Michael is 2nd most popular among boy names. If Michael is not in girl names it should say: Michael is not among the most popular girl names Though if it was, it would say: Micheal is (rank) among girl names The code I have so far is below.. I'm writing a little Java program (it's an ImageJ plugin, but the problem is not specifically ImageJ related) and I have some problem, most probably due to the fact that I never really programmed in Java before... So, I have a Vector of Vectors and I'm trying to save it to a file and read it. The variable is defined as: Vector <Vector <myROI> > ROIs = new Vector <Vector <myROI> >(); where myROI is a class that I previously defined. Now, to write the vector to a file I use: void saveROIs() { SaveDialog save = new SaveDialog("Save ROIs...", imp.getTitle(), ".xroi"); String name = save.getFileName(); if (name == null) return; String dir = save.getDirectory(); try { FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(dir+name); ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream(fos); oos.writeObject(ROIs); oos.close(); } catch (Exception e) { IJ.log(e.toString()); } } This correctly generates a binary file containing (I suppose) the object ROIs. First, I get a warning: warning: [unchecked] unchecked cast found : java.lang.Object required: java.util.Vector<java.util.Vector<myROI>> ROIs = (Vector <Vector <myROI> >) ois.readObject(); ^ I Googled for that and see that I can suppress by prepending @SuppressWarnings("unchecked"), but this just makes things worst, as I get an error: <identifier> expected ROIs = (Vector <Vector <myROI> >) ois.readObject(); ^ In any case, if I omit @SuppressWarnings and ignore the warning, the object is not read and an exception is thrown java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted; java.io.NotSerializableException: myROI Again Google tells me myROI needs to implements Serializable. I tried just adding implements Serializable to the class definition, but it is not sufficient. Can anyone give me some hints on how to procede in this case? Also, how to get rid of the typecast warning?

  • .NET GDI+ image size - file codec limitations

    Is there a limit on the size of image that can be encoded using the image file codecs available from .NET? I'm trying to encode images 4GB in size, but it simply does not work (or does not work properly i.e. writes out an unreadable file) with .bmp, .jpg, .png or the .tif encoders. When I lower the image size to < 2GB it does work with the .jpg but not the .bmp, .tif or .png. My next attempt would be to try libtiff because I know tiff files are meant for large images. What is a good file format for large images? or am I just hitting the file format limitations?     I have an unexpe`ted problem with my Android project. I have a real android device with ice_cream sandwich installed. My app was working fine during the development but after I added a class to the project, I got an error: Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK The problem is that everything is good in the manifest file. The minSdkversion is 8.   • Loop through several servers, find specific dlls , get the dll version, internal filename and path?

    I am a newby to Powershell, and using PS v2. I can see the massive potential it has, but I just can't get the following code to work fully. I am trying to end up with a csv file that contains the wild carded required dlls in the GAC_MSIL or sub-directory, get the dll version, internal filename and path, and the server IP address. The code is below, and it is in single line format because it appears easier to remote onto one of the servers in the server farm and run the single line from that console, ue to security log-ins etc. The code has produced a set of results, but only for the last server, it probably does the first server, then overwrites it but I am not sure about that. I have done a lot of reading about using arrays, and custom objects, and had a go at doing that, but my scripting skills in PS are not yet up to it. The third server shows the same, except it does not miss LINKINFO.DLL All servers are running IIS7 (7.5 for the R2 one) under a custom domain account that has been granted the necessary permissions: aspnet_regiis -ga [user] Load user profile is set to false on all three servers. I've tried setting this to true on one of the faulting servers, according to: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846816/iis7-failed-to-grant-minimum-permission-requests By running processmonitor I can see that it's now using the C:\Users\TEMP\AppData\Local\Temp directory for various temp files - the other ones are not using any such directory. So far I'll let it run in this way to see if this changes anything. I'm in doubt however given that the third server is not exhibiting the problems, yet still has "Load user profile" set to the same value, false. I've also tried running Fuslogvw on all three servers, logging binding failures to disk. All three servers report the same binding errors for VJSharpCodeProvider and CppCodeProvider, but these seem to be normal as well and can be solved by not defining the DEBUG and TRACE constants during build. We're running about 500 websites on each server (identical, load balanced), of which 50 are under moderate load, the problem has arisen both under heavy load as well as under minimal load however. Right now I'm waiting for the errors to happen again so I can hopefully see a pattern and determine whether "Load user profile" alleviates the issue. Any suggestions in the meantime would be very welcome! Also, I don't understand how the lack of "Load user profile" would cause an issue like this? And even further, how it would seemingly work on R2 but not on plain 2008? Thanks!

    Hi All, I have a customized OpenFileDialog (VS2008, C#, Windows Forms) with a ComboBox. The ComboBox will have a list of paths which the user can select. My question, is there a way I can change the directory in Open File Dialog to point to the path in the combobox selected item. InitialDirectory works only before I open the dialog, I wanted a way to change the directory programatically after the dialog is open. Thanks

    Hi, The default patch file viewer is messy (ie. no side by side diff view etc). I tried setting the path of beyondCompare exe in "Settings-Unified Diff Viewer-custom", but beyond compare also behaves same as default diff tool. Is there a way to atleast allow side by side diff in patch files ? If so, what is the method ? My aim is to allow emailing of changes so that they can be reviewed before I commit them :) Mishal
