Accessing Identity.AuthenticationType

While implementing a custom authentication type in a wcf service, I'm trying to read the property IIdentity.AuthenticationType using the call Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.AuthenticationType. Unless the account running the service is local administrator, UnauthorizedAccessException is thrown when accessing this property, much like described in this support thread. I can however reset the Thread.CurrentPrincipalobject without hassle, thus altering the Authentication Type - But read it, I cannot. Is running as an administrator the only way here or is there some trick to let the user running the service "just" access this property?

I mean this in a strong sense: if my program generator compiles, I want the type system to be strong enough that only type-correct programs can be generated. As far as I know, only metaocaml can do this. (No, neither Template Haskell nor C++ templates fit the bill -- see this paper).

MySQL - Calculate the net time difference between two date-times while excluding breaks?

In a MySQL query I am using the timediff/time_to_sec functions to calculate the total minutes between two date-times. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 = 120 minutes What I would like to do is exclude any breaks that occur during the selected time range. For example: 2010-03-23 10:00:00 - 2010-03-23 08:00:00 - (break 08:55:00 to 09:10:00) = 105 minutes Is there a good method to do this without resorting to a long list of nested IF statements?

I can see two obstacles in this scenario : 1-Make the compiler ignore non implemented interfaces. 2-Make the CLR ignore(or at least delay) the TypeLoadException with the following description : "Method SOMEMETHOD in type SOMETYPE from assembly SOMEASSEMBLY does not have an implementation." Is there a way to "declare" a variable with a particular user-defined type in MATLAB? zeros() only works for built-in numeric types. The only solution I've come up with involves using repmat() to duplicate a dummy object zero times: arr = repmat(myClass(), [1 0]) Without declaring variables this way, any code which does "arr(end+1) = myClass()" has to include a special case for the default empty matrix which is of type double. Have I missed something a little more sensible?
