I'm using Infinitest for continuous testing when I do java development and i really miss the instant feedback when I develop in .nET
How do I do continuous testing in C# & .NET?
I am developing a vb.net application in SQL server 2005 ,now i would like to import MS access database tables from a network into sql server 2005 database, using stored procedure or vb.net code without using SQL server 2005 Wizard . please find a sollution thanks a lot.
I have a rake task running on CC.NET that generates HTML test reports. I'd like these test reports to be stored against each build and be accessible from the CC.NET website when looking at the details of the build.
Is there a way of doing this or do you know of another continuous integration server that can do this?
how to get host name of all LAN systems using c#.net
through "net view" command am getting some systems host names, not able to access all the systems even though they are in the LAN. why so?
What should I do to host on my own machine a .NET web application(ASP.NET, Silverlight) with support Sql Server and services(RIA, WCF)?
What should I install and configure so others can interact with my application via the internet ?
It's some administration API which I can install on a PC and by which I can upload my app like in professional hosting?
Thanks for the help!
Is there a way to get the values of various properties of a (both .NET and non-.NET) DLL via C#?
I'd like to read the 'Product name' field in particular.
Im programming a small databased application. It worked fine, but now when i want to add a new table, the Server - Explorer freezes and my .net Studio too. If i try to make a new app with database, - wpf application with .net studio, -ADD Local Database - then try to add Table, my Database1.sdf disconnects and again freeze!
I am using Windows7 professional.

In light of this question I thought it'd be really neat to have a similar question about C#/.Net.
So, what is the most awkward or misleading method name of the .Net and/or C# API?
In what location does a compiled .net app look for .NET assembly file?
If the assembly file is not found in the application folder and not found in the GAC, where else will it look?
Which is a good .Net based CMS out there (for creating a corporate website). I have used Kentico CMS for some time, and am moderately happy with it.
However, is there anything better out there. I would like the ability to develop my own custom asp.net templates for various page types and install them.
Hi All
I want to develop and automate Office software like 'Microsoft Excel 2007' And 'Microsoft Word 2007'. But I do not know how to use VBA or use C#/.Net Framework to do so.
What are the benefits of using VBA vs .Net framework?
Which one should I focus on learning?
In C# I can do this:
new SomeObjectType("abc", 10);
In other words, I can call new without assigning the created instance to any variable. However, in VB.Net it seems I cannot do the same thing.
New SomeObjectType("abc", 10) ' syntax error
Is there a way to do this in VB.Net?
.NET 4.0 is meant to run side-by-side with 3.5 and won't run 3.5 apps, which is making me worried about having to instruct my users to download .NET 3.5 instead of just "the latest version".
I've read in a blog that the 4.0 installer will install 3.5 as well if it's not already installed but I can't test it right now, did anyone try this or have an answer from a trusted source?
In my development computer I have .net 3.0 and 3.5 installed.
I'm developing with vs2005 on .net FW3.0
How can I tell the application to use the 3.0 assembleis insted of the 3.5?
I have got a .NET winform application that uses a Web Mapping Service that is password protected. Unfortunately I cannot attach a username and password to requests, ( the request are generated from a GIS mapcontrol)
I can think of two ways around it
Intercept all web requests from my .NET app and add a username/password
Set up an Apache webserver and use proxypass to pass along my request adding a username/password
Does anyone know how to do either of these?
I have a Build Agent that was only dealing in .Net 4.0 RC stuff, and so only had .Net 2.0 (natively) and 4.0 (manually) versions installed.
It now needs to support stuff compiled against 3.5 SP1. Does anyone know if I'm asking for trouble trying to install 3.5 SP1 after 4.0 RC has already been installed?
Thanks in advance.
I'm writing a program in .NET that will need to utilize the statistical and data analysis functions of R or MATLAB. I have used R but am now contemplating moving to MATLAB since it has a .Net compiler while R can only interface via COM objects. Can anyone recommend going either way? I know MATLAB is infinitely more expensive than R (since R is free) but I'm thinking that may translate to an easier development cycle?
I'm running the following code to check for updates in my software, and I wonder whether VB.Net will automatically user computer proxy settings:
Dim CurrentVersion As String = (New System.Net.WebClient).DownloadString("URL/version.txt")
If not, how can I adapt it to use proxy settings?
Is there anything like Beanshell, which exposes CLR classes instead of Java classes, and lets you write scripts in C# or VB.Net (or any .Net language for that matter)
Should come in handy to test one-liner code snippets
I have a project with a requirement to get the BPM of a wave or MP3 file programmatically using .Net (VB.Net or C#).
Does anyone know of a binary or library for this or have a code snippet to steer me in the right direction?
We are running our applications on .NET 3.5 and are planning on either updating to .NET 4.0 or switching entirely to the Java platform, J2EE v6, as we've heard from some clients that "it's better."
Can anyone either explain some of the large differences between the two platforms and maybe what kind of costs would be associated with switching to Java rather than just updating, or point me to some articles or papers that make such comparisons?
Thanks!
