• How to duplicate INSERTS into a seperate table?

  An iPhone application I have installed uses an SQLite database to log entries with basic INSERTS and DELETES being performed on it. However I wish to keep a permanent log of the INSERTS made to this table, so when an INSERT occurs, I want it to be written to another table also as to create a log. I don't have access to the application source code in order to modify the SQL statements made, I do have access to the SQLite database. Can I do this with triggers? If so can somebody provide a short example.

  I am currently working with User objects -- each of which have many Goal objects. The Goal objects are not User specific, that is, Users can share the same Goal. I am attempting to fashion a way to calculate a "similarity percentage" between two Users... (i.e., taking into account how many Goals they share as well as how many Goals they do not share) Does anyone have experience with this type of situation? • If attacker has original data, and encrypted data, can they determine the passphrase?

  If an attacker has several distinct items (for example: e-mail addresses) and knows the encrypted value of each item, can the attacker more easily determine the secret passphrase used to encrypt those items? Meaning, can they determine the passphrase without resorting to brute force? This question may sound strange, so let me provide a use-case: User signs up to a site with their e-mail address Server sends that e-mail address a confirmation URL (for example: https://my.app.com/confirmEmailAddress/bill%40yahoo.com) Attacker can guess the confirmation URL and therefore can sign up with someone else's e-mail address, and 'confirm' it without ever having to sign in to that person's e-mail account and see the confirmation URL. This is a problem. Instead of sending the e-mail address plain text in the URL, we'll send it encrypted by a secret passphrase. (I know the attacker could still intercept the e-mail sent by the server, since e-mail are plain text, but bear with me here.) If an attacker then signs up with multiple free e-mail accounts and sees multiple URLs, each with the corresponding encrypted e-mail address, could the attacker more easily determine the passphrase used for encryption? Alternative Solution I could instead send a random number or one-way hash of their e-mail address (plus random salt). This eliminates storing the secret passphrase, but it means I need to store that random number/hash in the database. The original approach above does not require this extra table. I'm leaning towards the the one-way hash + extra table solution, but I still would like to know the answer: does having multiple unencrypted e-mail addresses and their encrypted counterparts make it easier to determine the passphrase used?

• Serial numbers generation without user data

  This is a followup to this question. The accepted answer is generally sufficient, but requires user to supply personal information (e.g. name) for generating the key. I'm wondering if it's possible to generate different keys based on a common seed, in a way that program would be able to validate if those keys belong to particular product, but without making this process obvious to the end user. I mean it could be a hash of product ID plus some random sequence of characters, but that would allow user to guess potential new keys. There should be some sort of algorithm difficult to guess.

When a button is pressed I want to save the text in the textview to the object being edited. How do I do this? I've been trying several things but none seem to work. Thinking about Core Animation, there's also this strange animationID parameter, but setting it to the exact same thing for dozens of simultaneous animations doesn't hurt the animations at all. So I guess it's probably the same thing here...or not?

  I have a test django app. In one page the test show the same question to all users. I'd like that when a user answers correctly, send a signal to other active user's browser to refresh to the next question. I have been learning about signals in django I learning work with them but I don't now how send the "refresh signal" to client browser. I think that it can do with a javascript code that check if a certain value (actual question) change and if change reload the page but I don't know this language and the information that I find was confused.
