• xcode linker error on iPhone app (Only on simulator)

  Im getting this linker error that won't let me compile. It only happens on the simulator. KEY POINTS: - Happens only in simulator - Similar to THIS question, but found no FRAMEWORK_SEARCH_PATHS in my .pbxproj file - Though my OS is 10.6.2, I had to build target 1.5 to avoid other linker errors - libxml2.dylib IS required and is in my Frameworks group - The other cited libraries I have never heard of. - Tried bringing in those other Libs under frameworks, didn't solve.   Hi Everyone, I want to query the DB through LINQ writing manual SQL, my linq method is: var q = db.TableView.Where(sqlAfterWhere); returnValue = q.Count(); this method queries well if the value passed to variable "sqlAfterWhere" is: (this variable is String type) it.Name = 'xyz' but what if i want to use IN clause, using a sub query. (i need to use 'it' before every column name in the above query to work), i cant use 'it' before the sub query columns as its a separate query, so what should i do, if i dont use any thing, and use column names directly it gives error saying " could not be resolved" where is my column names with out 'it' at the begining. So the query not working is: (this is a string passed to the variable above): it.Name IN (SELECT Name FROM TableName WHERE Address LIKE '%SomeAddress%') the errors come out as: Name could not be resolved Address could not be resolved The exact error is: "'Name' could not be resolved in the current scope or context. Make sure that all referenced variables are in scope, that required schemas are loaded, and that namespaces are referenced correctly., near simple identifier, line 6, column 25." Same error for "Address as well if i use 'it.' before these columns it gives error as: "The element type 'Edm.Int32' and the CollectionType 'Transient.collection[Transient.rowtype(GroupID,Edm.Int32(Nullable=True,DefaultValue=))]' are not compatible. The IN expression only supports entity, primitive, and reference types. , near WHERE predicate, line 6, column 14." Thanks for the help

• Testing movie with Flash IDE fails to load file from localhost

  Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody can help me with my simple but frustrating problem. I have created an SWF that loads an XML file from http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml, but I get this error when running the movie using Test Movie in the Flash IDE. Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2032: Stream Error. I have tried a adding wildcard crossdomain.xml file in my root web directory and setting the SWF publish properties for local playback security to Allow network only, but neither of these have solved my problem. I know Windows 7 handles localhost name resolution differently compared to previous versions of Windows but I have even added 127.0.0.1 localhost to my hosts file to no avail. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

  I have been trying to use the MyBatis generator on a Sqlite database but can't seem to find what settings to use for the XML attributes catalog and schema. • 500.19 error in IIS7 when an error occurs

  Setup: windows 7, IIS7. I am working on an app that is being viewed through the local IIS server, not the built in debugging web server. There is NO <customErrors> section in my web.config. When an error occurs, i see the following message: HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error Absolute physical path "C:\inetpub\custerr" is not allowed in system.webServer/httpErrors section in web.config file. Use relative path instead. I havent changed any settings of IIS7, so i don't know why this is occurring. • ASP.NET MVC in a subfolder (only) on godaddy

  Okay, I have read many of the routing posts concerning putting asp.net mvc on godaddy. However, I have not come to a solution to my current problem. I am trying to publish an ASP.NET MVC application to a subfolder on godaddy. I have upgraded the account to use IIS 7 and I have included the MVC dlls in \bin\ deployment method. However, I suspect that my route is not correct. Currently, my routes are set up with the standard out of the box route: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.IgnoreRoute("{resource}.axd/{*pathInfo}"); routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = "" } // Parameter defaults ); } I have a subdomain set up so that it looks like office.domain.com. The subdomain is pointing at a folder "/office/" which is right off the root folder. (There is not an MVC application installed in the root folder). All of my application has been placed in this 'office' folder. When I hover over the links however, the 'office' portion shows up in the link as well. e.g. Hovering over a link to the customer controller, index action yields "office.domain.com/office/Customer" as the target. This link then gets a 404 when I attempt to go to it. What should my route be to fix this? Is there something I have neglected in setting up the subdomain in godaddy? Is this something I just can't do in godaddy's domain management "tool". Do I need to set up a virtual directory for this instead of just a directory? Update: I changed the IIS settings in godaddy to use integrated pipeline mode, per this discussion and I am no longer getting 404 errors. The application worked just fine as suggested it would.

• Android -- Can't play any videos (mp4/mov/3gp/etc.)?

  Hello all, I'm having great difficulty getting my Android application to play videos from the SD card. It doesn't matter what size, bitrate, video format, or any other setting I can think of, neither the emulator nor my G1 will play anything I try to encode. I've also tried a number of videos from the web (various video formats, bitrates, with and without audio tracks, etc.), and none of those work either. All I keep getting is a dialog box that says: "Cannot play video" "Sorry, this video cannot be played." There are errors reported in LogCat, but I don't understand them and I've tried searching the Internet for further explanations without any luck. • Using Crypt function Python 3.3.2

  In Windows and Python version 3.3.2, I try and call the python module like so: hash2 = crypt(word, salt) I import it at the top of my program like so: from crypt import * The result I get is the following: Traceback (most recent call last): File "C:\none\of\your\business\adams.py", line 10, in <module> from crypt import * File "C:\Python33\lib\crypt.py", line 3, in <module> import _crypt ImportError: No module named '_crypt' However, when I execute the same file adams.py in Ubuntu, with Python 2.7.3, it executes perfectly - no errors. I tried the following to resolve the issue for my Windows & Python 3.3.2 (though I'm sure the OS isn't the issue, the Python version or my use of syntax is the issue): Rename the directory in the Python33 directory from Lib to lib Rename the crypt.py in lib to _crypt.py. However, it turns out the entire crypt.py module depends on an external module called _crypt.py too. Browsed internet to download anything remotely appropriate to resemble _crypt.py It's not Python, right? It's me...(?) I'm using syntaxes to import and use external modules that are acceptable in 2.7.3, but not in 3.3.2. Or have I found a bug in 3.3.2?

• Using QTDesigner with PyQT and Python 2.6

  Hi. I'm fairly new to Python and trying to work with the latest versions of QTDesigner, PyQT 4.7 and QT4.7 (I downloaded the whole package from PyQT4.7 website). I can't figure out how to make QTDesigner integrate closely with Python: ie. If I select "Form" View Code in QTDesigners menu, it errors saying "Unable to launch C:/Python26/Lib/site-packages/PyQT4/bin\uic." If I look in that directory there is a pyuic.py but not "uic". From searching online it seems this doesn't exist because it's expecting a C++ install instead of the python version. Is there anyway to make QTDesigner use/call pyuic.py to generate the code, then open an IDE or text editor of my choice to show me the PYTHON code generated by the QTDesigner-PyUIC chain? I'd like Designer to integrate closely with python, so I can make custom slots/signals in Designer while designing, then tweak the python code directly in my IDE later. If it is not possible to code directly inside QTDesigner using python, does that mean I have to hand code my programs entire UI directly in my PythonIDE? Using Designer directly would seemingly be nearly very very nice for a newbie such as myself, since I can see what properties each widget has and visually edit them while still learning the QT syntax without constantly having to use web resources to see what properties each widget should have and helps with boilerplate code generation, and what their defaults are, etc. I've googled and nobody seems to be using QTDesigner and Python in this manner together. It seems most are either handcoding all the QT code in their Python IDE of choice, or have found an obvious/easy method of doing what I want, therefore not really producing up to date tutorials on making this work together. Please enlighten me if you can. Thanks in advance for your time. Please include any suggestions you might have to a newbie trying to use Python with QT and QTDesigner. Thank you.

• Cannot debug views in MVC2 project, getting "The resource cannot be found" error

  I'm running Visual Studio 2008 sp1 on Win7, with MVC2 RTM installed. I created a new MVC2 project using the wizard and am unable to debug specific pages. With webforms and even MVC1, I was able to sit on a View page, hit F5, and then have the integrated web server in VS2008 start on the page I was working on. Very handy for building up app logic. When I try this now I get a "The resource cannot be found" error page. I retried this just now with a stock new MVC2 Web Application project. Here are the steps I took after creating the new project to reproduce: Open up project settings. Under the Web subtab, set the Start Action to "Current Page". Leave all the other settings as is. Open one of the views up (e.g. Account/Register.aspx) Hit F5 to debug the project Note that the browser window which displays shows the error message "The resource cannot be found". The link I saw in my browser for this run was: http://localhost:49471/Views/Account/Register.aspx I did some googling and found suggestions related to ensuring all HTTP server pieces were installed. I double checked and made sure that "HTTP Errors" and "HTTP Redirection" were both installed. If I leave the project setting as it was originally, set to "Specific Page" with nothing in the text box, then routing works and I always get the default home page. I'm hoping this isn't the only option. Thanks!

• How to Link VS2010 Database Project and LINQ to SQL

  As I am working with the new database projects in VS2010, and as I am learning LINQ to SQL, I am curious as to the best way to link the two groups of information so that when I update one, the other updates along with it. From my research here at SO, as well as in Google, it appears the general rule of thumb is: "Build the database, and then create your LINQ to SQL classes." Of course, if I make a change in my database, the LINQ to SQL doesn't update automatically and I have to do it by hand. This is fairly simple right now as my database is small, but I am curious if there is an easier way for this to happen. In addition, the LINQ to SQL tool is pretty nice. The ability to create tables, add associations, and even create inheritance is very simple. As my second question, I am curious as to whether or not VS2010 can work the other way - I design the database in the DBLM file and then link it back to my database project. I appreciate any help with either of these two questions. I'm really interested in making this as easy as possible to reduce errors during development and improve the speed at which changes can be made.

• Using M2Crypto to save and load X509 certs in pem files

  I would expect that if I have a X509 cert as an object in memory, saved it as a pem file, then loaded it back in, I would end up with the same cert I started with. This seems not to be the case however. Let's call the original cert A, and the cert loaded from the pem file B. A.as_text() is identical to B.as_text(), but A.as_pem() differs from B.as_pem(). To say the least, I'm confused by this. As a side note, if A has been signed by another entity C, then A will verify against C's cert, but B will not. I've put together a tiny sample program to demonstrate what I'm seeing. When I run this, the second RuntimeError is raised. • How to build google breakpad

  Hi, I'm totally lost on how to build Google's breakpad. There is a sln file, but it depends on a library that doesn't seem to have an associated sln. It seems to use something called gyp that I haven't figured out how to get working. • Resource not found using library project in Android

  I'm converting an existing project into a library project. I configured the original project as a library project and added an application project which references the original project as a library. The library project has an activity (MainActivity) and its layout (main.xml). The application project declares this activity as the main activity in the manifest like this: <activity android:name="com.example.MainActivity" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> When I run the application project I get the following error... android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: Resource ID #0x7f030002 ...on the following line of the onCreate method of the main activity: setContentView(R.layout.main); 0x7f030002 is the ID of R.layout.main in the library project. The application project has no main resource. If I run the original project I don't get this error. Both projects neither have compilation errors nor warnings and are built with Android 2.2 with min SDK version 3. What might be the problem?

  Hello Community, I successfully send Mails via SMTP using my Rails App and my Postfix Server. Now I need to move to an Exchange: Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service, Version: 6.0.3790.3959 that has POP3 and SMTP support enabled. I use actionmailer 1.2.5 and am not able to successfully login to the server while trying to send a mail. In case I use Mail.app sending and recieving works fine as long as I change the authentication schema to "Password". I have tried: http://developer.android.com/guide/google/play/licensing/setting-up.html#test-response Here it says that if you use a developer or test account on your test device you can set a specific response, I use LICENSED as response and still get NOT_LINCESED. Resetting the phone, clearing google play store cache, application data. Changing the versioncode number in different combinations still doesn't work. Edit: In case someone else was facing this problem I received an mail from the google support team We are aware that newly created accounts for testing in-app billing and Google licensing server (LVL) return errors, and are working on resolving this problem. Please stay tuned. In the meantime, you can use any accounts created prior to August 1st, 2012, for testing. So it seems to be a problem with their server, if I use the main developer thread everything works fine.

Now I want to employ my own model binder for reasons that I won't bother getting into at the moment. So I have; public class QuickQuoteBinder : DefaultModelBinder { public object BindModel(ControllerContext controllerContext, ModelBindingContext bindingContext) { quickQuote = new QuickQuote(); try { quickQuote.state = (Enumerations.AUSTRALIA_STATES) Enum.Parse(typeof(Enumerations.AUSTRALIA_STATES), bindingContext.ValueProvider.GetValue(bindingContext.ModelName + ".state").AttemptedValue); } catch { ModelState modelState = new ModelState(); ModelError err = new ModelError("Required"); modelState.Errors.Add(err); bindingContext.ModelState.Add(bindingContext.ModelName + ".state", modelState); } The problem is that for each property, and there are heaps, I need to do the whole try catch block. What I thought I might do is create an extension method which would do the whole block for me and all i'd need to pass in is the model property and the enumeration. So I could do something like; quickQuote.state = bindingContext.ValueProvider.GetModelValue("state", ...) etc. Is this possible?

I set the startup project to Azure, and I get 404 errors for any URL I try related to the service.   I have a program that uses urllib to periodically fetch a url, and I see intermittent errors like : I/O error(socket error): [Errno 111] Connection refused. It works 90% of the time, but the othe r10% it fails. If retry the fetch immediately after it fails, it succeeds. I'm unable to figure out why this is so. I tried to see if any ports are available, and they are. Any debugging ideas?
