• Detect browser focus/out-of-focus via Google Chrome Extension

  Is there a way to find out if Google chrome is in focus or out of focus? I'm creating an app which needs to know if the user is currently using the browser or not. By tying the detection through the content script in a Google extension, I've tried using blur and focus but the problem is that clicking on the address bar also fires a blur event. Same goes for detecting mouse movement, where moving the mouse outside of the viewing area will not be detected. I've also tried looking at onFocusChanged but it seems it only detects changes in chromes' windows not apps outside of Chrome. Anyone have other ideas for this? Also, would this be any easier if I created an add-on for firefox instead? Thanks!

  I have content on subdomain1.mydomain.com which can't reside on mydomain.com/subdomain1. Nevertheless, all my other content resides in folders of the mydomain.com/subdomain* type. For the sake of consistency, I'd like the content actually located at subdomain1.mydomain.com to appear as if it were on mydomain.com/subdomain1 — Is there any way, using .htaccess, that I can achieve this, bearing in mind that: (1) the subdomain itself also has a nested permalink structure, meaning that there are additional folders in the directory structure of the subdomain; (2) I want the browser to display the address as mydomain/subdomain1 after the redirect.

• fitbounds() in Google maps api V3 does not fit bounds

  hi, I'm using the geocoder from Google API v3 to display a map of a country. I get the recommended viewport for the country but when I want to fit the map to this viewport, it does not work (see the bounds before and after calling the fitBounds function in the code below). What am I doing wrong? The responsible library tells me it's the libxml2.2.dylib library with the problem, which I can't edit. Am I heading in the right direction? If so, half the leaks are in that library and well, i can't edit that.

  In trying to configure a .NET remoting setup over TCP, I've been having problems accepting outside connections (connections from any computer not on my LAN). I did some investigation and hit netstat -a as soon as my friend started to connect. Here's what I saw: TCP 0.0.0.0:2594 Taylor-PC:0 LISTENING ... TCP 192.168.1.102:2594 24-155-7-16:63588 ESTABLISHED TCP 192.168.1.102:62488 192.168.0.100:1554 SYN_SENT Now here's the weird part: 24.155.7.16 is my friend's IP (modified) and it says the connection is established. But the connection hangs until it times out. I then found out that 192.168.0.100 is his local address on his network. Something screwy's going on somewhere. My server and client are both TCPChannels, the latter initialized 'new TCPChannel( 0 ).' Localhost connections work when I run a client on the same machine as the server, but I can't accept remote connections. There is no port forwarding or firewall issue. Thanks for the help

  I installed .NET 3.5 SP1 on server which previously had .NET 3.0 SP2. Before install site was working perfectly. After install and subsequeny server restart, site displays but anything that makes use of the WCF service has stopped working. The exception log reports exceptions like the following when any calls are made to the client proxy: The communication object, System.ServiceModel.Channels.ServiceChannel, cannot be used for communication because it is in the Faulted state. The server's application event log gave the following errors after the install: Configuration section system.serviceModel.activation already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. Configuration section system.runtime.serialization already exists in c:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Config\machine.config. • Access virtualhosts over LAN (Also in xpmode (Virtual PC))

  Hi, I am running Wamp on my computer (the host). I have set up several virtualhosts in apache and they are working fine when I access them from the same computer (host). I have installed Windows XPMode on my computer (which is running windows 7). XPMode (which uses Virtual PC) is set up to use a NAT network. The network in XPMode is working fine, and I can access the host PC via the IP address 192.168.1.5, just as I would if I was using any physical computer on the same network. I can view all the web pages at 192.168.1.5 and it's subdirectories. However, I cannot access any of the subdomains that are configured in the virtualhosts of the host computer. How can I access the subdomains? I don't think that the fact that I am using XPMode and am using a virtualized OS has anything to do with it, but I thought that it was worth mentioning.

  I'm using Interop.Domino.dll to retrieve E-mails from a Lotus "Database" (Term used loosely). I'm having some difficulty in retrieving certain fields and wonder how to do this properly. I've been using NotesDocument.GetFirstItem to retrieve Subject, From and Body. My issues in this regard are thus: How do I retrieve Reply-To address? Is there a list of "Items" to get somewhere? I can't find it. How do I retrieve friendly names for From and Reply-To addresses? When I retrieve Body this way, it's formatted wierdly with square bracket sets ([]) interspersed randomly across the message body, and parts of the text aren't where I expect them.   Hi all, I'm trying to understand the rules for choosing an IPv6 multicast address Group ID, and the RFC seems somewhat inconsistent. If they are usable, is it only under certain circumstances (e.g. when using non-Ethernet networking technology?) What problems should I expect to experience if I set these bits when multicasting over an Ethernet LAN?

  Hi everyone, My situation is that the user is creating an entity on my site which contains the particlars of the driectors of that company, name address etc.. The Director form is a separate user control with the appropriate textboxes etc. At run time we don't know how many of these directors there will be so I need one to be able to use something like an "ADD DIRECTOR" or "DELETE DIRECTOR" button which will present or delete the another usercontrol to add the additional director. Currently I am trying to make this happen within a pane of the JQuery Accordion control. I have looked many places for how to do this but to no avail.   Hi, I'm trying to write a small application that simply reads data from a socket, extracts some information (two integers) from the data and sends the extracted information off on a serial port. The idea is that it should start and just keep going. In short, it works, but not for long. After a consistently short period I start to receive IOExceptions and socket receive buffer is swamped. The thread framework has been taken from the MSDN serial port example. The delay in send(), readThread.Join(), is an effort to delay read() in order to allow serial port interrupt processing a chance to occur, but I think I've misinterpreted the join function. I either need to sync the processes more effectively or throw some data away as it comes in off the socket, which would be fine.
