Different settings for secure & non-secure versions of Django site using WSGI

I have a Django website where some of the URLs need to be served over HTTPS and some over a normal connection. It's running on Apache and using WSGI. I just need a few settings to be different for the secure server, which is why I'm using a different WSGI script. Alternatively, it there's a way to change settings in the settings.py file based on whether the connection is secure or not, that would also work. Thanks

This is an addition to the stack of existing communication capabilities of B2B with trading partners. There are 2 ways of connecting to IBM MQ using B2B 1. Other Ideas to troubleshoot Cisco IPSec VPN on OSX?

We have one user running OSX Snow Leopard who is having issues staying connected to our VPN running off of an ASA5510. His connection can die even as he's actively pushing traffic across it or if he's been idle for a period of time. Other users on Snow Leopard, Lion, XP, Vista, 7 and various linux flavors are able to stay connected for 24hrs+ without issue We've deleted and remade the connection in System Preferences Networking, ran killall racoon (kills any lingering connections) Below are the logs from the user's system.log from a connect/disconnect cycle: Oct 10 21:22:25 username racoon[8192]: Connecting. Needs free/ opensource network monitoring tool for office LAN

I know there must be a lot similar questions on SU. Let me explain my setup first. I have 4-5 PC, Laptops and Few Android Phones in my office. To get them on a network , I have a UTStarCom, WA3002G1 ADSL2+ router with a landline broadband connection which has nothing to do with any PC except the configuration settings. Broadband channel is always on, we need to switch on the router and the internet is ready for us. No Internet Connection sharing is done via any PC. I have a limited 20GB monthly plan, which is consumed in 10-20 days, depending upon the download requirements. So in the above case, i need some suggestions from you: How do I monitor my Internet Bandwidth along-with the connected systems, realtime? Any free opensource tool available? Tweaks / Changes in PC to save bandwidth as my ISP do not have any Unlimited plan. PC and Laptops are Windows XP and/Or windows 7. Either of the platform tools are welcome.

HTTP downloads slow - FTP of same file very fast - Windows 2003

I am having some issues with download speeds on my site via http, i am averaging around 70kbps downloading a file that is around 70mb. But if i connect to my server via FTP and download the same file on the same computer / connection i am averaging about 300+kbps. I know my server has alot of connections at any one time, probably around 400 connections. My server has a 1gbps connection to the internet so there is plenty of bandwidth available, as proven with the FTP. I have no throttling of any kind enabled in IIS. Getting Xbox Live via a wired network with my laptop that has internet access wirelessly

I'm running the latest version (as of yesterday anyways) of Ubuntu Desktop 64bit, but installed on my laptop if it makes a difference. I had Windows 7 preinstalled when i bought it and it worked fine with the wireless from my house and bridging the connection with a LAN to my xbox for Live. Now with Ubuntu I tried the same setup, but I'm unfamiliar with Ubuntu so I didn't get far. Best I got so far is wireless internet on my laptop and a wired connection to the xbox that continually connects and disconnects. Heres my network settings. if theres fields not included its because theyre empty on mine or theyre my MAC address or network password Wireless Network 1 settings: Connect Automatically: Checked. Available to all Users: Checked Wireless: SSID: Franco's Mode: Infrastructure MTU: Automatic IPv4 Settings: Method: Automatic (DHCP) IPv6 Settings: Method: Automatic Wired Network 1: Connect Automatically: Checked Available to all Users: Checked Wired: MTU: Automatic IPv4 Settings: Method: Automatic (DHCP) IPv6 Settings: Method: Automatic Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: 6:26pm It seems to be staying connected now. Doing the Network test on my xbox it pickups the network, but cannot detect any PC. Restarting the Xbox, however, leaves my computer unable to connect bringing up the Wire Network disconnected 'blip' every minute or so again. Before I had restarted the Xbox it said "Connected 100 MB/s". Now it only says "connecting". I did have my computer and xbox on in this Wired Network Disconnected blip cycle for a long period of time so it may have finally connected, just without the ability to detect my laptop. I left for 2 hours or so in the middle of typing up the original question. I finished posting this when i got back and then tried to mess with it a bit again, in case youre wondering why i didnt include this before... I've said too much. Forgive my long-winded fingers :p

Can't change Hyper Terminal Hardware Settings

Anyone here any good with Hyperterminal? Am having a nightmare trying to use it at work to update our telephone extensions. The company who supply our PABX box have told me that XP does strange things to Hyperterminal and that I should use Win2k. Which I did with the same result. I have narrowed the problem dowwn to the Hardware Settings for the connection in Hyper Terminal. No matter what I set (and I need 7E1) it defaults back to 8N1. Has anyone seen this behaviour before and know of a simple way around it? (Apart from buying a more expensive commercial version of Hyper Terminal, as suggested by our support people). Edit: I should point out I have to connect via a phone line so a direct serial connection is not an option. Cheers Tim

Is there an open source license for this?

I have written code at home, on my own time and using my own knowledge and equipment, while under no contract or NDA. I want to make this code open source so that I can use it in software I write for an employer, without denying myself the right to use it at home or elsewhere later. I'm not sure if saying it is in the "public domain" would fit this purpose, or if I need to find an open source license. I want anyone to be able to use the code in closed source proprietary software with zero requirements for including a license with the source or binary. And I want to minimize the risk of anyone being sued for using it. (I'm aware that one can never be 100% safe from being sued.) Is there an open source license that fits this purpose? To what extent is what I want to do even possible? I wouldn't mind putting the license in comments in the code files themselves, but that obviously doesn't go with the binary.

VPN using Zywall

I've played around with a certificate based VPN (normally I don't do hardware) we've manged to setup the connection and the tunnel between the routers is working correctly. We now need the last step. There's no connection to the computers on the other end. What could we have forgotten? (we're testing with two standard configured Win7 machines) EDIT: Just to clarify the tunnel is working I can ping the router on the other end. I can't access the computers on the other side of that router and vice versa. (It's also possible to access the remotemangement console of the remote router on the LAN IP)

TightVNC (or any VNC) viewer windows scaling

Hi, I am currently using TightVNC to connect to multiple remote hosts in LAN. I start 16 VNC viewers, set Scaling by: Auto (in connection options display), and then select all viewer windows and use Tile Horizontally, which covers my entire screen with VNC viewers. It all works sort of nice, except that desktop interaction is really slow when there are more then 4 VNC viewers. My question is, does VNC client (not just TightVNC, but any compatible client) support some kind of smart scaling option, so that client tells server something along the lines of: "Okay, I'm displaying your entire screen in a window size 300x225 px, so can you please start sending encoded images on that resolution?", at which point interactiveness of open connections dramatically increase, and when I decide to go full screen on some connection, client and server re-negotiate and server starts sending full resolution images again? help with internet

hi all I have 3 PC's at home (with Win XP, Win 7 & Win 7) and a router. I am always connected to the internet through the router (PPoE connection). My problem is that sometimes when I want to search or open a page, my browser tells me that the server cannot be reached, as if I don't have a connection to the internet. Other times it logs me out from messenger, but browsing still works. FTP download/upload also works. If i disable and enable the LAN then all works fine. Anyone got any idea besides re-installing OS? thanks

apache is up but does not read requests

This usually happens a few minutes after restarting apache: httpd daemons are up, but are not reading the requests from the sockets. The web clients just wait forever on the connection. When I run netstat, the Recv-Qs are showing a positive byte count which does not change. So basically the connection between the client and apache is in the CONNECTED state but no progress is made. Restarting apache solves the problem for a couple of minutes, but then it's deja vu all over again. Other servers (sshd, ftpd, etc) are fine. Where should I look further? Any clue? Thanks!

How to completely remove a wireless network setup from vista?

To remove a wireless connection setup I basically go to (network and sharing center) then select (manage wireless network) and then from the list of wireless networks I right click on the one that I want to remove and select (remove network) from the drop down menu. Problem is that when I go to define the wireless network again the system said that the network connection already exist so it seems that even when the wireless network definition is not longer display in the connections list, Vista keeps the configuration somewhere. So How can I be sure that a particular wireless network has been completely removed?

What i am trying to do is raise the y value of a square for a certain amount of time, then raise it a bit more, then a bit more, then lower it twice. I cant figure out how to use acceleration/friction, and might want to do that too. P.S. - can someone tell me if i should post this on stackoverflow or not? Thanks all! Implementing 2D CSG (for collision shapes)?

Are there any simple (or well documented) algorithms for basic CSG operations on 2D polygons? I'm looking for a way to 'add' a number of overlapping 2D collision shapes. These may be convex or concave, but will be closed shapes, defined as a set of line segments, with no self-intersections. The use of this would be to construct a clean set of collision edges, for use with a 2D physics engine, from a scene consisting of many arbitrarily placed (and frequently overlapping) objects, each with their own collision shape. To begin with, I only need to 'add' shapes, but the ability to 'subtract', to create holes, may also be useful.

How do I get a Broadcom BCM4311 working?

I'm having serious problems installing the broadcom drivers for ubuntu 11.04. It worked perfectly on my previous version, but now, it is impossible. I'm a user with no advance knowledge in linux, so I would need clear explanations on make, compile, etc. I was following the instructions on the following blog, with no luck. Broadcom BCM4311 Wireless not working Can someone help me? Edit: For the command: "lspci | grep Network", I get the following message: 06:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01) For the command: iwconfig, i get the following: lo no wireless extensions. eth0 no wireless extensions. When i follow the following steps (from the above link), there are a NO error message at all: open the 'Synaptic Package Manager' and search for bcm uninstall the bcm-kernel-source package make sure that the firmware-b43-installer and the b43-fwcutter packages are installed type into terminal: cat /etc/modprobe.d/* | egrep '8180|acx|at76|ath|b43|bcm|CX|eth|ipw|irmware|isl|lbtf|orinoco|ndiswrapper|NPE|p54|prism|rtl|rt2|rt3|rt6|rt7|witch|wl' (you may want to copy this) and see if the term blacklist bcm43xx is there if it is, type cd /etc/modprobe.d/ and then sudo gedit blacklist.conf put a # in front of the line: blacklist bcm43xx then save the file (I was getting error messages in the terminal about not being able to save, but it actually did save properly). reboot 'End of procedure' Before (not ubuntu 11.04), if i wanted to connect wireles, i just went to the icon at the upper side of the screen, click, showed ALL the wireless network available, and done. Why are part-time jobs in programming an anomality?

I've recently quit my full time developing job at mega-corp, and I decided that I'll look for a part time job. Since then I've talked to half a dozen potential employers, and every one of them had the same reaction when I said the magic words "part-time" - they all closed up and became suspicious. Now, I understand that it might just be me, so as control I asked every one of them what if I were willing to work full time, and they all said I would probably get an offer. My question is two fold: Why, as an employer, would you give up a competent, even great, developer, simply because he wants to work 3 days a week and not 5? How do I sell the story of part time job better? I usually just list my reasons which are that I prefer that balance currently in my life and that I want to work on my own projects, but it leaves them even more suspicious - am I going to start something myself and quit? Am I just lazy?

Network connectivity logs on OSX

I'm trying to determine whether or not Macs store a log of network connectivity. Specifically, I'm trying to find out if one of my machines (Mac Tower, OSX 10.7.4, 2-2.26 GHz, 16 GB DDR3) lost connection to pinpoint an issue. This machine is on an external network where and the IT staff is not very helpful, so I'm trying to ensure that there were network issues rather than some other local issue on that particular machine. Can you pull network logs thru Console that show when a network connection was established and was disconnected?

Unknown protocol when trying to connect to remote host with stunnel

I'm trying to set up a stunnel for WebDav on Windows. I want to connect 80 port on my local interface to 443 on another machine in my network. I can ping the machine remote machine. However when I use the tunnel, I'm getting this error all the time SSL state (accept): before/accept initialization SSL_accept: 140760FC: error:140760FC:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:unknown protocol There is nothing in the logs on the other machine and here's my stunnel connection config [https] accept = 127.0.0.2:80 connect = 10.0.0.60:443 verify = 0 I've set it up to accept all certificates so this shouldn't be a problem with a self-signed certificate remote host uses. Does anyone knows what might be the problem that this connection cannot be eastablished?

How to reconnect to Remote Session in a script?

Hello, I need to persist a Remote desktop connection across a reboot of a Terminal server. I'm thinking that it would be something like a scheduled task that would run periodically and check the running state of the session and restart it if it's down. BTW, I did check the "Reconnect..." checkbox on the advanced tab of the connection options, but it still goes down everytime we restart the terminal server. Does anyone have the script that would accomplish the above in a scheduled task, or perhaps another solution?

What are the best social places for programmers to interact?

I know this is not really the right place for this type of question, but I figure it will get me started and hopefully won't be closed right off the bat. I love the programming industry a lot, but I don't have many colleagues that aren't introverted and/or anti-social, or self-centered. What are some good places online to find programming friends that I could share my adventures with? I love stack overflow but it is more technical and doesn't really allow you to put up a personal project just for people to see and critique. Any suggestions? A good forum would be great! The only ones I can find are usually full of inexperienced people who just "want" to be a programmer. I'm looking more for a place who's members are already programmers discussing programming topics.
