• Upgrade URL for SEO from mysite.com/dbtable_id/ to mysite.com/dbtable_id/article-title

  I have an existing journal website with the following url structure http://mysite.com/dbtable_id/ (eg. http://mysite.com/89348/) where 89348 is the primary key id of the journal article. I want to add the title of the article to the url for SEO purposes like http://mysite.com/dbtable_id/article-title (eg. http://mysite.com/89348/hello-world) I like this approach because I don't need to change the PHP code since it will still look up the article by dbtable_id. All I have to do is append url friendly titles to relevant links in template files and add one more rule to a .htaccess file. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Am I following best practices? Will the possibility for mismatch between "dbtable_id" and "article-title" affect SEO?

I have two models: class Account(models.Model): main_request = models.ForeignKey('JournalistRequest', related_name='main_request') key = models.CharField(_('Key'), max_length=100) class JournalistRequest(models.Model): account = models.ForeignKey(Account, blank=True, null=True) When I try to delete a JournalistRequest, It shows warning with a lot of nesting, like Are you sure you want to delete the selected ?????? ??? objects? All of the following objects and their related items will be deleted: Journalist Request: some request Account: some account Journalist Request: some request Account: some account Journalist Request: some request Account: some account Journalist Request: some request Account: some account Journalist Request: some request All accounts are the same one (ids are same), and all requests are the same one, so I think it becaues of a recursion.   I've created an experimental toy programming language with a (now) working interpreter. It is turing-complete and has a pretty low-level instruction set. Even if everything takes four to six times more code and time than in PHP, Python or Ruby I still love programming all kinds of things in it. So I got the "basic" things that are written in many languages working: Hello World Input - Output Countdowns (not as easy as you think as there are no loops) Factorials Array emulation 99 Bottles of Beer (simple, wrong inflection) 99 Bottles of Beer (canonical) Conjatz conjecture Quine (that was a fun one!) Brainf*ck interpreter (To proof turing-completeness, made me happy) So I implemented all of the above examples because: They all used many different aspects of the language They are pretty interesting They don't take hours to write Now my problem is: I've run out of ideas! I don't find any more examples of what problems I could solve using my language. Do you have any programming problems which fit into some of the criteria above for me to work out?

  Hello, I have a stored proc in SQL Server 2005, which looks like the following (simplified) CREATE PROCEDURE FOO @PARAMS AS BEGIN -- STEP 1: POPULATE tmp_table DECLARE @tmp_table TABLE (...) INSERT INTO @tmp_table SELECT * FROM BAR -- STEP 2: USE @tmp_table FOR FINAL SELECT SELECT abc, pqr FROM BAZ JOIN @tmp_table ON some_criteria END When I run this proc from SQL Server Management Studio, things work fine. However, when I call the same proc from a Java program, using something like: cs = connection.prepareCall("exec proc ?,"); cs.setParam(...); rs = cs.getResultSet(); // BOOM - Null! while(rs.next()) {...} // NPE! I fail to understand why the first result set returned is NULL. Can someone explain this to me? As a workaround, if I check cs.getMoreResults() and if true, try another getResultSet() - THIS time it returns the proper result set. Any pointers please? • Bad http connection (400) from Simple Native Iphone App to test .net Web Service

  Dear all, I have written a simple hello world .net web service which will accept 2 parameters and return the parameters as a string. The web service is hosted by IIS on a windows xp pc. I am able to access the web service using safari on the iphone simulator, successfully tested the operation using HTTP POST by clicking the "invoke" button. However, when I use the native app on the iphone simulator, I keep getting a bad http connection error 400 on the IIS log. I have tested my native app with http://viium.com/WebService/HelloWorld.asmx and it works. I have already added Does anyone know what is wrong? Is it some settings that have not configured correctly? • Delphi overwrite existing file on save dialog

  Hello everyone, I am using the TSaveDialog component to save a file from a button click. However, I am having trouble with saving on an existing file name. Generally, when you want to save over an existing file in Windows, a message box pops up asking you if you really want to overwrite the file. This is not the case with the TSaveDialog component and it will go ahead and write over the file without asking. I was hoping there was a TSaveDialog function or event that I could use but I have not seen anything that looks like it handles this. So it could be that I simplely haven't found the correct method to use. If there is an event, I could use if FileExists(saveDialog.FileName) then //and so forth but the events TSaveDialog has are OnCanClose, OnClose, OnFolderChange, OnIncludeItem, OnSelectionChange, OnShow, OnTypeChange... My question is, how do I pop up a message box to ask the user if they want to overwrite the existing file using the TSaveDialog component. Thanks.

The callback function on successful call would be something like this. It is being used to process the result BHUsers.prototype.recvAvailable= function(response){ // some kind of processing over here return (response["status"] == "OK")? "Available" : "Not Available"; } I want that fuction to return the processed result which can be used as a parameter to the function updateTips The primary goal of this is to be able to do all of this for multiple scenarios, rather than writing multiple functions for the same call.   Hello, I'm trying to pass the user on to the interface based on their cell selection in the UITableView, ie, if the user selects cell 1, they are taken to view model 2, containing UIWebView. UIWebView then displays local file, cell1.html. Currently, I've manage to get placeholder using: selectedCellText.text = selectedCell; to display the name of the cell selected.   Hello, A Facebook Sync app filled the address fields of my Mac Address Book contacts with their cities. Having tons of people who have useless addresses makes it difficult to search by people on Google Maps app (ending up scrolling through many many people- I only want to see those who have proper addresses entered). I want to clear all the home address fields in my address book using applescript.   Hello I have an application that outputs large amounts of text data to an MFC tree control. When I call SetItemText() with a long string (larger then 1000+ char) only the first ~250 chars are displayed in the control. But when I call GetItemText() on the item the entire string is returned (1000+ chars) My questions are; Is there a MAX visible string length for a MFC tree control? Is there any way to increase the visible limit? • Cannot Access Rails Server From Outside LAN

  Hello All This is my first post here. I have a rails server I'm running on a dedicated server that I have jail shell access to. I can start up a rails server and access it just fine using the text-based browser elinks running in that jail shell using both internal and public IP's. However, I cannot access the rails server from outside that chrooted environment. Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be going on? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  Hello, I have recently been introduced to EasyMock and have been asked to develop some unit tests for a FileMonitor class using it. The FileMonitor class is based on a timed event that wakes up and checks for file modification(s) in a defined list of files and directories. I get how to do this using the actual file system, write a test that writes to a file and let the FileMonitor do its thing. So, how do I do this using EasyMock? I read about sorting ArrayLists using a Comparator but somehow in all of the examples people used compareTo which according to some research is a method working on Strings... I wanted to sort an ArrayList of custom objects by one of their properties: a Date object (getStartDay()). Normally I compare them by item1.getStartDate().before(item2.getStartDate()) so I was wondering whether I could write something like: public class customComparator { public boolean compare(Object object1, Object object2) { return object1.getStartDate().before(object2.getStartDate()); } } public class randomName { ... When we integrate Rational ClearQuest and Rational ClearCase, the activities will be coming from the Rational ClearQuest. Now since the implementation of Rational ClearQuest will take time due to the process, we are thinking of removing the activity creation from the developer side. We are thinking of making the admin create the activities for each developer. Now I have a few concerns, If the admin creates the activities and changes the owner for the activity and the group using the protect command, Is it enough? Would this activity used by other developer too? Since activity is a work can this be shared? I need some clarity on this. Thanks.
