  • VS2010. Dropdownlist Autopostback works in IDE, not when deployed

    I have a VS2010 RC ASP.NET web page,when a user changes the drop down selection on an auto postback dropdown, it refreshes a small grid and a few labels in various places on the page. I know wrapping a whole page in a big UpdatePanel control will cause horror from many of you, but that's what I did. I really didn't want a full page refresh and I didn't know how to update a table on the client side using Javascript and I figured it would be a big change. Suggestions for avoiding this are welcomed, but my main desire is to understand teh error I am getting. When I do the auto postbacks in the IDE, everything works fine, but if I deploy the code (IIS 5.5 on XP), the second auto postback works but the seconds one gives me his error. Ajax is one big nasty blackbox to me. Can someone help, please?     I have a silverlight user control login page and want to implant a cookie with sliding expiration so that it can be picked on the aspx page during refresh. Samples over the web shows fixed expiration, is there a way we can put a sliding expiration. Or, How do you handle login refresh in silverlight client.

  • Symfony 1.4: Custom error message for CSRF in forms

    Hi, Can anyone tell me where/how to customise the CSRF token error message for forms in Symfony 1.4. I'm using sfDoctrineGuard for logins and in this form particularly, whenever a session runs out and you still have the page open, it throws a very user-unfriendly error: "CSRF attack detected". Something like "This session has expired. Please return to the home page and try again" sounds better. What's the right way to do this in the form class? Thanks.

    I am designing website for mobile access and I want to set page width, height and button sizes, so they display filling up the screen. For example if user is using HTC HD , the whole screen would be 480x800 with button sized 240x200. However IE mobile as well as Opera load the page with some zoom level, so the buttons display either too large or too small. How can I either read current zoom level in javascript or set it from javascript?

  • Firebug not breaking on errors

    Hi. I reinstalled Firefox today, because... whatever. I reinstalled firebug, therefully, and now when I try to use it, it's all different. I believe it is the same version I had before. In fact, I even went digging through my trash and replaced the new firebug with the one I removed with the old Firefox. They ended up being the same version (1.5.3). My issue is, when I have an error in my script somewhere, it used to be that if on the script pane of firebug, the script would break on the error, and the script page would go to the offending line, highlighted, and all was right with the world. Now, it logs the error in the console, and that's it. I've spent the better part of the last hour trying to convince myself this isn't worth an ulcer; I am losing the battle, though. I've searched Google, put ads on Craigslist, even thought about becoming a cop. There were some examples on the Firebug dox, but none of them helped. A bunch of old references to a mysterious (break on all errors) option; an option which I think I might have set by accident--there is a little red circle-slash on my pause button (that's what she said), but there the script continues, all on its own. There was a guide somewhere on the firebug pages that spoke of setting the breakpoint next to the error in the console. I, however, don't have this option for some reason. The line of code is there in the console, but no breakpoint button next to it. This, however, would not be ideal even if it worked. I liked it when I could have the script page open, and if there were errors it would jump to that line. I could try to fix it, and re-load the page. If that line was fixed, GREAT, on to the next error on the page -- which would be highlighted and ready. I would like to offer a solicitation of help. Help.

    I am using FBML for rendering certain elements on the page such as the name of the user, profil pic, etc. However when there are many FBML elements on page, there is a slight delay which occurs before they are rendered - that's fine since AJAX calls are made to the server to fetch the data by the JS FB library. However, I want to hide the container DIV holding these element till the elements have finished loading, so is there any way to specify a JS callback function which gets fired when the FBML data has finished loading?

    Hi, I was using the sys.ui.dataview, ado.net data services and a html page to provide an edit page. It was working fine, but when I wanted to apply some ACT features, for instance watermark or autocomplete on a textbox (input) within the dataview div, its not applied. However, when I move that text box, out of the div, it is working fine and the watermark effect was applied. Am I doing something wrong or any advice ? Thanks

  • Firefox crashes with mulitple Uploadify JQuery browse buttons and ajax

    Hi, I'm using four JQuery Uploadify browse buttons on a page that's calling the Uploadify code/buttons through Ajax. We have a javascript function called from onComplete which refreshes the Ajax page. The problem we're encountering is that when you start uploading one file, if you click browse to upload another file, Firefox will crash when selecting the second file. Any help is appreciated.   • WebBrowser.InnerHtml strange behavior

    I'm trying to load page and then remove some elements in it. While doing that I encountered strange behavior. When I do webBrowser1.Document.Body.InnerHtml = webBrowser1.Document.Body.InnerHtml; It turns off some JavaScript code, for example for Google.com it turns off auto completion. Why is that? I suppose it has something to do with JavaScript initialization, if so how can I reinitialize the page?
