I have an array of objects that looks like this: [{ name: 'test', size: 0, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test' }, { name: 'asdf', size: 170, type: 'directory', path: '/storage/test/asdf' }, { name: '2.txt', size: 0, type: 'file', path: '/storage/test/asdf/2.txt' }] There could be any number of arbitrary path's, this is the result of iterating through files and folders within a directory. What I'm trying to do is determine the 'root' node of these. Ultimately, this will be stored in mongodb and use materialized path to determine it's relationships. In this example, /storage/test is a root with no parent. /storage/test/asdf has the parent of /storage/test which is the parent to /storage/test/asdf/2.txt. My question is, how would you go about iterating through this array, to determine the parent's and associated children? Any help in the right direction would be great! Thank you

Creating objects and referencing before saving object to db

Sorry about the vague title, but i didnt know how to ask the question in one line :) I have an order with nested itemgroups that again have nested items. the user specify the amount of item that he would like to have in each itemgroup. I would like to create these items in the create method of the orders controller when the order itself is being created. I kinda have 2 problems here. First, how do i set the reference of the items, or better yet, put the items into the @order object so they are saved when the @order is saved? the items are being stored in the db as the code is now, but the reference is not set because the order is not stored in the db yet so it doesnt have an id yet. Second, im not sure im using the correct way to get the id from my itemgroup. @order = Order.new(params[:order]) @order.itemgroups.each do |f| f.amount.times do @item = Item.new() @item.itemgroup_id = f.id @item.save end end

Are there any test data generator tools which can be used with selenium/Nunit?

Hi, I was wondering if there was anything that provides test data for injecting into Nunit tests? I'm sure I came across something recently that does this but I couldn't find it again. Basically the idea is that I could use selenium and Nunit to create new customers within the system automatically. So I could have selenium type in customer names generated from test generator (the < DataGenerator is just an imaginary class): e.g. dim sFirstName as string = < DataGenerator >.GetRandomFirstName() dim sLastName as string = < DataGenerator >.GetRandomLastName() selenium.type("firstname_field",sFirstName) selenium.type("lastname_field",sLastName ) I've already seen SQLDataGenerator from Redgate which has a cmd line wrapper class, but I was wondering if there was anything else.

Iphone UI Size / Layout Resource?

Is anyone aware of a website or download to reference for the size of UI elements or standard iphone interface stuff? What I mean is something that gives the height of elements like the status bar, tab bar, navigation bar, default tableviewcell height (and such things as width of accessory view, indentation, etc), default icon sizes, default font sizes for UI elements (if they need to be mimicked, for instance), etc etc etc. It's amazing how many times I have to go back to find a reference or estimate the size and position of a standard element. It seems like it would be an invaluable resource that could fit on a printed page or two.

Access uploaded file in JSON encoded data

I've encoded my form data into JSON. I can access the encoded form fields by using the field name as a key, as exemplified below: $reg = $_REQUEST['registrations']; $data = json_decode(stripslashes($reg)); $registerNum = $data->registerNum; $folioNum = $data->folioNum; One of the fields in my form is a fileuploadfield. How can I access the uploaded file from the uploaded JSON. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

Flex: Problem with CollectionEvent on ArrayCollection

Hi there, got a reference to an arrayCollection and add event listener like this: collection.addEventListener(CollectionEvent.COLLECTION_CHANGE, onCollectionChange); that´s fine. Now some other component does have the same reference and is adding items to and removing items from that collection. Each time the handler is called: private function onProjectPersonsChange(event:Event):void { if (event.kind == CollectionEventKind.ADD) { //do something } else if (event.kind == CollectionEventKind.REMOVE) { //do something //here is the problem: event.items.length = 0 } else { trace('CollectionEvent: kind not handled!'); } } Does somebody know why the removed item is not in 'items'? How to map a virtual directory to a website in VS?

I am developing a C# VS 2008 website, trying to add a Master file. I created a virtual directory in IIS housing the "Master" folder, containing the Master files. Now how do I reference these files from my website in VS? One problem is I do not know where I need to publish this Master folder to. Other problem is I do not know how to reference this Master file in my aspx Page directive. FYI, this master folder is physically located outside of c:\inetpub\ in a totally separate file location. Is this a problem?

"Dereference" var in C#

I have some code in C# that uses a structure as such: ArrayList addrs = new ArrayList(); byte[] addr = new byte[8]; while (oneWire.Search_GetNextDevice(addr)) { addrs.Add(addr); } In this example, every element in the ArrayList is the same as the last device that was found because it would appear as though addr is passed out by reference and I am simply copying that reference into the ArrayList. Is there any way to "Dereference" addr to only extract it's value? It's also possible my assessment of the situation is incorrect, if that appears to be the case, please let me know Thanks!

Singleton wrapper for Context

I'm considering creating a singleton wrapper for a Context so my model objects, if necessary, can open and read from a database connection. My model objects do not have access to a Context, and I'd like to avoid needing to pass a reference to a Context from object to object. I was planning to place into this singleton a reference to the Context returned by Application.getApplicationContext(). This singleton object would be initialized in my custom Application instance before anything else would need to or have a chance to use it. Can anyone think of a reason to not do this?

Hi, Does does class/object models have a out-of-the-box equivalent to a database foreign key constraint? Assume the language is C# please. That is say Class A has a field that references Class B and vica-versa. If I have Object A & B (instantiated from these classes) what happens if I delete Object B? Does it auto-delete or throw a constraint issue if it still exists in Object A as a reference? That is, for this scenario is there a way to ensure when a Object A is delete that either (a) object B is delete like a cascade delete, or (b) a constraint exception is thrown as the expectation is that the reference in Class B should be non-null?

Rails - inheritance hierarchy of classes where a subtype can play two roles

I need to model Owners and Rentees in an application, so you have stuff that is always owned by someone and can be rented for someone else. I first approached this problem with Single Table Inheritance because both types of person will share all attributes, so you would have a model called Person associated to a table people with Owner and Rentee inheriting from Person. The problem is that Single type inheritance discerns subtypes using a field type and therefore a record in the table can represent either an Owner or a Rentee but not both at the same time, while in the real context you can have an Owner which is renting something from another Owner and therefore that person is at the same time an Owner and a Rentee. How would you approach this problem? Would you use separated tables for owners and rentees? Is there any other type of table inheritance in Rails?

Hi, I haven't found my answer after reading through all of these posts, so I'm hoping one of you heavy hitter regex folks can help me out. I'm trying to isolate the tag name and any attributes from the following string format: {TAG:TYPE attr1="foo" attr2="bar" attr3="zing" attr4="zang" attr5="zoom" ...} NOTE: in the above example, TAG will always be the same and TYPE will be one of several preset strings (e.g. share,print,display etc...). TAG and TYPE are uppercased only for the example but will not be case sensitive for real.

The WS-C3548-XL shows the fields in the order Destination Address Address Type VLAN Destination Port while the C2960 shows it like Vlan Mac Address Type Ports is there a way to tell show to print the fields in a predefined order?

How do I make a multiple file upload?

I am trying to make a multiple image uploader. The file upload fields are being added in the form dynamically using jquery. I tried making an array of the fields since I don't want to have a hidden field. so my generated upload fields look like <input type="file" id="img0" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img1" name="img[]"/> <input type="file" id="img2" name="img[]"/> ..... .. And on the php side I did something like if(isset($_FILES['img'])) { foreach($_FILES['img'] as $k=>$v) { if($v!="") { uploadImage($k,0,0,0,"content/gallery/"); } } } Now I know I am way too wrong, since in that code I am looping through the 'img' file's properties instead of all images....but I have no idea how to fix this. PS: uploadImage is a function I wrote which expects the file input field's name as the first parameter.

Angularjs code/naming conventions

Does anyone know if exists any official or most accepted reference for Angular naming conventions to use when we build our applications? Angular has a lot of different type of components such as filters, directives, services and so on. Wouldn't you agree that having a reference naming convention when we implement them in our applications will make sense? For example: If we need to create new filters how should we name them like [Something]Filter or filter[Something] or something else? And same applies for Controllers, Services, Directives and so on. Other things I wonder about is if variables/functions that belongs to the scope should have an special prefix or suffix. In some situations it may be useful to have a way to differentiate them from functions and other (none angular code).

In my Android app, I want to use a single variable for the log name in multiple files. At the moment, I'm specifying it separately in each file, e.g. public final String LOG_NAME = "LogName"; Log.d(LOG_NAME, "Logged output); I've tried this: public final String LOG_NAME = (String) getText(R.string.app_name_nospaces); And while this works in generally most of my files, Eclipse complains about one of them: The method getText(int) is undefined for the type DatabaseManager I've made sure I'm definitely importing android.content.Context in that file. If I tell it exactly where to find getText: Multiple markers at this line - Cannot make a static reference to the non-static method getText(int) from the type Context - The method getText(int) is undefined for the type DatabaseManager I'm sure I've committed a glaringly obvious n00b error, but I just can't see it! Consuming a web service with the Netbeans Platform

I have an application that is written with the NetBeans Platform 5.5. I'm having trouble consuming a web service. If I create a Java SE application in NetBeans, I can add a web service reference without problem. Since my application is using the NetBeans Platform, many of the menu choices change. So, I cannot figure out how to add a reference to the web service. I've googled this topic a number of ways but haven't found any pages that deal with consuming a service through the platform. They all talk about consuming a service with a Java SE application. Changing the application from the Platform architecture is not an option.
