  • How can I write javaScript cookies to keep the data persistent after page reloads on my form?

    Hello, I am trying to learn how to write cookies to keep the data in my CookieButton1 button persistent and to survive refreshes and page reloads. How can I do this in JavaScript? I have supplied my source code. Any advise, links or tutorials will be very helpful. If you navigate to http://iqlusion.net/test.html and click on Empty1, it will start to ask you questions. When finished it stores everything into CookieButton1. But when I refresh my browser the data resets and goes away.     Hi all.. I am beginner in Java. My problem is: I am calling a Java class's method from c++. For this i am using JNI. Everythings works correct, but i have some memory LEAKS in the process of c++ program... So.. i did simple example.. 1) I create a java machine (jint res = JNI_CreateJavaVM(&jvm, (void**)&env, &vm_args);) 2) then i take a pointer on java class (jclass cls = env-FindClass("test_jni")); 3) after that i create a java class object object, by calling the constructor (testJavaObject = env-NewObject(cls, testConstruct);) AT THIS very moment in the process of c++ program is allocated 10 MB of memory 4) Next i delete the class , the object, and the Java Machine .. AT THIS very moment the 10 MB of memory are not free .................   • Dynamic form in PHP not processing correctly

    My last question regarding this suggested I incorporate AJAX with PHP. However, I really wanted to try PHP exclusively for this project, and I seem to have made it about 95% there. I just need help on this one issue. Here's a quick background. My project requires a dynamic form to be populated with a max limit of 10 questions. Each form contains one question, one question number, and a text field. Students would go on and answer the questions. This is all driven by a database table (obviously), and when a question gets answered correctly, it will close and the next question in line will appear. There will always be 10 questions on the page. Can anyone tell me why that is? If I change the LIMIT number to 20, the processor.php action will display the 20th question and number, even if I was answering question 8, for example, in the dynamic form. Again, the dynamic forms are being displayed correctly, and are numbered correctly. For some unknown reason to me, the action - processor.php - is grabbing the last question in the array. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? I'm hoping it's a simple code change that I'm overlooking. Thanks in advance guys!

  • I am making a maze type of game using javascript and HTML and need some questions answered [on hold]

    First off, i am a noob to JavaScript but am willing to learn. :) I found a simple JavaScript moment engine created by another member on this site. Using that i made it so my character can walk around within a rectangle/square shaped room. I want to make it so the character can walk through a "doorway" within a wall to the next room. Either that or make it so if the character moves over a certain image within the room it will take the player to another webpage in which the character "spawns" into the room and so on and so fourth.   • Keeping socket open to send files on timer calls?

    I'm writing a program that requires an image to be fetched from a remote server every 10 milliseconds or so, as that's how often the image is updated. My current method calls a timer to grab the image, but it encounters Socket Closed errors all the time, and sometimes does not work at all. How can I fix my methods to keep the socket open the whole time, so no reconnecting is needed? Update: Although not sure , but I think I figure it out what is going on , If shmem1.exe run 10 times for example , then conf-heartbeat = 10 , in this time shmem1.exe take a rest and then back , shmem1.exe read from shared memory and conf-heartbeat = 8 , so shmem1.exe will continue from 8 , why conf-heartbeat = 8 ? I think it is because shmem2.exe update the shared memory data to 8 , shmem1.exe did not write 10 back to shared memory before it took a rest ....that is just my theory... i don't know how to prove it !!

    I am using a custum UITableViewCell , which has some labels , buttons imageviews to be displayed.There is one label in the cell whose text is a NSString object and the length of string could be variable , due to this i cannot set a constant height to the cell in UITableViews : heightForCellAtIndex method.The ceels height depends on the labels height , whcich can be determined using the NSStrings sizeWithFont method . i tried using it , but looks like i m going wrong somewhere .     I have the C# Dll (ABService) deployed in COM + and my os Is windows 2008. I have given the strong name for this dll and its dependent dll’s When I access the method of this dll through localhost or if I add the reference to the client project the method are executed successfully. Simply if I access the dll from the same machine with the reference it is working. So I think there is no problem with the way I deployed in the COM +. I have the doubt whether I have the problem in OS and Visual Studio 2008 combination. I have built all the dll with the Visual Studio 2008 with Target cpu as x86 and targert framework as 2.0. I have given in below the codes I have tried with and the errors. My problem is that root CA signed client certificate works fine while subordinate CA signed one results in "400 Bad Request. The SSL certificate error".   • Control to Control Binding in WPF/Silverlight

    In the past if you had two controls that you needed to work together, you would have to write code. For example, if you want a label control to display any text a user typed into a text box you would write code to do that. If you want turn off a set of controls when a user checks a check box, you would also have to write code. However, with XAML, these operations become very easy to do. Bind Text Box to Text Block As a basic example of this functionality, let’s bind a TextBlock control to a TextBox. When the user types into a TextBox the value typed in will show up in the TextBlock control as well. To try this out, create a new Silverlight or WPF application in Visual Studio. On the main window or user control type in the following XAML. <StackPanel>  <TextBox Margin="10" x:Name="txtData" />  <TextBlock Margin="10"              Text="{Binding ElementName=txtData,                             Path=Text}" /></StackPanel> Now run the application and type into the TextBox control. As you type you will see the data you type also appear in the TextBlock control. The {Binding} markup extension is responsible for this behavior. You set the ElementName attribute of the Binding markup to the name of the control that you wish to bind to. You then set the Path attribute to the name of the property of that control you wish to bind to. That’s all there is to it! Bind the IsEnabled Property Now let’s apply this concept to something that you might use in a business application. Consider the following two screen shots. The idea is that if the Add Benefits check box is un-checked, then the IsEnabled property of the three “Benefits” check boxes will be set to false (Figure 1). If the Add Benefits check box is checked, then the IsEnabled property of the “Benefits” check boxes will be set to true (Figure 2). Figure 1: Uncheck Add Benefits and the Benefits will be disabled. Figure 2: Check Add Benefits and the Benefits will be enabled. To accomplish this, you would write XAML to bind to each of the check boxes in the “Benefits To Add” section to the check box named chkBenefits. Below is a fragment of the XAML code that would be used. <CheckBox x:Name="chkBenefits" /> <CheckBox Content="401k"           IsEnabled="{Binding ElementName=chkBenefits,                               Path=IsChecked}" /> Since the IsEnabled property is a boolean type and the IsChecked property is also a boolean type, you can bind these two together. If they were different types, or if you needed them to set the IsEnabled property to the inverse of the IsChecked property then you would need to use a ValueConverter class. SummaryOnce you understand the basics of data binding in XAML, you can eliminate a lot code. Connecting controls together is as easy as just setting the ElementName and Path properties of the Binding markup extension.   • Add New Features to WMP with Windows Media Player Plus

    Do you use Windows Media Player 11 or 12 as your default media player? Today, we’re going to show you how to add some handy new features and enhancements with the Windows Media Player Plus third party plug-in. Installation and Setup Download and install Media Player Plus! (link below). You’ll need to close out of Windows Media Player before you begin or you’ll receive the message below. The next time you open Media Player you’ll be presented with the Media Player Plus settings window. Some of the settings will be enabled by default, such as the Find as you type feature. Using Media Player Plus! Find as you type allows you to start typing a search term from anywhere in Media Player without having to be in the Search box. The search term will automatically fill in the search box and display the results.   You’ll also see Disable group headers in the Library Pane.   This setting will display library items in a continuous list similar to the functionality of Windows Media Player 10. Under User Interface you can enable displaying the currently playing artist and title in the title bar. This is enabled by default.   The Context Menu page allows you to enable context menu enhancements. The File menu enhancement allows you to add the Windows Context menu to Media Player on the library pane, list pane, or both. Right click on a Title, select File, and you’ll see the Windows Context Menu. Right-click on a title and select Tag Editor Plus. Tag Editor Plus allows you to quickly edit media tags.   The Advanced tab displays a number of tags that Media Player usually doesn’t show. Only the tags with the notepad and pencil icon are editable.   The Restore Plug-ins page allows you to configure which plug-ins should be automatically restored after a Media Player crash. The Restore Media at Startup page allows you to configure Media Player to resume playing the last playlist, track, and even whether it was playing or paused at the time the application was closed. So, if you close out in the middle of a song, it will begin playing from that point the next time you open Media Player. You can also set Media Player to rewind a certain number of seconds from where you left off. This is especially useful if you are in the middle of watching a movie. There’s also the option to have your currently playing song sent to Windows Live Messenger. You can access the settings at any time by going to Tools, Plug-in properties, and selecting Windows Media Player Plus. Windows Media Plus is a nice little free plug-in for WMP 11 and 12 that brings a lot of additional functionality to Windows Media Player. If you use Media Player 11 or WMP 12 in Windows 7 as your main player, you might want to give this a try. Download Windows Media Player Plus! As a good DBA, you know that our social life is restricted to a few movies over the year and, when possible, a pizza in a restaurant next to your company’s place, of course. So what we have to do is to create methods through which we can facilitate our daily processes to go home early, and eventually have a nice time with our family (and not sleeping on the couch). As a consultant or fixed employee, one of our daily tasks is to monitor performance counters using Perfmom. To be honest, IDE is getting more complicated. To deal with this, I thought a solution using Powershell. Yes, with some lines of Powershell, you can configure which counters to use. And with one more line, you can already start collecting data. Let’s see one scenario: You are a consultant who has several clients and has just closed another project in troubleshooting an SQL Server environment. You are to use Perfmom to collect data from the server and you already have its XML configuration files made with the counters that you will be using- a file for memory bottleneck f, one for CPU, etc. With one Powershell command line for each XML file, you start collecting. The output of such a TXT file collection is set to up in an SQL Server. With two lines of command for each XML, you make the whole process of data collection. Creating an XML configuration File to Memory Counters: Get-PerfCounterCategory -CategoryName "Memory" | Get-PerfCounterInstance  | Get-PerfCounterCounters |Save-ConfigPerfCounter -PathConfigFile "c:\temp\ConfigfileMemory.xml" -newfile Creating an XML Configuration File to Buffer Manager, counters Page lookups/sec, Page reads/sec, Page writes/sec, Page life expectancy: Get-PerfCounterCategory -CategoryName "SQLServer:Buffer Manager" | Get-PerfCounterInstance | Get-PerfCounterCounters -CounterName "Page*" | Save-ConfigPerfCounter -PathConfigFile "c:\temp\BufferManager.xml" –NewFile Then you start the collection: Set-CollectPerfCounter -DateTimeStart "05/24/2010 08:00:00" -DateTimeEnd "05/24/2010 22:00:00" -Interval 10 -PathConfigFile c:\temp\ConfigfileMemory.xml -PathOutputFile c:\temp\ConfigfileMemory.txt To let the Buffer Manager collect, you need one more counters, including the Buffer cache hit ratio. You would see the BPEL Process Designer, some of the folders such as Integration content and Resources are created and few more files 7. Assign Activity : Allows Assigning values to variables or copying values of one variable to another and also do some string manipulation or mathematical operations In the component palette at extreme right, select Process Activities from the drop down, and drag and drop "Assign" between "receive Input" and "replyOutput" 8. You can right click and edit the Assign activity and give any suitable name "AssignHello", 9. Select "Copy Operation" Tab create "Copy Operation" 10. In the From variables click on expression builder, select input under "input variable", Click on insert into expression bar, complete the concat syntax, Note to use "Ctrl+space bar" inside expression window to Auto Populate the expression as shown in the figure below. What we are actually doing here is concatenating the String "Hello ", with the variable value received through the variable named "input" 11. Observe that once an expression is completed the "To Variable" is assigned to a variable by name "result" 12. Finally the copy variable looks as below 13. It's the time to deploy, start the SOA Suite 14. Establish connection to the Server from JDeveloper, this can be done adding a New Application Server under Connection, give the server name, username and password and test connection. 15. Deploy the "MyBPELProc" to the "default domain" 16. http://localhost:8080/ allows connecting to SOA Suite web portal, click on "BPEL Control" , login with the username "oc4jadmin" password what ever you gave during installation 17. "MyBPELProc" is visisble under "Deployed BPEL Processes" in the "Dashboard" Tab, click on the it 18. Initiate tab open to accept input, enter data such as input is "James" click on "Post XML Button" 19. Click on Visual Flow 20. Click on receive Input , it shows "James" as input received 21. Click on reply Output, it shows "Hello James" so the BPEL process is successfully executed. 22. It may be worth seeing all the instance created everytime a BPEL process is executed by giving some inputs. Purge All button allows to delete all the unwanted previous instances of BPEL process, dont worry it wont delete the BPEL process itself :-) 23. It may also be some importance to understand the XSD File which holds input & output variable names & data types. 24. You could drag n drop variables as elements over sequence at the designer or directly edit the XML Source file.

  • How did my email end up in spam? Spam only filters this specific email, other email contents work

    My website has users buy our products and when the purchase completes, it sends the user an email. However, this email always ends up in spam! When the user first registers, the site also sends an email, this email however is not filtered and goes into the normal inbox. I'm not quite sure why this is so, gmail vaguely tells me that " It's similar to messages that were detected by our spam filters." So I'm thinking that I need to reword the following email better. Can I get some tips? There is nothing wrong with that so long as the rest of your drivers and app threads can handle longer times with interrupts off while you are servicing I2C interrupts. I think I started debugging last time by using wireshark to see what was happening on the network then setting up the OAL_ETHER and OAL_FUNC and OAL_VERBOSE as well as OAL_KITL flags to see what was actually happening in the driver.... Pev (Guest)[2010-3-30 12:50]: Q: I've got a platform (not developed by myself) where I2C bus support has to be provided through the OAL as the kernel needs to talk to devices such as the power management IC and gas gauge so a 'proper' I2C driver hanging off device manager isn't possible. This happens to be a polled driver, so obviously it hits the system hard when either under lots of traffic or an error condition occurs and the driver constantly polls. I originally thought that there was no straightforward way to make such code interrupt driven in the kernel (as it's a cludge) but I realised that that's exactly what ETHDBG drivers do. Is there any reason why I shouldn't have a go at implementing a similar mechanism for our kernel resident I2C driver?   • MSMQ messages using HTTP just won't get delivered

    I'm starting off the blog with a discussion of an unusual problem that has hit a couple of my customers this month. It's not a problem you'd expect to bump into and the solution is potentially painful. Scenario You want to make use of the HTTP protocol to send MSMQ messages from one machine to another. You have installed HTTP support for MSMQ and have addressed your messages correctly but they will not leave the outgoing queue. There is no configuration for HTTP support - setup has already done all that for you (although you may want to check the most recent "Installation of the MSMQ HTTP Support Subcomponent" section of MSMQINST.LOG to see if anything DID go wrong) - so you can't tweak anything. Restarting services and servers makes no difference - the messages just will not get delivered. The problem is documented and resolved by Knowledgebase article 916699 "The message may not be delivered when you use the HTTP protocol to send a message to a server that is running Message Queuing 3.0". It is unlikely that you would be able to resolve the problem without the assistance of PSS because there are no messages that can be seen to assist you and only access to the source code exposes the root cause. As this communication is over HTTP, the IIS logs would be a good place to start. POST entries are logged which show that connectivity is working and message delivery is being attempted: #Software: Microsoft Internet Information Services 6.0 #Version: 1.0 #Date: 2006-09-12 12:11:29 #Fields: date time s-sitename s-ip cs-method cs-uri-stem cs-uri-query s-port cs-username c-ip cs(User-Agent) sc-status sc-substatus sc-win32-status 2006-09-12 12:12:12 W3SVC1 10.1.17.219 POST /msmq/private$/test - 80 - 10.2.200.3 - 200 0 0 If you capture the traffic with Network Monitor you can see the POST being sent to the server but you also see a response being returned to the client: HTTP: Response to Client; HTTP/1.1; Status Code = 500 - Internal Server Error "Internal Server Error" means we can probably stop looking at IIS and instead focus on the Message Queuing ISAPI extension (Mqise.dll). MSMQ 3.0 (Windows XP and Windows Server 2003) comes with error logging enabled by default but the log files are in binary format - MSMQ 2.0 generated logging in plain text. The symbolic information needed for formatting the files is not currently publicly available so log files have to be sent in to Microsoft PSS.  Although this does mean raising a support case, formatting the log files to text and returning them to the customer shouldn't take long. Obviously the engineer analyses them for you - I just want to point out that you can see the logging output in text format if you want it. The important entries in the log for this problem are: [7]b48.928 09/12/2006-13:20:44.552 [mqise GetNetBiosNameFromIPAddr] ERROR:Failed to get the NetBios name from the DNS name, error = 0xea [7]b48.928 09/12/2006-13:20:44.552 [mqise RPCToServer] ERROR:RPC call R_ProcessHTTPRequest failed, error code = 1702(RPC_S_INVALID_BINDING) which allow a Microsoft escalation engineer to check the MQISE source code to see what is going wrong. This problem according to the article occurs when the extension tries to bind to the local MSMQ service after the extension receives a POST request that contains an MSMQ message. MSMQ resolves the server name by using the DNS host name but the extension cannot bind to the service because the buffer that MSMQ uses to resolve the server name is too small - server names that are exactly 15 characters long will not fit. RPC exception 0x6a6 (RPC_S_INVALID_BINDING) occurs in the W3wp.exe process but the exception is handled and so you do not receive an error message. The workaround is to rename the MSMQ server to something less than 15 characters. If the problem has only just been noticed in a production environment - an application may have been modified to get through a newly-implemented firewall, for example - then renaming is going to be an issue. Other applications may need to be reinstalled or modified if server names are hard-coded or stored in the registry. The renaming may also break a company naming convention where the name is built up from something like location+department+number. In fact, even if you DON'T want to learn anything about MSMQ logging you should read the FAQ anyway as there is a huge amount of useful information on known issues and the like.

  • Installer Reboots at "Detecting hardware" (disks and other hardware) on all recent Server Installs

    I have a very frustrating problem with my PC. I cannot install any recent version of Ubuntu Server (or even Desktop) since 9.04 even using the text-based installer. I boot from a USB stick created by Unetbootin (I also tried other methods such as startup disk creator with no difference). On the Server installer, it gets to "Detecting Hardware" (the second one about disks and all other hardware, not network hardware) and then either hangs at 0% (waited 24 hours), or reboots after a minute or two. My system (late 2007): ASUS P5NSLI motherboard Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz 2 x 1GB Corsair 667MHz RAM nVidia GeForce 6600 I have unplugged everything (including the only hard disk, CD-ROMs and floppy). I have only one stick of RAM (tried each one to no avail) and am booting the installer from a USB stick (booting from CD-ROM yields the same problem). I also tried several of the boot options (nomodeset, nousb, acpi=off, noapic, i915.modeset=1/0, xforcevesa) in all combinations) to no avail. The only active parts of my system are the video card, mouse, keyboard and USB stick. I have also updated the BIOS to the most recent version. (FWIW, on the Desktop installer, I get a black screen after hitting the Install option.) Even after removing "quiet" I am unable to see what kernel panic is occurring (or not occurring) to cause the install to crash. I am only able to save the debug logs via a simple webserver in the installer.   • Add a Hovering Image Toolbar to Firefox

    When you work with webpage images in Firefox you normally have to use the Context Menu to do anything with them. The Image Toolbar extension provides an extra toolbar to use when you hover your mouse over webpage images. Note: This extension will not function if you have the NoScript extension installed/enabled unless JavaScript has permission to be active on that page. Before You can see the available “Context Menu” options for working with images here. Not bad but it would be nice if some other convenient options were available as well. Image Toolbar in Action Once you have installed the extension you will be able to view the toolbar whenever you hover your mouse over an image. All of the commands are active by default but you can choose what is available in the options. The toolbar will also appear in the upper left region of the image but can be set to appear relative to the cursor. Note: The default minimum image size for the toolbar to appear over is “260 x 260 pixels” so you will probably want to change it to a much smaller size (see options below). Here is what is available in the Image Toolbar: Save – Choose between being prompted when saving or automatically saving to a specified location Copy – Copies image and image URL so that you can paste the image or URL depending on the app pasted into Print – Provides print preview and printing capabilities Info – Opens a window with “properties information” about the image Folder – Opens browser’s download folder in Windows Explorer The “Save, Copy, Print, & Folder Commands” are all pretty clear in what you can expect from them but what about the “Info Command”? This is what you will see if you use the “Info Command” and expand the window out all the way. Very nice… Options There are quite a few options available for what appears to be such a small toolbar. The first “Tab Area” lets you set up the “Save Scheme” that best suits your personal needs. You can choose which commands are available in the toolbar, decide if you would like text labels visible, and enable small icons if desired. As mentioned above the default image size for the toolbar to appear is “260 x 260 pixels”…we set ours for “10 x 10 pixels”. If you would like the toolbar to appear relative to your mouse cursor as opposed to the upper left corner of the image then you can select for that here. Conclusion If you have been wanting more options for working with webpage images in Firefox then this will make a very useful and convenient addition to your browser.     OK, this is my setup: FC Switches IBM/Brocade, Switch1 and Switch2, independent fabrics. Server IBM x3650 M2, 2x QLogic QLE2460, 1 connected to each FC Switch. I assume that once I can get that right then the spam in my syslog will end as well. One final thing worth mentioning is that the IBM redbook doc targets SLES 11 so I'm assuming there's something a little different under Ubuntu that I just haven't figured out yet.
