  • Mobile HTML pages basics

    Hi, Which are the basics for create a web page for a mobile device? I'm developing something that is very simple, actually it's a table and several links, but when I open it with my Android phone I see it very very small, and I have to zoom with my fingers ir order to see it; but, when I access a page ready for mobile devices I can see it prety clear form the begining.   • Orientation change event in Browser on Palm webOS

    I'm working on a web application where I'm trying to capture when the user rotates the screen. Fundamentally, I want to know if the user is browsing in portrait mode or landscape mode. The iPhone/iPad and Android browsers send a resize event when the screen orientation changes. Unfortunately, the browser in webOS doesn't seem to send that notification. Any advice on how to detect in the browser any changes in orientation on Palm webOS? Thanks.

But why instantiation of static nested class object is allowed in following situaltion? class EnclosingClass { //... class static StaticInnerClass { //... } } Why we can create object of inner class if it is marked as static?     There might have been a restriction on originating (making) calls (voice or data) from mobile phones without an explicit user permission i.e. a window would pop-up, asking the user to press 'Yes'/approve or 'No'/cancel for a call attempt made by a software application on that cellphone/mobile. There seems though to exist API for making calls, voice calls and data calls, on various embedded OS like WM, Symbian and Android. Do they require a user button-press then?

    Hi I'm trying to develop a site for mobile phones. At the moment it seems to work on iphone and android htc desire and an n95. When I try it on an LG renoir instead of the page fitting the width of the screen the page displays at least twice as wide as it should meaning you can scroll left and right.     Recently Google introduced an SDK for application usage tracking on mobile devices (Google Analytics for Mobile Apps). Unfortunately, it seems that it only supports IPhone and Android devices. Do you have any idea if this framework can somehow be used from Windows Mobile / Compact Framework applications or if Google is planning to release an SDK for WM? BTW, I don't mean a WM application for browsing through GA server reports, but an SDK for tracking your mobile app's usage.

  • Can an iPhone/iPod Touch application open a port for remote communication without jailbreaking?

    I'm researching remote control testing for an app that'll be installed on the new iPod Touch and can't tell for certain from everything that I've read whether or not an installed app can or can't open any ports for remote test instructions (that's a mouthful : ) We created something like this for the Android using adb port forwarding and telnet, and it worked really well. Is there any chance something similar could be done on an iPhone or iPod without jailbreaking??

    Hello. I have a problem with Android Emulator. I have created avd and run it. But when it was started I can't work, because it emulate typing many "=" symbol. I launch this avd with -debug-all parameter and debuger write "could not handle (sym=61, mod=0, str=EQUAL) KEY [0x00d, down]". OS - Windows Vista. Last version Java platform, SDK, Eclipse. But is there a way to determine which device is the master and which is the slave?
