  • XPathDocument behavior with DOCTYPE declaration

    - by gliderkite
I use XPathDocument to parse an XML file, but if there's a doctype declaration, when I initializes a new instance of the XPathDocument class passing the path of the file, that contains the XML data, to its constructor, my application tries to connect to internet (probably to verify the correctness of the XML data) and remains blocked for a long period of time. This does not occur if I delete the doctype declaration from the XML file. XmlDocument.Load method has the same behavior. How can I fix this problem? Thanks.

  • Flex: Load images and swf's dynamically

    - by Lizzan
I'm building a slide-show like application in Flex and I'm trying to load images dynamically. The images are in a folder outside the application folder. This is the folder structure: /Bildvisare-debug/ Bildvisare.html Bildvisare.swf /Images/ 01_02_01_01_B.jpg 01_02_01_01_T.JPG I'm reading the image names from an XML file and get them with a path of ../Images/01_03_01_01_B.jpg. In my mxml-file I've got an SWFLoader named picture and I try to load the images with the following code: this.picture.source = images[currentImg]; //E.g. ../Images/01_03_01_01_B.jpg this.picture.load(); The problem is that the images never show up, I only get the icon for a missing image. Can anyone help?

  • jEdit+JythonInterpreter: how to import java class?

    - by JChao
Hi, I'm running jEdit with the JythonInterprete and I have a .jar file called JavaTest.jar. JavaTest has a class called SampleJavaClass which has a method printerCount. From my .py file, I want to do: from javatest import SampleJavaClass class SampleClass(SampleJavaClass): def pymain(self): SampleJavaClass.printerCount(4) Java code: package javatest; public class SampleJavaClass { public static void printerCount(int i){ for(int j=0; j< i; j++){ System.out.println("hello world"); } } (etc...) In the JythonInterpreter, I have already tried clicking "Edit Jython Path" and adding the .jar file then running the interpreter again, but it still gives me ImportError: cannot import name SampleJavaClass

  • How to use rvm (ruby version manager) with root account?

    - by Jade
The whole point of rvm is to be able to install multiple rubies and access them from a user account. What do you do when you need to access any of those rubies from root? Or use gems installed in one of those rvms? Is there an elegant (or even hackish) way to use these I haven't considered? My guess is that I should just add it to my PATH, but I'm curious if anyone has come up with a better idea. I'd rather not install rvm just for the root account and duplicate everything.

  • Stuck on solving the Minimal Spanning Tree problem.

    - by kunjaan
I have reduced my problem to finding the minimal spanning tree in the graph. But I want to have one more constraint which is that the total degree for each vertex shouldnt exceed a certain constant factor. How do I model my problem? Is MST the wrong path? Do you know any algorithms that will help me? One more problem: My graph has duplicate edge weights so is there a way to count the number of unique MSTs? Are there algorithms that do this? Thank You. Edit: By degree, I mean the total number of edges connecting the vertex. By duplicate edge weight I mean that two edges have the same weight.

  • Recommended place for pre-translated Zend Framework resources

    - by Exception e
Since zf 1.10 Zend Framework ships with pre-translated validation messages. They are outside the library path. The manual illustrates how to load these in your bootstrap. $translator = new Zend_Translate( 'array', '/resources/languages', $language, array('scan' => Zend_Locale::LOCALE_DIRECTORY) ); Zend_Validate_Abstract::setDefaultTranslator($translator); I am inclined to think that these resources are specific to the zf-version; validators could change over time. If i copy the resources to my application tree I need to perform additional maintenance each time I upgrade to a newer version. What is best practice? Is there a ZF convention already?

  • OpenERP model tracking external resource, hooking into parent's copy() or copy_data()

    - by CB.
I have added a new model (call it crm_lead_external) that is linked via a new one2many on crm_lead. Thus, my module has two models defined: an updated crm_lead (with _name=crm_lead) and a new crm_lead_external. This external model tracks a file and as such has a 'filename' field. I also created a unique SQL index on this filename field. This is part of my module: def copy(self, cr, uid, id, default=None, context=None): if not default: default = {} default.update({ 'state': 'new', 'filename': '', }) ret = super(crm_lead_external, self).copy(cr, uid, id, default, context=context) #do file copy return ret The intent here is to allow an external entity to be duplicated, but to retarget the file path. Now, if I click duplicate on the Lead, I get an IntegrityError on my unique constraint. Is there a particular reason why copy() isn't being called? Should I add this logic to copy_data()? Myst I really override copy() for the lead? Thanks in advance.

  • Struggling to "clear" a CGLayer -- can it even be done?

    - by Joe Blow
So I'm doing this repetitively - making a CGLayer, doing some processing, and then releasing it. This happens a lot in real time -- so surely there is a lot of overhead in making a whole new CGLayer each time? Surely it would be better to just keep lair around, and start fresh each time? However, I do not know any way, at all, to "erase" or "start from blank" a CGLayer?? Can anyone help on this? There is a function CGContextBeginPath(cc) but it's confusing: it seems to only clear out "that" path, it does not erase all of the CGLayer back to a blank canvas. how to return a CGLayer to a blank canvas????? Does anyone know? CGLayerRef lair = CGLayerCreateWithContext( UIGraphicsGetCurrentContext(), CGSizeMake(1024,768), NULL); CGContextRef cc = CGLayerGetContext(ether); // various processing here CGContextAddPath(cc, somePath); // various processing here CGLayerRelease(lair); Any ideas?!

  • Multiple calls to /dev/stdin using python subprocess (*nix)

    - by Alex Leach
Hi, I have a python subprocess call which I would like to link up to three pipes (two standard in and one standard out). I know that there is only one /dev/stdin, but there's all those other devices in /dev I don't know about, and don't know of any python os, sys or subprocess modules that will utilise them in a manner which allows me to give the device path to subprocess.Popen. The reason I ask is because I would like to pipe information from a mysql database or tar archive rather than a directory structure I currently have which has 28,000 directories in. The directory names alone uses a LOT of space! The alternative is to tar / gunzip the entire directory structure and manoeuvre through the compressed archive. With either solution, mysql or tar, I would still like to have two pipes into subprocess.Popen and one out, so that I can bypass the HDD. Any need for an example??

  • Resources for Win32 C/C++ programming

    - by EricM
I have experience in a variety of languages (Java, Perl, C#, PHP, javascript, ansi-C for microprocessors, Objective-C and others), with Win32 programming not being an area I've done a lot of work in. Now part of my job entails maintaining a large Win32 codebase that stretches back 15 years and includes everything from C written originally for Win95 to MFC to COM to 64-bit code for Win7 to C++ using Boost and so on. If there's a variation on how to do something it's in there. Are there any good Win32 C/C++ references that discuss both the proper way to do things today and give you a little sense of how things evolved? Something like this discussion of all the various boolean types, or how to approach the API monstrosity of simply copying a string. I don't see my career heading too far down this path, but I do like to understand what I'm working with and I think this is an important part of programming history. thanks, Eric

  • CreateFile2 returns access denied error in Windows 8

  • help with Zend dispatcher

    - by simple
this is the Zend Controller Dispatcher Standart public function isDispatchable(Zend_Controller_Request_Abstract $request) { $className = $this->getControllerClass($request); echo 'is dispatchanble started'; var_dump($className); if (!$className) { return false; } var_dump(class_exists($className, false)); if (class_exists($className, false)) { return true; } $fileSpec = $this->classToFilename($className); $dispatchDir = $this->getDispatchDirectory(); $test = $dispatchDir . DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR . $fileSpec; return Zend_Loader::isReadable($test); } I need to set up custom modular structure and loading just using plugins (I need to setup the path where zend looks for controller), so I am stuck tracing down I came to the isDispatchable method that returns false and consequently the dispatching returns error . This method returns false because class_exists return false , it is surely has to do with auto loading ,but confused. help will be appreciated, though I got the feeling that I am looking at wrong place.

  • Writing Strings to files in python

    - by Leif Andersen
I'm getting the following error when trying to write a string to a file in pythion: Traceback (most recent call last): File "export_off.py", line 264, in execute save_off(self.properties.path, context) File "export_off.py", line 244, in save_off primary.write(file) File "export_off.py", line 181, in write variable.write(file) File "export_off.py", line 118, in write file.write(self.value) TypeError: must be bytes or buffer, not str I basically have a string class, which contains a string: class _off_str(object): __slots__ = 'value' def __init__(self, val=""): self.value=val def get_size(self): return SZ_SHORT def write(self, file): file.write(self.value) def __str__(self): return str(self.value) Furthermore, I'm calling that class like this: def write(self, file): for variable in self.variables: variable.write(file) I have no idea what is going on. I've seen other python programs writing strings to files, so why can't this one? Thank you very much for your help.

  • Write set of integers to std::ofstream and be able to read them back

    - by bndu
Hello, I need to write a bunch of unsigned integers to std::ofstream in binary mode: std::ofstream f; f.open("some path", std::ios::out | std::ios::binary); // some loop { unsigned int k = get_k(); // may product numbers from 0 to 65535 f << k; } f.close(); They are written to the output file "as is" w/o any delimiter. So when I'm trying to read them back (expecting to get what I wrote) using std::ifstream I get very strange values. What I'm doing wrong? Or I should to put ' ' (space) to the stream after any added number to separate them? Thanks.

  • Using jQuery.get with a file up a directory?

    - by gct
I'm using jQuery to write a simple utility app that's just run locally. It'll read from a list of files using jQuery.get and then display them along with some meta-data (which resides in a separate file). The images and meta files live in ../scored_images/*.[jpg|meta] I can load the file list with jQuery.get just fine (it's in the current directory), and I can load up the images and display them without a problem. However when I go to load the meta file for display, jQuery.get seems to silently fail. I can load them fine if the path doesn't have ../ in it. Is there a way to work around this behavior?

  • NoneType has no attribute Append

I'm setting UserInRoom_entities = [] immediately before that call. Or is something else the None in question?

  • Possible to implement an IsViewPortVisible dependencyproperty for an item in an ItemsControl?

    - by Matt H.
I need to enable/disable spell checking in a richtextbox in an ItemsControl, based on whether the RichTextBox is visible in the ItemsControl's Scrollviewer. I think the route is to implement an IsViewPortVisible dependency property and wire an event handler for a changed event... I found this article that describes the lengthy process for determining if an item is in the viewport: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/wpf/thread/e6ccfec3-3dc0-4702-9d0d-1cfa55ecfc90 Any ideas on where to start? I'm familiar with implementing my own dependency property for the sake of simple bindings (integers, strings, etc...). I have no idea how to undergo something like this though) This is the end result I'm hoping for: <DataTemplate> <Grid> ...Stuff in the Grid <local:CustomRichTextBox SpellCheck.IsEnabled={Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Self}, Path=IsViewPortVisible}/> </Grid> </DataTemplate> Help will be EXTREMELY appreciated... you'll be saving me about 500MB in memory consumption while the program is running!!!! :)

  • ondevicemotion in Chrome desktop returns true

    - by Martin Klasson
I am using a "shake" function from github - and it has a detection that is browser-based javascript. //feature detect this.hasDeviceMotion = 'ondevicemotion' in window; This though yields true even on Chrome on OS X. It feels strange, since I am not willing to shake my monitor on my desktop. Safari on OS X gives me "false" in return when testing. I have searched but not been able to find out why Chrome decided to take this path. It bugs me. Is there a better way to make this detection? Not all "mobile devices" has shake as well.. or does not let the browser have that capability, as it does not seem to work in windows phones.

  • Design best practice - best way to handle user selection

    - by user1457227
I'm an experienced developer (WPF) moving over to Android development. My question: an app I am developing allows the user to browse their local storage (such as SDCARD) and select a file. Now, should I simply create a new Activity (after the user has made a selection) to handle what I want to have the app do with that chosen file, -or- is the better approach to pass the path/name of the selected file back to the main Activity and let IT launch the next Activity? In other words, is the better practice to have the main Activity launch other (support) activities, or is it perfectly ok and normal to have one activity chain to another and on and on? Thanks!

  • Transforming a TXT file in a list, getting wrong

    - by Mike
I have a txt plain file that has a list of numbers. One number per line, like: 978-972-722-649-8 978-972-722-646-7 978-972-722-627-6 978-972-722-625-2 978-972-722-594-1 etc. This list is on a file called file.txt, was created and saved on TextEdit using Western (ISO Latin 1) encoding. Now I am trying to use Applescript to read this file and transform it on a list. I have this script set myDirectory to path to desktop folder as string set myFile to myDirectory & "file.txt" try set open_file to ¬ open for access file myFile without write permission set myList to read open_file using delimiter return close access open_file on error try close access file open_file end try end try after running this script, myList contains just ONE item and this item is "97" (I suppose that is the first two numbers of the first entry). What is going on? Thanks.

  • Creating a library of classes in php - how to handle the library root location?

    - by jax
I am about to create a collection of classes in php which are interrelated. Now I would like to include files using their absolute path, ie If I were in '/com/mysite/licences/Generator.class.php' I would like to include files like this: include '/com/mysite/lib/Utils.class.php' I don't want to include like this, I think it is confusing and ugly include '../licenses/Utils.class.php' This works ok, unless 'com' is not in the root of public_html. I assume I will need some sort of prefix to append to each file LIBRARY_ROOT that hold the location of 'com' in the current filesystem. So it might look like this include LIBRARY_ROOT.'com/mysite/lib/Utils.class.php' What is the best way to do this?
