    I want to upload files directly to IIS7 (in this case I am using the WebRequest object in .NET). Thus I need IIS7 to accept POST, PUT, and DELETE verbs such that I can upload and delete files on the server directly. Is it possible to have IIS accept files without a a web framework like ASP.NET? Essentially I want to be able to use IIS (HTTP) as an FTP server.

  • Migration from XP to Windows 7 using recovered HD

    Is it possible to migrate the Windows XP Pro 32 bit operating system, applications etc from a USB external drive which is the recovered hard drive from that failed system to my new desktop computer with Windows7 64 bit system? In doing so, I would like to set up the new computer with the OS and all general applications on the primary 1TB hard drive while the secondary 1TB hard drive to have nothing else but graphics programs and gaming applications complete with their related files and add-ons. What will I need to accomplish this task efficiently and economically?

    I'm setting up an external nginx server to proxy all outgoing traffic in order to simplify outbound firewall rules. What I'd like is: https://service1.com.example.com -- https://service1.com:443 https://www.service2.com.example.com -- https://www.service2.com:443 https://service3.com.example.com -- http://service3.com:8080 (everything else denied) (There will be 30-40 different hosts here, so I'm looking for something relatively easy to maintain.)     What I want to do is to setup a "sort of" radio in my college LAN in which, when I play music in any of the media player installed in my computer, I can share the same to other PCs on LAN via just an M3U file. Also, other PCs should be playing the music on that M3U file, what is being played right now on my "music" server (just like a radio station). My selection criteria for deleting is likely to be DELETE * FROM POSTING WHERE USER.ID=5 AND UPDATED_AT<100 What is the best way to delete it? Build an index? Write a sequential script that deletes via paginating through the rows 1000 at a time?

I'm using the following command to know how much memory used by php-fpm. ps -ylC php5-fpm --sort:rss | awk '!/RSS/ { s+=$8 } END { printf "%s\n", "Total memory used by PHP-FPM child processes: "; printf "%dM\n", s/1024 }' Given the command above, I want to know the memory used by all apps with an example output below: PHP-FPM: 2.3gb MySQL: 5gb nginx: 200mb dovecot: 100mb memcached: 573mb

  • Multiple nt52 entries in bootmgr

    I have a machine with Windows XP, Server 2003 R2, and Server 2008 R2. Right now, bootmgr has one entry for Server 2008 R2 and one entry for ntldr, which then leads to the ntldr boot.ini menu. Is it possible to add two different nt52 entries on two partitions so that I can access all three OSes from the bootmgr menu? Right now, Server 2008 and XP are in logical drives on an extended partition, but (I assume) I can image them onto basic partitions if necessary.

Also, if it is possible, could I disconnect from it (while it's still running) and reconnect to it from a different machine?

  • How to configure DNS so that www.example.com goes to one server, *.example.com to another

    I'm trying to set up my domain as follows, but I'm not actually sure if it's possible. I have a domain where I would like the base and www addresses to go to my static site, but others to go to my application server. For example: My domain is registered with Dreamhost, and my application is on a VPS at Webbynode. I've set up the domain in Dreamhost to use Webbynode's nameservers: ns1.dnswebby.com ns2.dnswebby.com ns3.dnswebby.com And in Webbynode I've set up a wildcard A record to point to the IP address of my VPS: * 1.2.3.4 A and this works nicely, if I go to app.example.com it resolves to my application server at Webbynode. However, what I'd like to do is have example.com and www.example.com go to my static site, hosted back at Dreamhost, whilst still having any other domain go to my app. What I've done to try and achieve this is set up these DNS "NS" entries at Webbynode, trying to get Dreamhost to resolve these domain names: (empty) ns1.dreamhost.com NS (empty) ns2.dreamhost.com NS (empty) ns3.dreamhost.com NS www ns1.dreamhost.com NS www ns2.dreamhost.com NS www ns3.dreamhost.com NS (I don't have a fixed IP address at Dreamhost so I can't just set up simple A records). However this doesn't work... does anyone have any idea if this is possible and if so how it could be done? Update: I've got this working now, as above for the domain (i.e. registered with Dreamhost, but using Webbynode's nameservers). To delegate the DNS for www.example.com to Dreamhost, I've got the following DNS entries set up: www.example.com. ns1.dreamhost.com. NS www.example.com. ns2.dreamhost.com. NS www.example.com. ns3.dreamhost.com. NS (note the full stops at the end) And to get example.com to resolve to my static site, I set up CNAME record: example.com. www.example.com. CNAME So now, example.com and www.example.com go to my static site on Dreamhost, and if they change the IP address of my shared hosting it won't affect me, and all other subdomains go to my application server. This seems to work nicely, but if anyone knows a better way to do it I'd be happy to hear it. Thanks to all who replied.

    In outlook 2010 I am unable to show the number of messages within a particular group. For example, I categorise my messages and then when I sort by category, there is no way to show the number of messages within that(those) category(ies). Previous versions of outlook would do this by default, but I am not finding the setting to do this in Outlook 2010. If it isn't possible, is there anything method to count those messages within a group/category easily?

We are developing a product in partnership with another company, and we need to create a database server for the product we'll release. I have been using Amazon Web Services for the past 3 years, but this is the first time I received a spec with this very specific hardware configuration. I know there are trade-offs and that real hardware will always be faster than virtual machines, and knowing that fact forehand, what would you recommend? 1) Amazon EC2? 2) Amazon RDS? 3) Something else? 4) Forget it baby, stick to the real hardware Here is the hardware requirements This server will be focused on I/O and MySQL for the statistics, memory size and disk space for the images hosting. Server 1 I/O The very main part on this server will be I/O processing, FusionIO cards have proven themselves extremely efficient, this is currently the best you can have in this domain. o Fusion ioDrive2 MLC 365GB (http://www.fusionio.com/load/-media-/1m66wu/docsLibrary/FIO_ioDrive2_Datasheet.pdf) CPU MySQL will use less CPU cores than Apache but it will use them very hard, the E7 family has 30M Cache L3 wichi provide boost performance : o 1x Intel E7-2870 will be ok. Storage SAS will be good enough in terms of performance, especially considering the space required. o RAID 10 of 4 x SAS 10k or 15k for a total available space of 512 GB. Memory o 64 GB minimum is required on this server considering the size of the statistics database. Warning: the statistics database will grow quickly, if possible consider starting with 128 GB directly, it will help.   • Local links ( in browsers ) on *nix systems

    On Windows I can access files directly from the browser ( or at least I have it configured currently, forget if it was native like this ) with the file:// protocol, so I can access files from say the C drive. I'm wondering what the equivalent would be to accessing my files from the browser, if at all possible on a *nix system such as Debian.
