  I guess, DAO is thread safe, does not use any class members. So can it be used without any problem as a private field of a Servlet ? We need only one copy, and multiple threads can access it simultaneously, so why bother creating a local variable, right?

  Okay, so I've figured out how to get my external ip using wget: wget -q -O - http://whatismyip.com/automation/n09230945.asp that outputs the ip to the command console. adding currentip.txt to the end will write it to a text file. But what I want to do is use netsh interface ip set address name="Local Area Connection 2" source=static addr=[WHAT DO I PUT HERE] Also, a way to make the command prompt not flash would be nice too :)

  Hi, Having an .html file is it possible to force the browser to treat the contents as XHTML? I mean the file opened from both local or web location. Maybe some on-the-fly convertion or something like that? The background: Firefox and Opera supports natively MathML when the code is embedded in a XHTML file. I need to get a .html file with MathML that would be supported by the mentioned browsers properly. Thank you for any support.

• appengine log console extremely slow

  I am using the python app engine and finding that the log console on the local development server is terribly slow. Output to this window seems to show in chunks of about 5-15 lines every second. Is that typical? I find that it's so slow that it hinders my debugging time waiting for log data to appear.

  I am trying to build a google app engine app in Java. The app is trying to get information from another site. On my computer I am behind a firewall and need to connect to the site through a proxy. Google app engine does not allow the use of java.net.proxy. Is there a way to configure eclipse so it knows that when I use URL.getContent() my local host will connect to that url through a proxy??

  I'm using Tycho 0.16.0 and still getting the following Error: Error - 7 icon(s) not replaced in C:\Users\weich01\AppData\Local\Temp\p2.brandingIron8219115442087687624\launcher.exe using C:\Development\Workspaces\Workspace RCP SR2\de.mycompany.myproduct.product\target\products\MyProduct\de.mycompany.myproduct.feature\logo_pms_2011.ico This error should be fixed in v0.16, shouldn't it? With eclipse export everything works fine, so product definition is correct. The icon file contains bmp in all sizes. Thanks for your help

• github repos cloning, but no tags/branches recreated??!!

  I've been cloning a few repos from github that, even though I know they have branches/tags, do not have them once I clone them onto my local drive. strage. I try to list the tags (git tag) but nothing comes up... I would look into .git/refs/tags/ and that too is empty. the repos in question are: http://github.com/jchris/hovercraft.git http://github.com/apache/couchdb.git any ideas? I really need specific tags/branches, and not the HEAD of the master

When we install the application on Windows 2008 server we get the following error while trying to open crystal report in excel format Error is : Error in File :"....rpt" Error detected by export DLL. The report opens up fine in PDF on server Opeing report in Excel works fine on my local(development) machine...But this error is thrown on server... When I'm running my program, I get the following error: ... nested exception is javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: ejb not bound The error occurs at the start up when Java wants to create a certain bean. The Bean is a SimpleRemoteStatelessSessionProxyFactoryBean. Could it be that I ain't got the rights to access the naming provider URL although I can ping it? When accessing the bean on my local JBoss there are no problems.

  I can't run a debug sdk application because it requires both VC 8 and VC 9 versions of the CRT. But it only requires visual studio 2008 for plugin dev, which is what I need. How do I install the debug runtimes from 2005 on to a Windows7 machine? I can't figure out how to make them run app local nor can I copy anything into the winSxS folder without a trusted installer.

I was under the impression that using them with the unitName specified would allow me to use x number of PUs without problem but I still get: expected single matching bean but found two: [emf1, emf2].
