• How can I sqldump a huge database?

  SELECT count(*) from table gives me 3296869 rows. The table only contains 4 columns, storing dropped domains. I tried to dump the sql through: $backupFile = $dbname . date("Y-m-d-H-i-s") . '.gz'; $command = "mysqldump --opt -h $dbhost -u $dbuser -p $dbpass $dbname | gzip > $backupFile"; However, this just dumps an empty 20 KB gzipped file. My client is using shared hosting so the server specs and resource usage aren't top of the line. I'm not even given ssh access or access directly to the database so I have to make queries through PHP scripts I upload via FTP ( SFTP isn't an option, again ). Is there some way I can perhaps sequentially download portions of it, or pass an argument to mysqldump that will optimize it? I came across http://jeremy.zawodny.com/blog/archives/000690.html which mentions the -q flag and tried that but it didn't seem to do anything differently.

  Hi All, I have a bit of code that works with a result set called "result" (original I know) but depending on the incoming variable I'd like to fire the specific query depending. I have the below in an if statement but that just makes the "result" recordset gets those nasty red lines and it doesn't work. • Filter a List via Another

  I have a requirement to filter a list of Clients based on if they haven't had any jobs booked in the last x months. In my code I have two lists, one is my Clients and the other is a filtered List of Jobs between today and x months ago and the idea is to filter Clients based on their id not appearing in the jobs list. I tried the following: filteredClients.Where(n => jobsToSearch.Count(j => j.Client == n.ClientID) == 0).ToList(); But I seem to get ALL clients regardless. I can easily do a foreach but this severly slows down the process. How can I filter the client list based on the job list effectively?

  Hey guys, I was wondering what happens when a program processes an if-structure with multiple conditions. I have an idea, but i'm not sure about it. I'll give an example : List<string> myTestList = null; if (myTestList != null && myTestList.Count > 0) { //process } The list is null. When processing the if, will it go from left to right exiting the if as soon as one condition is false? I've tried it and seems to throw no errors, so i assume the above explains it, but i'm not sure. Thanks in advance.

  Hi, I have made a leaderboard table on my site, which returns the users in the MySQL database with the highest scores (score is a separate field). The fields in the leaderboard table are 'rank' 'username' and 'score'. I would like to link each username in the table to it's own profile page. The profile pages are in the format /profile.php?user=$username. How would I go about adding an <a href> within the table (which is echoed in php): echo '<tr><td>' .$a. '</td><td><a href="profile.php?user=' .$row['username']. '">' .$row['username']. '</a></td><td>'.$row['count'].'</td></tr>'; I've tried the above, but it doesn't seem to work.   We have an JPA @Entity class (say User) which has a @ManyToOne reference (say Address) loaded using the EAGER option which in turn loads it's own @ManyToOne fields (say Country) in a EAGER fashion. We use the EntityQuery interface to count the list of User's based on a search criteria, during such a load all the @ManyToOne fields which have been marked as EAGER get loaded. But in order to perform a EntityQuery.resultCount(), I actually don't need to load the @ManyToOne fields. Is there a way to prevent loading of the EAGER fields in such cases so that we can avoid the unnecessary joins?

  Hello, I'm trying to use YQL's spelling and search suggestions, but as much as I try I cant find a way to change the language/region for the query, how is this done? • MVC 1.0 + EF: Does db.EntitySet.where(something) still return all rows in table?

Why am I seeing all table entries retrieved, and not just 1? I thought row filtering was done in the DB. If db.EntitySet really does fetch everything to the client, what's the right way to keep the client data-lite using EF? Fetching all rows won't scale for what I'm doing.

  I am trying to load all the .png files from an internal application folder into a list control and I am stuck on exactly how to do it. I have tried httpservice to get the folder and count how many images there are so I can loop through them but I just cant figure that out. File structure -src -(default package) -my application files -icons -all my .png files httpService i tried: <s:HTTPService id="loadAllImages" destination="/icons" result="gotImages(event)" fault="loadAllImagesFault(event)"/> This always results in directory not found. Am I going about this completely wrong? Anyone have a suggestion?

  My problem is, I need a background image, a sprite(with animation) on left edge, another sprite(with animation) at other edge, a number count animation 1-2-3 at middle. I got all these when I wrote all in same file.(like [self addChild:label], [self addChild:sprite].., But in this it needs touch enables for both sprites separately, and touchDisabled to the remaining screen. So thought of writing in different files. But now it is not working. I kept one sprite, background image, numbercount in one file and another spritr in other file. Either I am getting the second sprite or the (sprite+background+numberCount) is displayed. This is my problem. plz give me solution. Thank You

  Occasionally I read news articles that mention about some computer models that computer scientists use to predict winners of some sporting events or the odds for betting which I think there must be a mathematical model behind it. I never bothered to think twice even though I am a "pseudo computer scientist" myself. With the 2010 FIFA World Cup just underway, and since I am also a "pseudo football/soccer player" myself, I just started to wonder about these calculations algorithms. For example, I know one factor is determining the strength of opponents, so that a win against a strong opponent can count more than a win against a weak opponent. But it now kind of gets in a circular loop, or at least how does one determine the strength of a team in the first place, before that team can be considered strong or weak? If it's based on a historical data then there's no way that could be accurate, because those players of the past are no longer on the fields so their impact is none (except maybe if they become coaches like Maradona) Anyway, long question short, if you're happen to be working in this field or have some knowledge, please shed some lights.

  I'm trying to list the number of records per hour inserted into a database for the last 24 hours. Each row displays the records inserted that hour, as well as how many hours ago it was. Here's my query now: SELECT COUNT(*), FLOOR( TIME_TO_SEC( TIMEDIFF( NOW(), time)) / 3600 ) FROM `records` WHERE time > DATE_SUB(NOW(), INTERVAL 24 HOUR) GROUP BY HOUR(time) ORDER BY time ASC right now it returns: 28 23 62 23 14 20 1 4 28 3 19 1 That shows two rows from 23 hours ago, when it should only show one per hour. I think it has something to do with using NOW() instead of getting the time at the start of the hour, which I'm unsure on how to get. There must be a simpler way of doing this.

Is there a simple way to tell how many entries are populated, or the highest dimension of populated entries, other than to loop through and count them? I know Ubound finds the highest dimension of the array but that's not what I need. Is there something like Ubound but it only find populated entries, or the highest dimension populated? Also, what if the array is multidimensional. I'm working in excel vba.

• How should I store Dynamically Changing Data into Server Cache?

  Hey all, EDIT: Purpose of this Website: Its called Utopiapimp.com. It is a third party utility for a game called utopia-game.com. The site currently has over 12k users to it an I run the site. The game is fully text based and will always remain that. Users copy and paste full pages of text from the game and paste the copied information into my site. I run a series of regular expressions against the pasted data and break it down. I then insert anywhere from 5 values to over 30 values into the DB based on that one paste. I then take those values and run queries against them to display the information back in a VERY simple and easy to understand way. The game is team based and each team has 25 users to it. So each team is a group and each row is ONE users information. The users can update all 25 rows or just one row at a time. I require storing things into cache because the site is very slow doing over 1,000 queries almost every minute. So here is the deal. Imagine I have an excel spreadsheet with 100 columns and 5000 rows. Each row has two unique identifiers. One for the row it self and one to group together 25 rows a piece. There are about 10 columns in the row that will almost never change and the other 90 columns will always be changing. We can say some will even change in a matter of seconds depending on how fast the row is updated. Rows can also be added and deleted from the group, but not from the database. The rows are taken from about 4 queries from the database to show the most recent and updated data from the database. So every time something in the database is updated, I would also like the row to be updated. If a row or a group has not been updated in 12 or so hours, it will be taken out of Cache. Once the user calls the group again via the DB queries. They will be placed into Cache. The above is what I would like. That is the wish. In Reality, I still have all the rows, but the way I store them in Cache is currently broken. I store each row in a class and the class is stored in the Server Cache via a HUGE list. When I go to update/Delete/Insert items in the list or rows, most the time it works, but sometimes it throws errors because the cache has changed. I want to be able to lock down the cache like the database throws a lock on a row more or less. I have DateTime stamps to remove things after 12 hours, but this almost always breaks because other users are updating the same 25 rows in the group or just the cache has changed. This is an example of how I add items to Cache, this one shows I only pull the 10 or so columns that very rarely change.
