Subclassing ViewPager Breaks Animation

In my Android application I have an activity which uses a view pager to display 4+ pages (Fragments). I implemented buttons on each screen that move between pages by calling: pager.setCurrentItem(position, true); The view pager and fragments are all working as I desired. I then began looking for a solution to disable user swiping between pages so that the transition between pages in handled by the buttons only. The solution I found was mentioned in a few stackoverflow articles as well as This Blog that suggest subclassing the view pager to intercept touch events to disable swiping. I followed those examples by subclassing the view pager class as follows: public class ViewPager extends android.support.v4.view.ViewPager { private boolean enabled; public ViewPager(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) { super(context, attrs); this.enabled = true; } @Override public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { if (this.enabled) { return super.onTouchEvent(event); } return false; } @Override public boolean onInterceptTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { if (this.enabled) { return super.onInterceptTouchEvent(event); } return false; } public void setSwipingEnabled(boolean enabled) { this.enabled = enabled; } } Using the subclassed view pager and calling setSwipingEnabled(false) works as was desired. The user can no longer move between pages with swipe gestures and I can still move between pages via button clicks by calling setCurrentItem(int position, boolean smoothScroll). However using the subclass breaks the animation between pages. When I call setCurrentItem(position, true) with android.support.v4.view.ViewPager I get very clean scrolling animations between pages. When I make the same call using the subclass the screen has a very brief 'flash' and then automatically draws the new page. I would like to know how to fix the animation while retaining the ability to disable user swiping between pages. I greatly appreciate any help with this. Let me know if you need any additional information. So far I have tested using a Samsung device running 2.3.5 and an AVD emulator targeting Android 2.3.3.

wpf command pattern

I have a wpf gui which displays a list of information in separate window and in a separate thread from the main application. As the user performs actions in the main window the side window is updated. (For example if you clicked page down in the main window a listbox in the side window would page down). Right now the architecture for this application feels very messy and I'm sure there is a cleaner way to do it. It looks like this: Main Window contains a singleton SideWindowControl which communicates with an instance of the SideWindowDisplay using events - so, for example, the pagedown button would work like: 1) the event handler of the button on the main window calls SideWindowControl.PageDown() 2) in the PageDown() function a event is created and thrown. 3) finally the gui, ShowSideWindowDisplay is subscribing to the SideWindowControl.Actions event handles the event and actually scrolls the listbox down - note because it is in a different thread it has to do that by running the command via Dispatcher.Invoke() This just seems like a very messy way to this and there must be a clearer way (The only part that can't change is that the main window and the side window must be on different threads). Perhaps using WPF commands? I'd really appreciate any suggestions!! Thanks

I have a SQL Query which works in SQL Management Studio: Select Id From table t Where t.Date= (Select Max(Date) From ( Select * From table where ReferenceId = xy) u) Reason is, from all entries with a certain foreign key, I want to receive the one with the highest date. I tried to reform this Query for use in NHibernate, and I got IQuery query = session.CreateQuery(String.Format( @"Select t.Id From table t Where t.Date = (Select Max(Date) From (Select * From table t where t.ReferenceItem.Id = " + item.ReferenceItem.Id + ")u)")); I get the error message: "In expected" How do I have to form the NHibernate query? What does the "In" mean?

Hi I'm using the rails plugin acts-as-taggable-onand I'm trying to find the top 5 most used tags whose names match and partially match a given query. When I do User.skill_counts.order('count DESC').limit(5).where('name LIKE ?', params[:query]) This return the following error: ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: SQLite3::SQLException: ambiguous column name: name: SELECT tags.*, COUNT(*) AS count FROM "tags" INNER JOIN users ON users.id = taggings.taggable_id LEFT OUTER JOIN taggings ON tags.id = taggings.tag_id AND taggings.context = 'skills' WHERE (taggings.taggable_type = 'User') AND (taggings.taggable_id IN(SELECT users.id FROM "users")) AND (name LIKE 'asd') GROUP BY tags.id, tags.name HAVING COUNT(*) > 0 ORDER BY count DESC LIMIT 5 But when I do User.skill_counts.first.name this returns "alliteration" I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

I've got my database set up with three tables - code, tags, and code_tags for tagging posts. This will be the SQL query processed when a post is submitted. Each tag is sliced up by PHP and individually inserted using these queries. INSERT IGNORE INTO tags (tag) VALUES ('$tags[1]'); SELECT tags.id FROM tags WHERE tag = '$tags[1]' ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 1; INSERT INTO code_tags (code_id, tag_id) VALUES ($codeid, WHAT_GOES_HERE?) The WHAT_GOES_HERE? value at the end is what I need to know. It needs to be the ID of the tag that the second query fetched. How can I put that ID into the third query? I hope I explained that correctly. I'll rephrase if necessary.

WPF TextBlock Overflow Text to the Left

As background I have a very long ID that too long to display in the given area of the TextBlock. The interesting portion of the ID is the end, that is the rightmost portion. What I would like to do is have the TextBlock, rather than the text overflowing right and cutting off the rightmost portion, overflow left and cutoff the leftmost portion. That is given the ID 123456 and a TextBlock with enough space to hold four characters, to get the TextBlock to display 3456 rather than 1234 as it does by default. I could manually trim my ID for display, but given a variable spaced font that's not ideal. So is there someway to get WPF do change the overflow direction?

Hello, I'm trying to get something like this: http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/552/layoutoy.png. I'm using this as a list item (technically as the group view of an ExpandableListView). Here's the XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:orientation="horizontal" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="?android:attr/listPreferredItemHeight"> <TextView android:id="@+id/list_item_text" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:ellipsize="end" /> <Button android:id="@+id/list_item_button" android:text="Click me!" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:layout_alignParentRight="true" android:layout_toRightOf="@id/list_item_text" /> </RelativeLayout> But this doesn't work. The Button doesn't wrap its contents, instead it uses all available horizontal space. The TextView does wrap its contents, but what I want it to do is to cut off when it overlaps the Button. In other words, I want all the buttons to be of the same width, regardless of the amount of text in the textviews. Is this at all possible?

Having trouble parsing XML with jQuery

Hi Guys, I'm trying to parse some XML data using jQuery, and as it stands I have extracted the 'ID' attribute of the required nodes and stored them in an array, and now I want to run a loop for each array member and eventually grab more attributes from the notes specific to each ID. The problem currently is that once I get to the 'for' loop, it isn't looping, and I think I may have written the xml path data incorrectly. It runs once and I recieve the 'alert(arrayIds.length);' only once, and it only loops the correct amount of times if I remove the subsequent xml path code. I keep current user id and user type in session and authenticate user from these session variables (say Session["UserId"],Session["UserName"] and Session["UserType"]) I do authentications. Please guide me how it is insecure ? I heard such security can be broken and applications can be hacked very easily, like it is possible to get session id and directly connect to that session id etc. Please guide me on this thanks

AS3 How do I stop sound and video when clicking a menu button to go to another frame?

Hello, I have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data. So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it? Using a set of numbers inside a database without creating a temporary table

I have a set of numbers and a table in a database with the id (primary key) and text (not null) columns. I would like to create a query that returns all the numbers in the set and the associated text from the table. Unfortunately not all numbers exist in the database's id column, so this won't work: select id, text from table where id in (<set of numbers>) For the non-existing ids the best would be to return null as the text from the query. Is there a way to produce the desired output without first creating a temporary table from the set inside the database? The database engine in use is a Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1 but I'd be interested in any solution with any database engine.

I have two tables. The first table has two columns: ID and date_of_price. The date_of_price field skips weekend days and bank holidays when markets are closed. table: trading_dates ID date_of_price 1 8/7/2008 2 8/8/2008 3 8/11/2008 4 8/12/2008 The second table also has two columns: ID and expiration_date. The expiration_date field is the one day in each month when options expire. table: expiration_dates ID expiration_date 1 9/20/2008 2 10/18/2008 3 11/22/2008 I would like to do a query that subtracts a certain number of days from the expiration dates, with the caveat that the resulting date must be a valid date_of_price. If not, then the result should be the next valid date_of_price. For instance, say we are subtracting 41 days from the expiration_date. 41 days prior to 9/20/2008 is 8/10/2008. Since 8/10/2008 is not a valid date_of_price, we have to skip 8/10/2008. The query should return 8/11/2008, which is the next valid date_of_price. Any advice would be appreciated! :-)

Reducing a normalized table to one value

Hello, I'm sure this has been asked but I'm not quite sure how to properly search for this question, my apologies. I have two tables, Foo and Bar. For has one row per Food, bar has many rows per food matching descriptors. Foo name id Apple 1 Orange 2 Bar id description 1 Tasty 1 Ripe 2 Sweet etc (sorry for the somewhat contrived example). I'm trying to return a query where if, for each row in Foo, Bar contains a descriptor in ('Tasty', 'Juicy') return true ex: Output Apple True Orange False I had been solving this somewhat trivially with a case when I only had one item to match select Foo.name, case bar.description when 'Tasty' then True else 'False' end from Foo left join Bar on foo.id = bar.id where bar.description = 'Tasty' But with multiple items, I keep ending up with extra rows: Output Apple True Apple False etc etc Can someone point me in the right direction on how to think about this problem or what I should be doing? Jquery: how to trigger td a when tr is clicked

Hey, I have a table where the first td in the trs contains a link. I want this anchor to be triggered (clicked) no matter where i click in the containing tr. I have read and tried alot of recents post and suggentions on this topic but i can't get this to work. I tried the trigger() and triggerHandle() functions, but it does not trigger the anchor click that i want. There must be others who have had the need to trigger a anchor click when a tr is clicked, so that the user doesn't have to click the tds anchor link. It sure is a nice UI feature if its possible?
