  • Dynamically add new HTML elements on page load after getting JSON data from Web API

    I'm building an hybrid Android App using Phonegap/Apache Cordova. My app should get data from my web api. I'm using JSON to serve the data to the APP. Everythings works fine in the Eclipse browser, but on the Android Emulator is not working.   • Completion block not being called. How to check validity?

    I have this method which takes a block, but that block isn't always called. See the method: - (void)updateWithCompletion:(void (^)(void))completion { [MYObject myMethodWithCompletion:^(NSArray *array, NSError *error) { if (error) { NSLog(@"%s, ERROR not nil", __FUNCTION__); completion(); return; } NSLog(@"%s, calling completion %d", __FUNCTION__, &completion); completion(); NSLog(@"%s, finished completion", __FUNCTION__); }]; } I have some more NSLogs inside completion. Sometimes this program counter just blows right past the call to completion() in the code above. I don't see why this would be as the calling code always passes a literal block of code as input. If you're curious of the output of the line containing the addressof operator, it's always something different, but never 0 or nil. What would cause completion not to be executed?

    Hello, I seem to be having some problems creating a jquery plugin. I am testing a simple plugin in firebug console and the function is not being defined as I would expect. Here is the code pattern I am using jQuery.fn.test = function () {console.log("runs")} I am trying to call the function with this call which is not working. $.test() But this call does $.fn.test() I don't think this is how it is supposed to work so I think I am doing something wrong, although all the documentation seems to agree that I should be correct. This functions as expected in all browsers apart from IE7, where if I scroll the list to choose a time lower down in the list, the list dissapears..     I have a number of inputs on a page function as JQ UI datepicker. Each needs to have different settings. I want to minimize the JS so I save the settings as an attribute in each individual . <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="dateofbirth" id="dateofbirth" size="20" value="" options="{ dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd',changeYear: true,yearRange: '1920:2010'}" /> <input type="text" class="datepicker" name="expdate" id="expdate" size="20" value="" options="{ yearRange: '2011:2020'}" /> I use js to load the options dynamically as the settings. $(document).ready(function(){ $(".datepicker").each(function(index){ $(this).datepicker("option" , $(this).attr('options')); }); }); datepicker is not functioning. If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

JQuery functions are fired when the related elements are loaded, instead of complete pageload. This is a common practice to call a javascript function when page is loaded like window.onload = function(){ alert("Mindfire") } or Inside of which is the code that we want to run right when the page is loaded. Problematically, however, the Javascript code isn't run until all images are finished downloading (this includes banner ads). The reason for using window.onload in the first place is due to the fact that the HTML 'document' isn't finished loading yet, when you first try to run your code. To circumvent both problems, jQuery has a simple statement that checks the document and waits until it's ready to be manipulated, known as the ready event $(document).ready(function() { // Your code here });

  • Is it possible that __doPostBack() would ever send a GET request?

    I'm having a problem with telerik RadGrid, I want to enable multiple row selection. I also want to go to the server whenever a row is selected or deselected. I created a javascript function to handle the Grid's client side events (OnRowSelected, and OnRowDeSelected). The functions look like this: function onOperationRowSelected(sender, eventArgs) { __doPostBack("<%=myControl.ClientID %>", "rowSelected:" + eventArgs.get_itemIndexHierarchical()); } The other function is very similar, the only difference is that it sends the string "rowDeselcted" instead of "rowSelected". On Page_Load I check to see if the request is a Post request using "IsPostBack" and if so, I check to see if it's a rowSelected or rowdeselected. My problem is when I select a first raw on my grid, a Post request happens (which is expected), however, when I select the second row, a GET request is issued, which (obviously) will result in IsPostBack returning false. What am I missing here?

    Hi there, I have a script saved in a ps1 file in which I define 2 functions as such: function Invoke-Sql([string]$query) { Invoke-Sqlcmd -ServerInstance $Server -Database $DB -User $User -Password $Password -Query $query } function Get-Queued { Invoke-Sql "Select * From Comment where AwaitsModeration = 1" } In the PowerShell console I then call the ps1 file by typing it in (it's in a folder in the path, and autocompletion works) However, I cannot start using the functions. I am confused, because when I copy / paste the functions into the console, all is fine and they work. I also have a function defined in my profile, and it works. Where am I thinking wrong, why doesn't it work what I'm trying to do?

    I have a major issue with the build of a machine I am trying to get up and running. My goal is to create a file server that will service the needs of my software development, personal media storage and streaming/media server needs, as well as provide a strong platform for backing up all this data in a routine, cron-job oriented German efficiency sort of way. The issue is a simple one - all my drives are SATA drives and my motherboard controller only contains 4 ports. Solving the issue has proven to be an unmitigated nightmare. I would like advice on the purchase of the following: 4 Port internal SATA / 2 Port external eSATA PCI SATA Controller Card that has the following features and/or advantages: It must function. If I plug it in and attach drives, I expect my system to still make it to the Operating System login screen. It must function on CentOS, and I mean it must function WELL and with MINIMAL hassle. If hassle is unavoidable, there shall be CLEAR CUT and EASY TO FOLLOW instructions on how to install drivers and other supporting software. I do not need nor want fakeRAID - I will be setting up any RAID configurations from within the operating system. Now, if I am able to find such a mythical device, I would be eternally grateful to whomever would be able to point me in the right direction, a direction which I assume will be paved with yellow bricks. I am prepared to pay a considerable sum of money (as SATA controller cards go) and so paying anywhere between 60 to 120 dollars will not be an issue whatsoever. Does such a magical device exist? The following link shows an "example" of the type of thing I am looking for, however, I have no way of verifying that once I plug this baby in that my system will still continue to function once I've attached the drives, or that once I've made it to the OS, I will be able to install whatever drivers or software programs I need to make it work with relative ease.   • Using iterateFunc to call objective c method

    Using spacemanager, I need to perform an action on select bodies after each step, so I figured that defining my own C function for iterateFunc would be the way to go. Everything works great, except I'm not sure how to then call an obj c method in the same class. In other words, an obj c class contains both the c function replacing iterateFunc, and the method that needs to be called. I don't see how to tell the c function what 'self' is, such that I can call the method. As far as i can tell, there's no way to pass in any extra info to the new iterateFunc. Any ideas, or a better way to go about things?
