  $(".inputTypeDate").datepicker({ dateFormat: "dd.mm.yy", changeMonth: true, changeYear: true }); <asp:TextBox ID="txtBirthday" runat="server" CssClass="inputTypeDate" Visible="false" ValidationGroup="urgent"></asp:TextBox> in aspx we have some component set to Visible="false" then we change visibility to true. But jquery datepicker calendar does not work in this component. If Visible="true" by default then works. Why and how to fix that. I think that problem is in changing visibility.

  This isn't exactly Fermat's last theorem, but it keeps coming back to annoy me like an unpaid phone bill from college. Sometimes I want to create a HyperLink that does not cause a postback, so I want the target url to be #. When the markup happens to be from a UserControl in a subfolder, / |- Home.aspx (uses UC.ascx) |- Sub |- UC.ascx the URL is rewritten with a relative path, e.g. <asp:HyperLink runat="server" NavigateUrl="#" >Click Me!</asp:HyperLink> becomes <a href="SubFolder/#">Click Me!</a> Which is, unfortunately, wrong. Obviously I can get around this by not using a server control, but it seems stupid. Can this be avoided? The point here is I will add a click event with jQuery or in code-behind, and I never want it to cause a postback, but I want it to be a hyperlink for CSS reasons.

  After about a year doing Asp.net web forms, I stepped out (for the most part) from the .net world. I'm now working on a webapp that uses a lot of client side scripting and uses WebAPI for data access. I have a HTML section that allows note taking. I would like to make this HTML section into a template that I can reuse elsewhere on the site (e.g., insert this piece of HTML code into another web page). I'm a bit befuddled on how to go about this. Think of my problem as trying to create a "user control" in asp.net web forms ... only that I am not using web forms. Just good old fashioned HTML, CSS, Javascript, jquery, and knockout. Conceptually, I'd think that others have been in the same spot as myself. Can anyone elaborate a solution or at least provide some pointers? Thanks !

MS-Access DB. i do: INSERT INTO Orders (userId) VALUES (123)" what i want to retrieve is orderNumber from that row. its an auto-increment number. so i did: SELECT orderNumber FROM Orders WHERE userId=123 but since it is on the same page, the SELECT returns: Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. • Getting SharePoint absolute site url

  I need to get the current absolute url of my site from inside an aspx page (no codebehind). I tried $SPUrl, but it get's converted into a relative url. <asp:Literal runat="server" text="<% $SPUrl:~Site/mypage.aspx %>" /> results in "/mypage.aspx". It's important that I get the full absolute url starting with "http://". <asp:Literal runat="server" text="<% $SPUrl:~SiteCollection/mypage.aspx %>" /> does the same. The goal is to get this url: "http://myspweb.com/mypage.aspx" as result.

• The href value of the Html anchor tag is rendering weird

  I want to assign dynamically the href value depending of certain things, I thing is important to mention that I have a Master Page, url routing and I am assigning absolute paths (like http://www.stackoverflow.com/questions/...). I've tried the following: <a href="<%= DynamicURL%>">testing urls</a> <asp:HyperLink runat="server" ID="hpLink">this teset brouw</asp:HyperLink> and in code behind hpLink.NavigateUrl = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; I have also tried this <a runat="server" id="aAccesories">Testing ...</a> and in code behind I do this: aAccesorios.HRef = "http://www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs"; what ever I try when I see the html source code the links render like this: http://localhost:10027/projectTest/\www.someurl.com/morepath/morethisngs so I cant create absolute paths or absolute URLS, doesnt matter what I tried, this is weird isnt it? i adds the domain to the urls and then it removes the http:// then it adds the path I wanted hope you can help me, thanks!

  Hello I've been using enity framework that came with 3.5sp. And now I've redone things for enityframework 4 and asp.net mvc 2. I've come across something (which worked in my previous version and asp.net mvc 1.0). I have this: public IQueryable<Booking> GetBookings() { return from b in _entities.Bookings.Include("BookingObject") select b; } And in my controller I have: return View("Index", new BookingsViewModel { Bookings = _br.GetBookings().ByDay(DateTime.Today) }); And it doesnt seem to include the "BookingObject"-entity, so I can type like <%= Model.Bookings.BookingObject.BookingObjectName %> in my view. What might be missing here? Do I need to turn something on in the diagram for it to include entities or? /M

• Disabling identity (auto-incrementing) on integer primary key using code first

  I am using code first approach in a ASP.NET MVC 3 application and all integer primary keys in models (public int Id { get; set; }) are by default configured as an identity with auto-incrementing. How to disable this and enable a way to manually enter the integer for the primary key? The actual situation is that the Id integers have a special meaning and I would therefore like to have them choosable at creation and later editable. It would be ideal if in case the integer is not given at creation time it is auto-incremented, else the specified value is used. But editable primary fields is my primary need. Is there any way to do this elegantly in ASP.NET MVC 3?

• URL Routing to Default Page

  Hi everyone, I have an asp.net 4.0 web forms app setup with url rereouting. In development, my app's URL looks perfect. I have a page called enrollnow.aspx that responds to the routing, so if I type in localhost/enrollnow/abc, my app responds as expected. Once promoted into my staging environment however, the URL is off. I have a domain, and a virtual dir created off of my domain called "enrollnow". So basically, my URL outside of development is: mydomain.com/enrollnow/enrollnow/abc - where the first enrollnow is the directory, the second enrollnow is the page name, and the abc is my route value. Is there any way I can have the "default page" respond, so the second enrollnow (which is enrollnow.asp) isnt required? Perhaps I can rename my enrollnow.aspx page to default.aspx, or I can change the mapping in my routetable? Heres my routetable, incase that helps. thanks!   I am trying to jump from ASP Classic to asp.net. I have followed tutorials to get Entity Framework and LINQ to connect to my test database, but I am having difficulties figuring out ExecuteQuery(). I believe the problem is that I need an "entity class" for my database, but I can't figure out how to do it. • can I debug my web project and wcf project on same vs 2008 instance ?

  I have two projects in my solution   1- asp.net web project.   2- wcf serivce project.   3- other common projects between two listed above Current on the local dev machine I have to run two visual studio instance to run both projects in debug mode. That makes the system run out of resources as these projects share some other project in the soultion which are heavy in files. Is there a way i can hookup the wcf project on a sinlge visual stodio instance and also be able to debug my asp.net web project. ? I do not want to combine the web and wcf project in to one.   I come into ASP.NET from php so the reason why i ask my question is because it's totally different nature of how application works and handles requests. well, i have an exists table with user creditians, such as: id, login, password (sha hashed), email, phone, room i have built custom membership provider so it can handle my own database authentication schema. and now i'm confused, because User.Identity.Name contains only user's login, but not the complete object (i'm using linq2sql to communicate with database and i need in it's User object to work). at php applications i just store user object at some static method at Auth class (or some another), but here at ASP.NET MVC i cannot do this, because static member is shared across all requests and permanent, and not lives within only current request (as it was at php). so my question is: how and where should i retrieve and store linq2sql user object to work with it within current and only current request? (after request processed successfully i expect it will be disposed from memory and on next request will be created again). or i'm following totally wrong way?

The person may then select it. • Redirect issues

  Whoever wrote the navigation for the site I’m currently working on (classic asp) points the navigation links to a folder, then inside to folder has an index.asp file, so the urls will look something like this www.mysite.com/myfolder/mysubfolder Now, when watch the page load using httpfox, I notice that the first entry is a 302 redirect to the same address with a “/” on the end, so www.mysite.com/myfolder gets redirected to www.mysite.com/myfolder/ (note the / on the end). I’m not to worried that it’s a 302 since its in the admin section of the site, but when I forward the host headers from ISA server, for an https request, its being redirected from https://www.mysite.com/myfolder to http://www.mysite.com:443/myfolder/ and causing all kinds of problems. Anyway, I can’t seem to find any code making this redirect happen, so does IIS 6 do this because the url points to a folder? Or do I need to comb through the code more closely?
