  I'm trying to use an integer as the numerical representation of a string, for example, storing "ABCD" as 0x41424344. However, when it comes to output, I've got to convert the integer back into 4 ASCII characters. Right now, I'm using bit shifts and masking, as follows: int value = 0x41424344; string s = new string ( new char [] { (char)(value >> 24), (char)(value >> 16 & 0xFF), (char)(value >> 8 & 0xFF), (char)(value & 0xFF) }); Is there a cleaner way to do this? I've tried various casts, but the compiler, as expected, complained about it.

  I hope someone understands what happens to my NSMutableArray. I read records a, b, c, d from a database, load the fields into an object an add the object to an array.   So a collection in VB6 keeps track of a key for each object, and you can look up the object by its key. Does that mean collections are implemented as some sort of hashtable under the hood? I realize you can have multiple items with the same key in a collection, hence the SOME SORT. Anybody know what type data structure a VB6 collection is supposed to represent?

  I want to represent a graph in Haskell in the following manner: For each node I want to store it's value and a list of adjacent nodes,the problem which i'm having difficulties with is that I want the adjacent nodes to be stored as references to other nodes.   UPDATE TableA SET Value = a.Value * b.AnotherValue FROM TableA AS a INNER JOIN TableB AS b WHERE (Condition is true); Here is the problem. The Value field for TableA does not allow nulls. If the calculation of a.Value * b.AnotherValue yields a null, an error is thrown. Now the question. Is there any way to tell the UPDATE to ignore the SET phase when the result of the calculation is a null and delete the record rather than updating it. This UPDATE is intended to update hundreds of records at a time but will fail if a single null is encountered. Also, please note that using the ISNULL() function and setting the Value to zero is not acceptable. I would like the record to be dropped if a null is encountered. Many thanks in advance for any help rendered.

• Javascript is freezing the browser when running this code

  I am trying to get the value of a text input and check if there is any links in it and then take those links and make them into tags. But when I run this code, something is going wrong and it completely freezes the page. Basically, I want it to check for "http://" and if that exists, to keep on adding to the substr length until the end of the string/link.   After loading my RSACryptoServiceProvider rsa object i would like to create a key for my AES object. Since i dont need to store the AES key (i only need it to decrypt on my prv side) i figure i dont need to store it and i can generate it with my public key. I thought doing rsa.Encrypt(byte[] with 4 hardcoded bytes); would generate the data i need. It turns out everytime i call this function even with the same data i get different results. So theres no way for me to recreate the AES key if its different everytime. How can i generate data with RSA in a way that i can recreate anytime i need?

  Hi everybody. i'm using jquery 1.3.2, and have a problem in situatsuin where i fill select via getJson $.each(data, function() { $("#select_elem").append("<option value='"+this.Value+"'>" + this.Value + "</option>"); }); and after, when i try to get selected value : var sel_val = $("#select_elem"); alert(sel_val.val()); in IE it works, in FF it always shows the first value in list, in chrome it's always null. is there any way to fix this?   How can I loop through the array below and an element per array, with key "url_slug" and value "foo"? I tried with array_push but that gets rid of the key names (it seems?) In an example Put method, there are two lines: int hash = key.hashCode(); // get the hashcode of the key int index = compress(hash); // compress it to an index I was of the understanding that the hashCode method used the key to return an index, and you would place the key/value pair in the array at that index. But here we "compress" the hash code to get the index. What does this method do? How does it "compress" the hash code? Is it necessary and/or preferred?
