  • vs2010 Cache SQL data incorrect fields

    OK, I found a walkthrough on msdn for what I was after (offline database cache). However when I let the wizard create a local database from my online sql server the timespan fields are converted to a string?? Now I know the suggestion was to create my own local database and then use the MS Synch framework...however...this proclaims to do it "out of the box" However now I've a dataset which I've no idea how to use, and a database newly formed (for the synched cache) taht I will have to use Ling to Entities with(??) meanwhile I have this weird timespan to string conversion? should I give up now or push on? can i overwrite the the .designer.cs? typeof(string) to typeof(timespan)? damn wizards!!

  • How do I get IE to open a file with its associated application?

    MSTest produces an XML file with a .trx extension containing test results. If I have a .trx file on a machine without Visual Studio installed, I get prompted to "Use the Web Service..." or "Select from a list...", which is expected. If I have a .trx file on my development machine and I open it, it opens in Visual Studio, which is expected. If I click a link on a web page or in an email which gets a .trx file from my build server, it ALWAYS opens the XML in IE. How do I configure IE (or IIS on the build server) to open the remote .trx file in Visual Studio, if it's installed, or prompt if it's not? UPDATE: If I rename the .trx file on the server and give it various extensions (eg. .bmp, .msi, .txt, .zip), it still opens as XML in IE, so it's clearly going by the content of the file and not the declared MIME type.

I am not sure of the best way to do this. I have started by incrementing through all the days of a range and checking to see if the date is in the list by iterating through the entire list each time.     Hey All Let me explain you the scenario upto now.. Been a newbie to Joomla I managed to build my own website using Joomla CMS in my computers localhost. Then after the completion of the site, I wanted to upload my Local Joomla Site to a GoDaddy Server / Hosting Account.. Thanks to Google I found the below mentioned tutorial, http://zensamarketing.com/2009/07/how-to-use-joomlapack-and-kickstart-to-upload-your-local-joomla-site-to-a-godaddy-server-hosting-account/ So far I completed up to the 7th step, But I'm stuck at the step 08. I'm using Filezilla as my FTP client, Using that I uploaded the files as per the guided on step 07 and when I try to access www.mysitename.com/kickstart.php, it is giving me the below error, Forbidden You don't have permission to access /kickstart.php on this server. Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. How can I set permission... Please explain in a non technical way.. It's worth noting also that ports 1099 and 7099 are forwarded to the server machine (which should be obvious from the stack trace). Can anyone see anyting I'm missing/doing wrong? If you need any more information just ask. EDIT: I'm practically certain the problem has nothing to do with my router settings. When disabling my port forwarding settings I get a slightly different error: Client exception: java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: (-WAN IP NOT LOCAL IP-); but it appears both on the machine locally connected to the server and on the remote machine. In addition, I got it to work seamlessly when connecting the server straight tho the modem (cutting out the router. I can only conclude the problem is in my router's settings but can't see where (I've checked and double checked the port forwarding page). That's the only answer i can come up with.

  • clearcase option for view movement from one host path to another

    Hi all, I have created a clearcase dynamic view for my development by name "view1". I have mistakenly selected the view storage location as a local PC in my network, that was made sharable by the PC owner. I was suppose to select the view storage location to be a server. Now, the issue is that I have done lot of development with the view that I have created and have plenty of view DO's and view private files in it. So I'm ruling out the option of deleting the view from the PC local storage (host path) and then creating another view in the server with the same config spec. Please, let me know if there is any method of editing the view properties (or doing something else) by which I could be able to move the view to the server (with all the DO's and view private files retained) Thanks in advance, Rahamath

  • Why doesn't C# allow for global inferred types i.e. using var?

    I know it can't be done since using var can only be done for local variables. I'm just wondering if anyone has a theory why the C# team thought this should be so. e.g. what would be wrong with this: public class SomeClass { var someString = "hello"; //not cool public SomeClass() { var someOtherString = "hello"; //cool } } If someString is initialised then it is obviously a string just like someOtherString. Why is there one rule for local variables and another for globals?

  • SVN is not recognizing the changed files

    I had made changes in a folder called "branch", and now that its working I want to move all the src folder to the folder "trunk". But by copying src from local branch, pasting on local trunk and commiting the SVN commits nothing. Its like nothing had changed. Any idea how to commit this? Related question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/206183/how-can-i-force-subversion-to-commit-an-unchanged-file (Would work for me, but I know nothing about properties, exactly which one could I change and with which value to not crash something?)

  • Problem with sfDoctrineGuardPlugin in symfony: Not working on linux

    I have a symfony project with symfony V1.4.2 and doctrine 1.2.2. I have installed sfDoctrineGuardPlugin-4.0.1 and used to authenticate user from external method. Everything going fine, the authentication is perfect on windows machine but whenever I take this to linux machine, the login does not work. It keeps sayting "Invalid username or password". Can anyone help me, what is going wrong. If I have problem in system, then it should not work in windows either but its working perfectly in windows but not in linux. Thanks in advance

  • Efficient multiple services exposed over c# .NET remoting using more channels or end points?

    I am using remoting over TCP for a prototype distributed server application where I want to have varying multiple services exposed from each remoting server process. In some cases I want the services running from the same process but I don't want whatever is using the service to care about that. I am wondering is it more efficient to have multiple services in the same process going over the same remoting channel distinguished by endpoint URI/URL or should I be creating new channels on different ports for each service in the same process? Using up ports isn't so much of a problem as the number of services will be low and the network and machine configuration is completely controlled. Also its not clear to me if remoting sends the URI string for every single message or just at connection time, and whether if the remoting framework is intelligent enough to reduce work if calls are made on the same machine and even the same process?   • Asynchrous calls cause StaleObjectStateException

    Hi all, I'm struggling with a Grails service. I suppose this is a rather typical situation to end up in. Could you recommend any pattern/good practice to fix this issue? For example, is there a way to say to one of the service instances to hang on and wait for the other to finish its stuff and try again? Cheers!

  • Compiled ASP.NET application can be viewed locally only

    I have a development website running on my local machine, I can access it locally by typing the address http://mycomputer.mynetwork.local/myapp/default.aspx however when anybody else tries to browse to it they get an error: Server Error in '/' Application. The resource cannot be found. Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly. I'm using IIS7, ASP.NET 3.5 and the application is pre-compiled. Any hints?

  • Running sites on "localhost" is extremeley slow.

    Hello all, Having real trouble using my local host to test sites. It runs extremely slow! Sometimes up to a minute to load a page. I'm using firefox and the sites i'm testing run fine on other developers in my office local machines/ on the production server. I've gone through the normal things :- Disabled IPv6 Not running in debug mood Put the site in the highest app pool (High Isolated) on IIS 6. Taking of firewalls etc. The problem only seems to occur when hitting pages which contain some form of .net code in the code-behind. Appreciate that this a little bit of a vague topic / stab in the dark but would appreciate any sort of advice - it's horrible waiting a minute each refresh to try out a change! Cheers, Sean.

  • Can't access my files in ASP.NET web site

    I'm having a very difficult time. I am running windows 2008 server, I have an Able Commerce site using ASP.NET with C#. I'm writing an automated task that will ftp some xml files down into a local directory on our web server and then the program parses the xml file and saves information to our database. The problem, once I save the files to our local directory, my program has no access to the files. The NETWORK SERVICE user permissions isn't being inherited by the xml files so my program can't do anything with them. I can manually change the permissions, but this wouldn't be automated and won't work. How can I get this to work? help please, it's very frustrating.
