• GWT: reporting crawling errors for non existing links

  Google Webmaster Tools is reporting crawl errors for links that never existed, and if i check the "Linked from" tab for a given error link, it shows another that never existed. They all mention joomla/ which is not the cms used on this domain (it's wordpress fyi). UPDATE 1 I tried something: I provided one of the faulty urls to the "Fetch as Google" functionality. Instead of returning a 404, it returns a 301 to another Joomla page. • nginx, php-cgi and "No input file specified."

  I'm trying to get nginx to play nice with php-cgi, but it's not quite working how I'd like. I'm using some set variables to allow for dynamic host names--basically anything.local. I know that stuff is working because I can access static files properly, however php files don't work. I get the standard "No input file specified." error which normally occurs when the file doesn't exist, but it definitely does exist and the path is correct because I can access the static files in the same path. It could possibly be a permissions thing, but I'm not sure how that could be an issue. I'm running this on Windows under my own user account, so I think it should have permission unless php-cgi is running under a different user without me telling it to. .   I am using ipsec-tools/racoon to create my VPN. I am using racoon-tool to configure racoon.conf but when I run racoon-tool reload it only generates the first section - Global items. • Generic Repository with SQLite and SQL Compact Databases

  I am creating a project that has a mobile app (Xamarin.Android) using a SQLite database and a WPF application (Code First Entity Framework 5) using a SQL Compact database. This project will even eventually have a SQL Server database as well. Because of this I am trying to create a generic repository, so that I can pass in the correct context depending on which application is making the request. The issue I ran into is my DataContext for the SQL Compact database inherits from DbContext and the SQLite database inherits from SQLiteConnection. What is the best way to make this generic, so that it doesn't matter what kind of database is on the back end? • UAC being turned off once a day on Windows 7

  I have strange problem on my HP laptop. This began to happen recently. Whenever I start my machine, Windows 7 Action Center displays the following warning: You need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off. Actually, this does not happen if it happened once on a specific day. For example, when I start the machine in the morning, it shows up; but it never shows up in the subsequent restarts within that day. On the next day, the same thing happens again. I never disable UAC, but obviously some rootkit or virus causes this. As soon as I get this warning, I head for the UAC settings, and re-enable UAC to dismiss this warning. This is a bothersome situation as I can't fix it. First, I have run a full scan on the computer for any probable virus and malware/rootkit activity, but TrendMicro OfficeScan said that no viruses have been found. I went to an old Restore Point using Windows System Restore, but the problem was not solved. What I have tried so far (which couldn't find the rootkit): TrendMicro OfficeScan Antivirus AVAST Malwarebytes' Anti-malware Ad-Aware Vipre Antivirus GMER TDSSKiller (Kaspersky Labs) HiJackThis RegRuns UnHackMe SuperAntiSpyware Portable Tizer Rootkit Razor (*) Sophos Anti-Rootkit SpyHunter 4 There are no other strange activities on the machine. Everything works fine except this bizarre incident. What could be the name of this annoying rootkit? How can I detect and remove it? Now I know that there is a hidden trojan (rootkit) on my machine which seems to disguise itself quite successfully. Note that I don't have the chance to remove the HDD, or reinstall the OS as this is a work machine subjected to certain IT policies on a company domain. Despite all my attempts, the problem still remains. I strictly need a to-the-point method or a pukka rootkit remover to remove whatever it is. I don't want to monkey with the system settings, i.e. disabling auto runs one by one, messing the registry, etc. EDIT 2: I have found an article which is closely related to my trouble: Malware can turn off UAC in Windows 7; “By design” says Microsoft.   There are quite a few image gallery modules for Orchard but they were not invented here I wanted something a lot less sophisticated that would be as barebones and minimalist as possible out of the box, to make customization extremely easy. So I made this, in less than two days (during which I got distracted a lot). Nwazet.ZenGallery uses existing Orchard features as much as it can: Galleries are just a content part that can be added to any type The set of photos in a gallery is simply defined by a folder in Media Managing the images in a gallery is done using the standard media management from Orchard Ordering of photos is simply alphabetical order of the filenames (use 1_, 2_, etc. prefixes if you have to) The path to the gallery folder is mapped from the content item using a token-based pattern The pattern can be set per content type You can edit the generated gallery path for each item The default template is just a list of links over images, that get open in a new tab No lightbox script comes with the module, just customize the template to use your favorite script. • Adobe Coldfusion Railo OpenBD Apache Tomcat Multiple Sites

  Here's what I am trying to do, unless I am crazy: I am trying to use Tomcat with the multiple workers, so far I got OpenBD working, but having trouble with Railo, and will be tackling Adobe after. each engine deployed as a war separated by different workers I wanted to keep both the sites and engines inside my sites directory I have to remap the symlink for the WEB-INF when I switch engines = have not found a way around this my thought is to have everything separated into modules and I want to be able to execute both cfm and php code in a single site.  Ideally, it would be amazing if there would be a way to not have to remap the symlink as well. thoughts? can this be done? • IIS in VirtualBox serving files from shared Ubuntu folder

  Here's the problem: I want to use Ubuntu. But I need to develop ASP.NET (MVC) sites. So I setup VirtualBox with Win2003 and IIS6. But I would prefer my working files to be located in my Ubuntu home folder. So I setup shared folder in VirtualBox and make IIS6 virtual directory work from there. The problem is, IIS6 can't do this. Whatever I try (mapped drive, network uri path) I get different IIS errors: can't access folder (for mapped drive), can't monitor file system changes (\vboxsvr share path), and so on. Is there a way for IIS6 in virtual machine to configure virtual application folder to be on host machine (Ubuntu) - be it shared folder, mapped drive, smb share, or whatever?

  Hi guys, just a quick question, I'm kind of confused. I've had set-up my own certification authority and I can create requests and signed them. But, I'm not sure, what I need to give to Apache, currently I've got: CA Private key CA Certificate Website Private key Website Certificate Website Certificate Request (I think I do not need it, but just to be clear) Until today I was using snakeoil certificate, but I've decided to have more SSL services, than CA looks as good solution, so my Apache was configured well, but now I am not sure what I shall provide to apache in following rules: SSLCertificateKeyFile /path/to/Website Private Key SSLCertificateFile /path/to/CA Certificate But than I got [Mon Dec 27 12:09:33 2010] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `EServer' does NOT match server name!? • DNS hijack - prevention tips

  Hi there, Over the weekend it looks like the DNS was hijacked on two of my domains. My set up is I have the sites registered on 1and1.co.uk, with dns nameservers pointing to Hostgator in the US where the sites are hosted. I also had cloudflare CDN running on the sites (via hostgator cpanel). My question is any ideas as to how this happened, and how I could either monitor it so I know if it occurs again, or strengthen the set up/service to minimise the risk. History: I received a ping from my site monitoring service that the sites were down. When I checked the sites were up so I assumed it was local to the monitoring service I received a ping last night the sites were up When I checked, one site was redirecting to download-manual.com (and checking that URL now, the home page is not the same as the one I saw, so they too may have been hijacked/hacked) The other site URL remained the same but had one of those standard site search pages which bounce you off to either phishing or paid for search sites I notified Hostgator who told me Cloudflare or 1and1 were the issue. I removed cloudflare, and contacted both them and hostgator, and am awaiting a response, but am not holding my breath. Is this common? I've never heard of this or come across this before. It's pretty scary that this can happen so easily. Appreciate any input. **Update: I've now spoken to support at 1and1, Hostgator, and Cloudflare, and each one claims it has nothing to do with them, and must be one of the others. Larry, curly, moe.

• In between multiple tabs, how to use Vimperator to open a tab after current one

  If you're a Firefox user you know that if you have 10 tabs open and say you're in the tab #5. If you open a new tab which will become #11 in order and search something, after you finish and close this #11 tab Firefox will direct you the the last active tab you were in which is #5. Using Vimperator You won't get the similar effect. In the same scenario, while you're in tab #5 you can go t and search for something which will lead to opening a tab at #11. Now you press d and where you are now ? #10 and you need to ctrl+p all the way back to #5. So in this case I am looking for one of these solutions. to be able to open a tab straight after the current tab (which closing it will capital D will put me back to my active tab) a way to close a tab and being brought back to the last active tab that I worked on. Will appreciate it if somebody got a solution for this. thanks

• A mechanism to include site title in every page, but not in <title> element

  Each site can have a name. For example, site x. Each page also can have a name (or a title) that should appear in <title> tag in the header. However, many websites out there use the combination site name - page name to provide the value for <title> tag. I find it a little far from being semantic. On the other hand, if you only include page title in <title> tag, search engines won't find your site by its name. For example, if your site's name is Thought Results and you don't include it in page titles, then if you search for Thought Results, you won't find your site in SERPs. Thus I'm searching for a mechanism to both include site title (not page title) in every page, and also only include page title in <title> tag to get more semantic results. Is there any way to achieve this?

• Focus follows mouse stops working when opening window from launcher and no click to focus

  This is 12.04 default desktop (unity). I set it to focus follows mouse, and changed the menus to be on the window. This worked for a while, then some unknown even, maybe an upgrade maybe some other setting change caused it to stop working. There are many ways for this behavior to start but one reliable one is to bring a window to the foreground/focus with the launcher. Now the focus is stuck on that window and not just the window but the regions within the window so the close, maximize, minimize and menus do not work. I have to use mouse middle and then mouse right and then focus follows mouse is restored for a bit. The exact details of the mouse action aren't clear, sometimes it seems like just mouse middle helps, sometimes just right some times a desperate sequence of clicks :-( I have tried switching to the gnome desktop and it seems to occur less there but it is not eliminated. I have tried switching mice to an old wired USB mouse. I have tried creating a new account and that has not worked. I have observed "split focus" where to scroll button scrolls one one window but the input goes to another. I go trapped recently where my keyboard input went to libre office calc, but I was selecting the search term in the chrome address window. The selection "grayed" but the keyboard input for the search went to libre. Regions in windows have very confused focus. I have to work hard to get focus on for example the close gliph (X) or the minimize gliph (_).

  I have a Django website where some of the URLs need to be served over HTTPS and some over a normal connection. It's running on Apache and using WSGI. • Global vs. Local Monthly Searches in Adwords keyword tool

  I'm trying to learn how to use a keyword tool in Adwords. Here's what I entered: Country- Russia Language-Russian Desktop and laptop devices And the keyword was ???? ? ??????? (tours to Israel in Russian Cyrillic letters) . As a broad match type... Now... the results that I got were: Global monthly: 60,500 Local monthly: 40,500 If I got it right..."Global monthly" means in this context : worldwide average monthly searches for this search term in ANY language in any Google search site (google.ru, google.com.ua, google.com, google.fr etc.). It's all nice, BUT... Then I made an query for tours to Israel in English in the US...And I got: Global monthly: 60,500 Local monthly: 27,100 That doesn't make any sense to me though! How come the total sum (the global) is actually a smaller number than a combined sum of just TWO countries??? (27,100+40,500=67,60060,500) By "any language" they mean a translation of the term into ANY possible language???Or maybe by "language" Google means the language of searchers' operating system? or their browsers' language?
