  I played with spindown and APM settings of my Samsung discs and now they spin down every minute. I want to disable it, but it seems it does not accept any of the spindown time or APM values. Nothing works, it's all the same. Please help what values should be proper for it.   I'm trying to debug some keyboard combinations and shortcuts in iTerm2 and am looking for a program to read keyboard codes. Is there an app that I can run which will tell me the keyboard codes for the keys I'm pressing? The thing that is prompting this is I'm trying to replicate the control+a / control+e behavior in iTerm2 of moving the cursor to the start / end of the line - but using the arrow keys, but I can't seem to figure out the right keycodes to do this.

• Ubuntu - Ruby Daemon script creates two processes - sh and ruby - PID file points at sh, not ruby

  The PID file for a ruby process I have running as a daemon is getting the wrong PID. It appears that running /etc/init.d/sinatra start creates two processes - sh and ruby, and the PID that ends up in the PID file is that of the sh process. This means that when I then run /etc/init.d/sinatra stop or /etc/init.d/sinatra restart, it is killing sh and leaving the ruby process still running. I'd like to know a) why is my script launching two processes - sh and ruby, and not just ruby, and b) how do I fix it to just launch ruby? Details of the setup: I have a small Sinatra server set up on an ubuntu server, running as a daemon. It is set to automatically at server startup run a script named sinatra in /etc/init.d that launches the a control script control.rb, which then runs a ruby daemon command to start the server.   I've been searching for the reasons why IP multicast isn't widely supported on the Public Internet, and a commonly-cited reason is the difficulty ISPs have in tracking Multicast usage for later billing. Given this difficulty, since ISPs control the routers and they're not forced to support Multicast (as per IPv4), they just disable it. I couldn't find what this difficulty was though. Since an ISP has full control of any inbound and outbound traffic, be it Unicast or Multicast, what's the difficulty in tracking and billing the latter that does not exist in the former?
