  • NOT A DUPLICATE! VS2010 - How to automatically stop compile on first compile error

    {rant}First I'd like to say that this IS NOT A DUPLICATE. I've asked this question previously but it got closed as a duplicate when it isn't. This question is SPECIFIC to VS 2010 and the answers to the so-called duplicate work in VS 2008 but not in VS 2010 (at least not for me or anyone I know). So before you go closing something as a duplicate how about you read the question carefully and try the answer for yourself and see if it actually works. Apologies for the rant but there is no obvious way to contact the SO police that closed the issue or get it reopened. {/rant} At work we have a C# solution with over 80 projects. In VS 2008 we use a macro to stop the compile as soon as a project in the solution fails to build (see this question for several options for VS 2005 & VS 2008: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/134796/how-to-automatically-stop-visual-c-build-at-first-compile-error). Is it possible to do the same in VS 2010? What we have found is that in VS 2010 the macros don't work (at least I couldn't get them to work) as it appears that the environment events don't fire in VS 2010. The default behaviour is to continue as far as possible and display a list of errors in the error window. I'm happy for it to stop either as soon as an error is encountered (file-level) or as soon as a project fails to build (project-level). Answers for VS 2010 only please. If the macros do work then a detailed explanation of how to configure them for VS 2010 would be appreciated. Thanks.

    I have created demo app using Ionic with Worklight and it worked on Android but got error on IOS, when i used mobile browser simulator and debugged on IOS environment, i got the folowing error message: Uncaught InvalidCharacterError: Failed to execute 'add' on 'DOMTokenList': The token provided ('platform-ios - iphone') contains HTML space characters, which are not valid in tokens.   • TypeError when using v 0.8.1 of FLOT library, but no error with v. 0.7

    I need some help to figure out why I am getting an error when trying to create a simple graph using the jQuery FLOT library. When I reference version 0.7 of the FLOT library, the page renders correctly: http://attardpropertytax.ca/flot07.html But when I switch to version 0.8.1 of the FLOT library, the page returns an error saying: Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'left' of null http://attardpropertytax.ca/flot81.html The HTML is the same for both pages, so I cannot figure out why the new version 0.8.1 of FLOT returns an error, but the old version 0.7 does not. Any ideas? I somehow stumbled across a work-around that managed to fix my problem.     I need to install packages within non-internet connection environment. My plan is to download dist structure from Internet and then add file path to /etc/apt/sources.list.   • I need help solving a rather weird error in a WCF service.

    Hi.. I have a solution that contains three projects. A main project with my MVC app, a silverlight application and a (silverlight enabled) WCF service project. In my silverlight project i have made a Service Reference to my WCF service. And i pretty much got that working. In my WCF service i have a method that returns an Book object, which got some random fields like title, date etc. In the book class, i have a ICollection field that contains a list of events. The book class is generated using entity framework 4.0, and Lazy Loading is enabled. If i in my getBook(int id) method return a book with the events field not initialized, it works as a charm. But if i initialize the field, i'm getting this error. The server did not provide a meaningful reply; this might be caused by a contract mismatch, a premature session shutdown or an internal server error. I have a few ideas why that is happening, and while writing this i just got another one. The wcf service somehow threw away the reference to the event class. That would be very weird since i have a reference between my main mvc app (with the models) and my WCF service. Since i have enabled lazy loading in EF 4.0, i suspect that it may be the thing generating the error. But i'm not sure why that would be, because i'm not in any way accessing that field. I could understand that i may not be able to access the events field after i recive the object in my silverlight application since the connection between the book object and the entity framework is like broken. Did i mention that Lazy Loading is enabled on my EF instance? And there is no inner exception in the thrown exception. Thanks in advance. Malte Baden Hansen

  • Attempt to use a while loop for the 'next' arg of a for loop generates #arg error

    Am attempting to teach myself to program using Tcl. The task i've set myself to motivate my learning of Tcl is to solve the 8 queens problem. My approach to creating a program is to successively 'prototype' a solution. I have asked an earlier question related to the correctly laying out the nested for loops and received a helpful answer. To my dismay I find that the next development of my code creates the same interpreter error : "wrong # args" I have been careful to have an open brace at the end of the line preceding the while loop command. I've also tried to put the arguments of the whileloop in braces. This generates a different error. I have sincerely tried to understand the Tcl syntax man page - not too successfully - suggested by the answerer of my earlier question.   • Linking Error Building 64bit Qt app on 32bit XP machine.

    I'm trying to build a 64 bit version of my application (and yes I really do need the memory) on my 32bit xp dev box for production testing on our Vista64 server. Previously, I have built w/o any errors the Qt 4.6.2 DLL's in 64 bit mode. That step went vary smooth. Just to get started in building production, I'm trying to rebuild Qt's Star Delegate demo in 64bit mode. I converted the 32bit to 64bit app by changing the application configuration and adjusting the library's to the 64bit venisons. Now, when I go to link, I'm getting the following error when I link 1>------ Build started: Project: stardelegate, Configuration: Release x64 ------ 1>Linking... 1>MSVCRT.lib(crtexew.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol WinMain 1>release64\stardelegate.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 1 unresolved externals Suggestions? edit - After some more searching, discovered if I link as a console app it will work and run. But not as a windows app. And I don't have this problem in 32 bit mode.

  • IIS: 404 error on every file in a virtual directory.

    I am trying to write my first WCF service for IIS 6.0. I followed the instructions on MSDN. I created the virtual directory, I can browse the directory fine but anything I click (even a sub-folder in that folder) gives me a 404 error. What am I missing that I can not access any files or folders? Any logs or whatnot you need just tell me where to find them in the comments and I will post them. Default Web Extensions include: ASP, ASP.net, Server-Side Includes, WebDAV publishing, FrontPage Server Extensions, Common Gateway Interface (CGI). Custom extensions must be added and explicitly enabled. See the IIS 6.0 Help File for more information. I am guessing the 404 0 2 at the end of the log is a 404.2 error. I now know the why, I still don't know the how on how to fix it.

To start the http interface you need to add the 'set httpd ...' statement to theconfiguration. is that still correct? that post was from 2005

    We're using the default SMTP server for our websites to send mail with, but in the last day sending messages started getting this error: Insufficient system storage. The server response was: 4.3.1 Out of memory Further digging found this message in the System event log: SMTP server cannot create a file in the queue directory C:\Inetpub\mailroot\Queue\ I've since given the Everyone account full control of the mailroot folder but it's still happening. There's enough space on the server and to the best of my knowledge nothing on the server has been changed

    I'm trying to run a rather large query that is supposed to run nightly to populate a table. I'm getting an error saying Incorrect key file for table '/var/tmp/#sql_201e_0.MYI'; try to repair it but the storage engine I'm using (whatever the default is, I guess?) doesn't support repairing tables. how do I fix this so I can run the query? We are under pressure to get this table loaded for a client.
