    I need to display uploaded files on a web application, the flow is as follows User uploads file through web UI Validation on image Makes call to imageRepository.store( uploadedImage, user.getSite() ) The user wants the image displayed which adds <img src="${anUploadedImage.getUrl()}"/> but that is where I'm stuck, what can getUrl() do? The simple solution is to put it someplace and let Apache serve the file, but then I can't use the application to ensure that one user isn't modifying the URL to view other users files, which in this case is important

  • Arbitrary Form Processing with Drupal

    I am writing a module for my organization to cache XML feeds to static files to an arbitrary place on our webserver. I am new at Drupal development, and would like to know if I am approaching this the right way. Basically I: Expose a url via the menu hook, where a user can enter in a an output directory on the webserver and press the "dump" button and then have PHP go to drupal and get the feed xml. I don't need help with that functionality, because I actually have a prototype working in Python (outside of Drupal).. Provide a callback for the form where I can do my logic, using the form parameters.   • Customising Web-logics default 404 error page

    I am running weblogic 9. When I enter an incorrect URL below the application root I redirect 404 request to a customized error page. Eg. http://localhost:7001/myApp/non-existent redirects to my customised error page. Is there a way to do this for all incorrect URLs entered, not necessarily below the application root? Eg. http://localhost:7001/anything_non-existent should redirect to my customized error page, not the web-logic default one? Thanks

  • Double request from mod-rewrite

    I've written a module that sets Apache environment variables to be used by mod-rewrite. It hooks into ap_hook_post_read_request() and that works fine, but if mod-rewrite matches a RewriteRule then it makes a second call to my request handler with the rewritten URL. This looks like a new request to me in that the environment variables are no longer set and therefore I have to execute my (expensive) code twice for each hit. What am I doing wrong, or is there a work around for this? Thanks

    Im a little confused on the varying definitions and implementations of web services available as implementations. Need some clarification please. Ones I have used till now: If a vendor gives me a specific format of XML that I can send populated with data to request and I make a simple HTTP POST over the internet passing in the XML String as the payload, is this a web service call ? If so, is there a specific name to it, this kind of web service ? Because obviously, it does not use anything like Axis, WSDL or SOAP to establish this connection. A variant of this is If the vendor gives me an XSD, I use JAXB to make a java class out of it and pass in the serialized version of the object, which eventually works out to be the same as option 1. RESTful web service: Vendor gives me a URL like http://restfulservice/products and I can make HTTP Requests to the URL and depending on what HTTP verb I use, the appropropriate action is called and the response sent over the wire. Ones I have only read about\ have a vague idea about SOAP. How does this work?.. Ive read the W3Schools tutorial and I undertsand that there is a very specific form of XML that is standardized according to W3C standards that we use to pass the same kind of messages as we did in option 1. But how does this work in real life? Vendor sends me what? Do I generate classes? Do I serialize some objects and http post them over to an address? Or do the generated objects themselves have connection methods that will do them for me? What about WSDL? When does a vendor send me WSDL and what do I do with it ? I guess I can generate classes from it. If yes, then what do I do with the generated classes ? When do I need that axis jar to generate classes from something that the vendor sends ? As you can see, I have some clear and other mostly vague ideas about the different kinds of web services available. would help if someone ould clarify and\or point to more real-world resources. I've looked a little bit into Java Web Services on the internet and the numerous four letter acronyms that get thrown at me make me dizzy. Thanks

    I'm building a django app and I can't get the templates to see the CSS files... My settings.py file looks like: MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(__file__)), 'media') MEDIA_URL = '/media/' I've got the CSS files in /mysite/media/css/ and the template code contains: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/site_base.css" />` then, in the url.py file I have: # DEVELOPMENT ONLY (r'^media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': '/media'}), but the development server serves the plain html (without styles). What am I doing wrong?

    I am having trouble creating a different image to appear when you place your curser over the original image. EDIT: Okay great suggestions, however when I hover over the "home button" now the stuff in the float tweeks out.     Hi, I'm running through the Ruby on Rails tutorial at http://guides.rubyonrails.org/getting_started.html (adjusting where appropriate for Google's App Engine). All is well up till section 6.3: when I try to click "New Post", I get the following error: Internal Server Error (500) Request Method: GET Request URL: http://localhost:8080/500.html access denied (java.io.FilePermission /dev/urandom read) It works fine when I upload the application to Google's App Engine; it's just on my development machine (OS X 10.6) that it doesn't work. Now I'm wondering, how I can find out when someone has changed his/her profile picture on Facebook that I have to load the new image from the web instead of using the one cached disk. The url of the image is always the same. Is there a lightweight way of doing this without downloading the image and comparing it to the local file?

    jQuery 1.7.2 jQuery Validate 1.1.0 jQuery Form 3.18 Wordpress 3.4.2 I am trying to code a contact/ mail form in above environment/ with above jQuery libs. Now I am having a problem with the jQuery Form JS: I have taken the original code from the developers page for ajaxSubmit and only altered the target option to an ID which exists in my HTML source and replaced $ with jQuery in function showRequest. The problem is, that the function namend after success: does not fire. I tried the same with error: and again nothing fired.   • dijit/form/Select broken in Internet Explorer using Esri Javascript 3.7

    After developing a web map app in Firefox, I tested my code in Internet Explorer (company standard) to discover that the dijit/form/Select is misbehaving using the latest Esri JavaScript v3.7. The issue I am seeing is that the Select will not update/change from the first option in the list when using v3.7. If I bump the version down to 3.6, it works as expected. I've tried IE browser modes from 7 to 10 and am experiencing the same behavior between all of them. Can someone confirm they are experiencing the same thing?
