• Squid 2.7.STABLE3-4.1 as a transparent proxy on Ubuntu Server 9.04

  Can't get this to work at all! I'm trying to get this linux box to act as a transparent proxy and, with the help of DHCP, force everyone on the network to gate into the proxy. I have two ethernet connections, both to the same switch. And I'm trying to get 192.168.1.234 to become the default gateway. The actual WAN connection is to a gateway 192.168.1.1. eth0 is 192.168.1.234 eth1 is 192.168.1.2 Effectively I'm trying to make eth0 a LAN only interface and eth1 a WAN interface. I've oi should set the gateway for eth1 to point to 192.168.1.234 my squid.conf file has the following directives added at the bottom: nly set eth0 to have a gateway address in /etc/network/interfaces I'm not sure whether http_port 3128 transparent acl lan src 192.168.1.0/24 acl lh src 127.0.0.1/255.255.255.0 http_access allow lan http_access allow lh i've added the following routing commands: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j DNAT --to-destination 192.168.1.2:3128 iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth1 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 3128 I set a computer with TCP settings 192.168.1.234 as the gateway and opened up google.com, but it comes up with a request error. • Why does this call to jQuery's $.ajax() fire an empty request in Chrome and Firefox?

  Hello, I am trying to call a WCF RESTful service from jQuery. I am using JSON to encode both request and response.   I'm setting up a net.tcp WCF service using instructions here: http://blogs.msdn.com/swiss_dpe_team/archive/2008/02/08/iis-7-support-for-non-http-protocols.aspx One of the steps says to do the following: "If you open the IIS7 management console and you look at the advance setting of our IIS7HostedService Web Application, you will see that in the Enabled Protocols section just http is defined. You now have to add net.tcp (separated by a comma), so that our service will be able to respond also to TCP requests." This is fine, but what if I want to use the Cassini / VS2010 ASP.NET development server to debug (hitting F5 or cntrl-F5)? I don't think there's a way to change the settings in that IIS. Or is there? Are other programmers just so awesome that they don't need to go through the debugger? Or do they use wsHttpBinding?

  Background I am developing an application (with Spring MVC) with its base path as: http://localhost:8080/myapplication/ I have a stylesheet /css/style.css that I am trying to refer with absolute path in a JSP as: <link rel="stylesheet" href="/css/style.css" type="text/css" media="screen, projection"> Problem The stylesheet never loads in the browser. When I follow the stylesheet link through browser's view source feature, the link appears to be: http://localhost:8080/css/style.css Which should have had been: http://localhost:8080/myapplication/css/style.css I used to fix this issue with html:rewrite tag while working with Struts. Is there any equivalent tag/technique in Spring MVC? Thanks for your time.

  Hi, Background - I can get HttpListener working fine for HTTP traffic. I'm having trouble with HTTPS traffic however. QUESTION: How can I change the code below so that a browser request to a "https" URL will actually be picked up by my HttpListener? Notes - At the moment with firefox's proxy settings set to "localhost:8080", when I listen to traffic on port 8080 ("https://*:8080/"), and I enter a HTTPS url in firefox, I am getting no traffic being picked up?   I'm running an application server behind an Apache proxy with the following sort of thing in my Apache config: ProxyPass /app http://myapplication:8080/myapp ProxyPassReverse /app http://myapplication:8080/myapp When I switch on NTLM authentication (using mod_ntlm) the authentication fails (it works fine when bypassing the proxy). A quick search reveals lots of issues when running NTLM behind a proxy due to the connection-specific NTLM specification. Does anyone have a working Apache configuration that allows NTLM authentication through a proxy? Thanks for any help.

This is a temporary thing, as we need to have both servers running as we transition our applications from running on 6.0 to 7.0. The webserver is IBMIHS (an Apache variant), and it needs to use the WebSphere plugin to connect to the WAS servers. Will this work? Any drawbacks?

  I want to setup a test database on a vm for development purposes but I cannot connect to the server via the network. I've got Ubuntu 12.04vm installed on 12.04 host in Virtualbox 4.2.4 set to - Bridged network mode - Promiscuous Allow All When I try to ping the virtual guest from any network client I get the expected result.   Hi, I'm generating proxy using svcutil tool. My contract methods return objects of particular type. However generated proxy client interface has return value of type object. What is more I get exception with message: System.ServiceModel.FaultException`1[System.ServiceModel.ExceptionDetail] : The formatter threw an exception while trying to deserialize the message: There was an error while trying to deserialize parameter http://tempuri.org/:name. The InnerException message was 'XML 'Element' 'http://tempuri.org/:name' does not contain expected attribute 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/2003/10/Serialization/:Type'. The deserializer has no knowledge of which type to deserialize. Check that the type being serialized has the same contract as the type being deserialized.'. Please see InnerException for more details. Any ideas what's going on?

• tproxy squid bridge very slow when cache is full

  I have installed a bridge tproxy proxy in a fast server with 8GB ram. The traffic is around 60Mb/s. When I start for first time the proxy (with the cache empty) the proxy works very well but when the cache becomes full (few hours later) the bridge goes very slow, the traffic goes below 10Mb/s and the proxy server becomes unusable. Any hints of what may be happening?   Trying to get these two vhosts set up correctly. I have two sites on this domain that i'm hosting: www.example.com/example.com and test.example.com. How do I get both of these to work in my vhost definitions? I have: $HTTP["host"] == "test.example.com" { and $HTTP["host"] =~ "(^|.)example.com$" { (I think this is for *.example.com) It always goes to the second one, even if I am trying to go to test.example.com. I need to be able to host www.example.com/example.com and test.example.com

  jQuery Tools is a stand-alone library that offers a flashembed() function; it does not require jQuery. F5 is capable of persisting a session based on a response header value: when HTTP_RESPONSE { set session [HTTP::header X-Session] if {$session ne ""} { persist add uie $session } } and then route all subsequent requests which contain the same session ID in a header, query parameter, path, etc. to the same machine, eg: when HTTP_REQUEST { set session [findstr [HTTP::path] "/session/" 9 / if {$session} { persist uie $session } } I'm wondering if this is even possible to do with HAProxy?

  I am attempting to resolve timestamped SNAPSHOT dependencies with Ivy. The environment is Ant + Ivy 1.2.0 + Archiva. Archiva itself is populated from Maven2 builds. Ivy is only used to resolve dependencies (from a single, non Maven2 project). How can Ivy be configured to correctly resolve timestamped artifacts from an Archiva or m2 repository?
