    I have installed 64 bits RHEL. I have following questions regarding ant.jar for the system. I was not able to find ant.jar build with 64 bit JVM from the apache website. Do I have to build it form the source code, if I intend to run the jar on 64 bit JVM? Would it speed up the build process if I use ant.jar build with 64 bit JVM and run it on 64 bit JVM?

How do I cope with this in my development environment so that the MSI setup file, which I will compile, will work correctly when deployed? p.s. the folder is NOT located in a subdirectory of the application project

    I am looking at writing a .net application that uses the Google AJAX Search API to determine where our website falls for a given term compared to a competitor. I can find alot about the old SOAP API however for the new AJAX api I cannot find any information on the following: Is this sort of use allowed as the Terms of use are vague Is there a limit to the number of requests per day As you can only get a max of 8 results at a time, is the only way to get the top 100 results to keep requesting the next set and is this an issue?     I'm trying to give my mobile users the choice to view the full website by loading a different page. Thing is, jQtouch thoughtfully transforms links into ajax calls, so the user doesn't leave the page at all. Is there some way to break out of jQt or exclude certain links from loading ajaxically?

  • Is switching to PHP 5.3 a good idea?

    I'm using PHP 5.2.11. I've seen that 5.3 version has several backward incompatibility issues and because of that some code might require changes. Since my website is hosted on shared server, many have suggested that those server won't upgrade to 5.3 in near future (probably due to incompatibility issues for many shared users). Would it be wise to develop a new project in 5.3 which would be hosted on shared server?

    I need to configure a SMTP server for testing my website which sends emails (for registration confirmation etc). I dont actually want the email to be sent, I just want to make sure that my code is correct. So I want to be able to check that the email is placed in a queue folder for example.   • Dealing with development and large javascript files?

    When dealing with websites with large amount of javascript, i see that these are still usually served to the client as one large javascript file. In the development phase, are the javascript files usually split up (say there are 300 lines of js) to make things abit more manageable, and then merged when the website is 'put live'? Or do the developers just put up with working in one long large file?

    Whenever I come across a cute website, I am always curious to know which web framework was used by its developers? Being a novice in web development, a look at the page source doesn't give any clue. Any way(s) to get this information? If possible, may be with a bit of Ruby magic, I can figure out things like: which is the most/least used framework for my favorite sites, audio/video heavy sites, etc.

So I could probably come with something from scratch, but it would probably won't work in "all" browsers.
