  I tried posting on their boards (authors of this library), however it literally takes months for them to reply when it comes to the free software (can't blame them). But anyways I have found that this library is behaving weirdly - for instance, a major problem with my application is when someone is trying to sign in (through FTP), they provide a correct login and mistype the password, no reply is received from FTP server. I tried doing the same from command window just to verify that it's not the FTP server's fault; and FTP commands were received instantaneously. It almost looks as though this library eats the commands. The same actions often times will yield different results. Can anyone recommend a stable, reliable library to use with Compact framework? Or shed some light on this issue...?

• WPF - How to style the menu control to remove the left margin?

  I have added a default menu control into my user control. It is being combined with some other controls as part of a custom Window chrome. I need to style the menu to make it appear simpler. The main thing I need to do is to remove the left margin containing the space for the icon or checkbox. How can I do this? • Changing the onClick area when adding an event

  Is there anyway to change what a user clicks on to add an event? Right now the entire day is clickable. This becomes an issue when the user needs to put focus back on that window, requiring a mouse click. If they click on the calendar, which takes up most of the page, then they launch the "Add Event" function. Is there a way to have a Plus sign (+), or whatever symbol in each day that when clicked, launches the "Add Event" function? Or... Is there a way to have a button across the top that said, "Add Event"?

• How do I fix SVC-FILWRT on Windows?

  I have to do some processing (enhancing metadata) on the XML document that are on my Marklogic database. For that I have created a new HTTP server that is pointing towards the database. Using that HTTP server, I write a XQuey that loop through all the XML documents in Marklogic database and send these XML documents to particular URL that reads the content from that document, append some metadata and then store back to ML. This is something I have tried on Linux platform with same version of Marklogic and it works great for me. But now, when I am trying the same on window platform (Windows 7 Enterprise addition) and it's not working. Approaches I tried to resolve that: Running Marklogic Server as "Run as Administrator". Putting HTTP server's Base directory into D:/ directory i.e. directory that does not have windows installed within it. Above same with putting forest to D:/ directory. • Catch and Show an error from a WCF service call in javascript.

  Hello, I'm calling a WCF service through javascript and right now it's not showing any errors that might occur on the service side to the user. I have the code below and am looking for a better way to inform the user an error has occured, including the call stack and error message if possible. The service itself throws a FaultException if an error has occured. However, I want to catch that error in the javascript call and show it to the user. • VS 2010: Can't insert snippet using shortcut - incompatibility with resharper 5???

  Hi there, i recently installed some snippets that come with a framework i am using. And sure enought i checked via Tools > Code Snippet Manager and they are installed under "My Code Snippets". If i do insert Snipper (right click in code window) or CTRL K + CTRL X then i can search within all available snippets.... But i do believe its possible to just type the shortcut key (in this case it is mvvmlocatorproperty) and pressing tab inserts the snippet BUT when i type the shortcut key it is not recognizing anything... What am i doing wrong?? This is not an incompatibility with resharper 5? - which i have installed Any ideas really appreciated

Is there anyway to prevent this multiple instance ?   I have a big problem. I've made a simple Google Chrome plugin (based on the old Youtube Video Downloader) but I have some problems with it. The first problem is that it won't pop up a new save window on click, but opens a new page with the video in the default Chrome player. The second is, that when the user clicks right click-save, they won't get the video name but a standardized name. Is there any way to make a file save dialog with a specified file save name?

  I'm trying to use a GridView to display a list of components in ASP.NET. I'm trying to make it editable at the same time. One of the columns is a string that should be selected out of a list when the user edits the row. So I've tried the following: Convert the BoundField row to an ItemTemplate Add a dropbox to the template window in the gridview bound the selecteditem to the string At this point, I get an error because the list items haven't been set up in the dropbox. So I guess the two things I'm wondering are: How do I assign the items in the dropbox to a dynamically created list of options? How do I make the dropbox only appear when the row is being edited?

  Hi, Im currently building a new discount-webpage and Im looking for a solution to be able to hover over a discount button to reveal a small text without clicking. And after clicking on the button that the text in the flash button is copied into the clipboard and a new page open with a small frame from my window with the new page underneith. examples of this kind of script can be viewed on this page: http://www.retailmenot.com/ on the yellow boxes with the discount text. Im not looking for a free script or for someone to do this for me. All I want to know if there is another language to do this with like possibly java? and maybe some links to tutorials. • Implementation of APIs on diferent platforms

  OK, this is basicly just about any non-default OS API running on all different OS. But for my example let´s consider platform Windows, API SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer). Actually this question came to my mind when I was reading about SDL. Originally, I thought that on Windows (and basicly any other OS) you must use OS API to make certain actions, like wrtiting to screen, creating window and so on, becouse that API knows what kernel calls and system subroutines calls it has to do. But when I read about SDL, I surprised me, becouse, you cannot make computer to do anything more than OS can, since you cannot acess HW directly, only thru OS API, from Console allocation to DirectX. So, my question actually is, how does this not-default-OS APIs work? Do they use (wrap) original system API (like MFC wraps win32 api)? Or, do they actually have direct acess to Windows kernel? Or is there any third, way in between? Thanks.

  I think I've found the cause: Document Info window in IB has a warning: "'Selected Navigation Controller (Second)' has nib name property set to 'SecondView.nib', but this view controller is not intended to have its view set in this manner." Bummer. I've built nib in Interface Builder that has UITabBarController at top level and switches between UINavigationControllers. It works fine when everything is in a single nib file, but I'd like to use separate nib files for UINavigationControllers. Starting with Apple's TabBar template, if I just change class of SecondView to UINavigationController, it all breaks: and all I get is this: Is it possible to have separate file for UINavigationController without programmatically setting everything? I would like TabBarController to handle loading and unloading of nibs.

• How can I create a simple message box in Python?

  I'm looking for the same effect as alert() in JavaScript. I wrote a simple web-based interpreter this afternoon using Twisted.web. You basically submit a block of Python code through a form, and the client comes and grabs it and executes it. I want to be able to make a simple popup message, without having to re-write a whole bunch of boilerplate wxPython or TkInter code every time (since the code gets submitted through a form and then disappears). I've tried tkMessageBox: import tkMessageBox tkMessageBox.showinfo(title="Greetings", message="Hello World!") but this opens another window in the background with a tk icon. I don't want this. I was looking for some simple wxPython code but it always required setting up a class and entering an app loop etc. Is there no simple, catch-free way of making a message box in Python?

• Strange CSS Positioning issue with a fader on a responsive site

  I'm developing a prototype responsive wordpress theme version of my homepage. I'm running into issues with the fader on the homepage. http://dev.epicwebdesign.ca/epicblog/ When the image switches, it uses position:absolute to overlay the pictures, then goes back to position:relative. I need to make the absolute be relative to the bottom left corner of the menu instead of the top left corner of #wrap so it doesn't overlap. I tried putting it in a container div like this: http://wiki.orbeon.com/forms/doc/contributor-guide/browser#TOC-Absolutely-positioned-box-inside-a-box-with-overflow:-auto-or-hidden but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? There are major CSS compatibility issues in IE, try it in chrome. It should look similar to http://epicwebdesign.ca. When the browser window is shrunk horizontially, the whole theme compensates.

I have a WPF application, in each of my usercontrols / windows I am currently putting the following code in xaml in the header... xmlns:properties="clr-namespace:MaxCut2.Properties" This particular properties namespace I use in every window / usercontrol in my project and I would have thought that if I had put the code in my App.xaml, it would have been exposed to all the child windows/uc's - but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way that I can expose this without having to declare it in every file in XAML?

• What's the best way to capture output from SQL Management Studio and paste it into an Outlook email?

  I'm constantly executing ad-hoc queries in SQL Management Studio and need to send the results to people via email. This happens several times a day so I'm looking for the best way to copy the results of the query from the results window into an Outlook email body so that it can be formatted in a reader friendly manner. I haven't come up with anything that works well for me. When it really matters, I end up going into Excel, executing the query from within there and then attaching the resulting spreadsheet. I'm looking for something that I can do without involving Excel if possible. Any ideas?

  I'm getting this message multiple times when I try to run my game: The referenced script on this Behaviour is missing For some reason, all my prefabs are missing a script that dictates something called their 'Mono Behaviour': What is the Mono Behaviour component, and what does it do? How can I fix this error? I can click the little target circle to bring up all my scripts, but that just gives me all of the scripts that I've written: So I don't really know how to replace my missing Mono Behaviour script... Maybe if I knew what it was I could have a clue how to fix it. I probably moved something. But how can I select the Mono Behaviour script (whatever it is) if the target just shows me my scripts? Update I've moved some assets in the project window, but not via the OS (Finder/Explorer) so why is this happening? Also I am told that Mono Behaviour is a script I've applied... Don't really get this...isn't the script component a reference to a script?

• Nested svn repositories

  I got a "Project A" in repository. But in that project I'm using a library, which is hosted on Google Code. There is my question: is there any way, to have that library files "hooked" to Google Code SVN, and simultaneously my project in my repo (it's parent to that library), so I can commit library files into my repository when I decide, that outer project revision is ok? I've tried to do checkout in the library folder, files were downloaded from Google's Code repository. But I that case wasn't able to add them to my repository - they weren't visible in "Add" window.

• Simple javascript document.write isn't working...

  Here's the code in question I'm trying to create a simple application - each of the three men has a rel="x" attribute attached them. I'm using var regionId = $('img.selected-region').attr('rel'); to make the rel of the currently selected item the value of reginId. I want to test this out by performing a simple document.write(regionId) command in a div under the pictures of the men. However, it's not working. Have I put the var regionId definition in the right place in the script window? I'm completely new to javascript so the syntax is confusing to me - and help would be greatly appreciated.

• Closing any open info windows in google maps api v3

  As the title states, on a given event (for me this happens to be upon opening a new google.maps.InfoWindow I want to be able to close any other currently open info windows. Right now, I can open many at a time..but I want only 1 open at a time. I am creating the info windows dynamically (i.e. I don't know ahead of time how many will be generated), so in the click event of the current info window (which is where I want all the other open ones closed) I don't have a reference to any of the other open info windows on which to call close(). I am wondering how I can achieve this. I am not an experienced JavaScript programmer so I don't know if I need to use reflection or something similar here. Would the best way be just to save all the references in some sort of collection, then loop through the list closing them all? Thanks.
