• jQuery input mask length

  Hey all, I have an input field and I want to limit it to alphanumerical (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) characters only, with a MINIMUM field length of 5, and a maximum length of up to 15 characters total. Does anyone know how I can do this using jQuery? I'm trying to use the jQuery input mask by digitalBush - http://digitalbush.com/projects/masked-input-plugin/ The problem is that UNLESS I enter 15 characters, the field goes blank. If I enter "012345678912345" (15 characters) in the input field then the value is stored and it's fine. But if I enter "12345" as a username, when that input box loses focus its value goes back to being blank. Is there something that I can change in the "definitions" or options somewhere that fixes this? Many thanks for your help :) Tim

• Constructing a hash table/hash function.

  Hi, I would like to construct a hash table that looks up keys in sequences (strings) of bytes ranging from 1 to 15 bytes. I would like to store an integer value, so I imagine an array for hashing would suffice. I'm having difficulty conceptualizing how to construct a hash function such that given the key would give an index into the array. Any assistance would be much appreiated. The maximum number of entries in the hash is: 4081*15 + 4081*14 + ... 4081 = 4081((15*(16))/2) = 489720. So for example: int table[489720]; int lookup(unsigned char *key) { int index = hash(key); return table[index]; } How can I compute hash(key). I'd preferably like to get a perfect hash function.   I have a small contest problem in which is given a set of points, in 2D, that form a triangle. This triangle may be subject to an arbitrary rotation, may be subject to an arbitrary translation (both in the 2D plane) and may be subject to a reflection on a mirror, but its dimensions were kept unchanged. Then, they give me a set of points in the plane, and I have to find 3 points that form my triangle after one or more of those geometric operations. Example: 5 15 8 5 20 10 6 5 17 5 20 20 5 10 5 15 20 15 10 I bet that have to apply some known algorithm, but I don't know which. The most common are: convex hull, sweep plane, triangulation, etc. Can someone give a tip? I don't need the code, only a push, please!

• How do I use logback-access in combination with Tomcat 5.5?

  I've got several Web apps running on a Tomcat 5.5 server, and I'm working on improving/updating the overall logging system used throughout the system. I already had some success with logback-classic. However, when I try to use logback-access (i.e. access the lbAccessStatus servlet), I get this exception: exception javax.servlet.ServletException: Wrapper cannot find servlet class ch.qos.logback.access.ViewStatusMessagesServlet or a class it depends on org.apache.catalina.authenticator.AuthenticatorBase.invoke(AuthenticatorBase.java:433) ... root cause java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ch.qos.logback.access.ViewStatusMessagesServlet org.apache.catalina.loader.WebappClassLoader.loadClass(WebappClassLoader.java:1386) ... I have everything set up according to the docs: common/lib: logback-classic-0.9.15.jar logback-core-0.9.15.jar server/lib: logback-access-0.9.15.jar Moving around the libraries doesn't seem to help. logback-classic seems to work fine, it's just logback-access that causes problems.

  I'm having a problem where items served by my Squid server are being cached by Limelight for too long, sometimes days. It happens when a piece of content has been static for a long time (weeks) and then undergoes numerous changes in a matter of hours. Limelight gets its content from our Squid server and I'm told that if I can add 'Expires: 15m' in the HTTP header the Squid server sends, Limelight will not cache the image for more than 15 min. Unfortunately, I can fond no setting in Squid that will allow me to add this to the header. Note, if you just do apply(foo, 1, function(x) list(c(x[1], x[2]))), it returns a list within a list, which I'm hoping to avoid.

  I feel suddenly uneasy of not being able to perform this operation easily. It could be that I'm tired, or that there's really no way (google didn't help), but... if you have a list in python, and want to extract element at indices say 1, 2 and 5 into a new list, how do you do ? • Problem with Hyperic monitoring on CloudFoundry - frequent alerts

  Hi, I'm running single instance CloudFoundry configuration with one web application. I turned on Hyperic monitoring with notification for case of web app unavailability. Now I randomly receive alert emails (Subject "An alert has been triggered - Deployment myapp - context unavailable") that the application is not running, but it obviously is running fine. In access log of Apache I see two requests every 15 seconds: 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /server-status?auto HTTP/1.1" 200 438 "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" 127.0.0.1 - - [17/Mar/2010:15:37:33 +0100] "GET /myapp HTTP/1.1" 200 - "-" "Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.1" At the time when I get the alert emails, everything in log still seems to be fine - two requests. Do you have idea what could be wrong? Did anybody have this kind of problem and solve it? Thanks, P

• How can i get this ASP.NET MVC SelectList to work?

  Hi folks, I create a selectList in my controller, to display in the view. I'm trying to create it on the fly, sorta thing .. like this... myViewData.PageOptionsDropDown = new SelectList(new [] {"10", "15", "25", "50", "100", "1000"}, "15"); It compiles, but the output is bad... <select id="PageOptionsDropDown" name="PageOptionsDropDown"> <option>10</option> <option>15</option> <option>25</option> <option>50</option> <option>100</option> <option>1000</option> </select> Notice how no item is selected? • PHP set timeout for script, set_time_limit not working

  I have a command-line PHP script that runs a wget request using each member of an array with foreach. This wget request can sometimes take a long time so I want to be able to set a timeout for killing the script if it goes past 15 seconds for example. I have PHP safemode disabled and tried set_time_limit(15) early in the script, however it continues indefinitely. I've given up troubleshooting set_time_limit() and was trying to find other ways to kill the script after 15 seconds of execution. However, I'm not sure if it's possible to check the time a script has been running while it's in the middle of a wget request at the same time (a do while loop did not work). Thanks for any tips!

• Jagged Edge Arrays in PHP

  I want to store some data in (I guess a semi-2, semi-3d array) in PHP (5.3) What I need to do is store data about each floor like this: Floor Num of Spots Handicap Motorcyle Other 1 100 array(15,16,17) array (47,62) array (99,100) 2 100 array(15,16,17) array (47,62) array (99,100) and on The problem is, is if the Handicap+Motorcyle+Other were ints, I could just store the data in a 2d array. However, they aren't. So I was thinking I could make something almost like a 3D array, with the first two columns only being in 2D. The other thought I had was making a 2D array and for columns 3,4, and 5 instead of saving as array(15,16) //save like 1516 And then split at two digits (1 digit array numbers would be prefaced with a 0). However, I am wondering about the limit of the length of a string, because if I decide to move to a 3 digit length number in the array, like array(100, 104), and I need to store alot of numbers, I am thinking I am going to quickly exceed the max.

• Texture allocations being doubled in iPhone OpenGL ES

  The below couple lines are called 15 times during initialization. The tx-size is reported at 512 everytime, so this will allocate a 1mb image in memory 15 times, for a total of 15mb used.. However, I noticed instruments is reporting a total of 31 allocations! (15*2)+1 glTexImage2D(GL_TEXTURE_2D, 0, GL_RGBA, tx-size, tx-size, 0, GL_RGBA, GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE, spriteData); free(spriteData); Likewise in another area of my program that allocates 6 256x256x4 (256kB) textures.. I see 13 sitting there. (6*2)+1 Anyone know what's going on here? It seems like awful memory management, and I really hope it's my fault. Just to let everyone know, I'm on the simulator.

  I am developing a plugin (for a Bittorrent client named Azureus programmed in Java) that lets me add peers into the current list from which it is downloading. • windows server 2008 r2 - can't get apache to run on port 80

  I have a rackspace cloud server running windows server 2008 r2. I've uninstalled IIS because I want to install Apache. I've installed Apache but it fails everytime i try to run it when i listen to port 80. I've run the command netstat -aon|finderstr "80" and i see the following: C:\Users\Administratornetstat -aon|findstr "80" TCP 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 TCP 10.180.15.249:139 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 4 TCP [::]:80 [::]:0 LISTENING 4 UDP 10.180.15.249:137 : 4 UDP 10.180.15.249:138 : 4 So what are these things running on port 80 and why can't i get apache to start? Is there an alternative port for to run apache under that will work just as well as 80?

• Passing get values mangles my urls

  Just upgraded from 1.3 to 2.0.3 and I'm trying to migrate all the changes. I'm noticing that the following line echo $this->Html->link('Quote', array('controller'=>'crm_quotes', 'action'=>'index', $lead['id'].'/'.$crmContact['CrmContact']['id']), null); builds the url "/crm_quotes/index/15/21". When I click the link I'm taken to url: "/crm_quotes/index/15%2F212 so it's replacing the characters with the html # but it's ultimately breaking the link. When I manually edit the URL to the correct one: "/crm_quotes/index/15/21" the page loads. Can someone enlighten me? Should I be using the url function rather than link? I have a lot of pages that need multiple parameters passed in the url. I was using named parameters but after reading some comments by Mark Story I decided to stop the named parameters as he hinted at their possible removal from future versions.

• Selecting items from events, as evenly spaced as possible

  If I have an event that happens 15 times a second (numbered 1 - 15), but I only want to process it 3 times I can choose [1], [6] and [11],. It's important that the events I process are as evenly spaced as possible and take into account wrap-around, i.e. the events are continuous 13, 14, 15, 1, 2, 3 etc. If I want 4 items the best I can do is [1], [5], [9] & [13]. Is there a general algorithm that will calculate which events I need to process given the total number of events (total) and the number to process (processAmount).
