  • Retrieve binary data from S3 storage through AWS.NET in C#

    I've tested most of the included samples in the AWS SDK for .NET and they all works fine. I can PUT objects, LIST objects and DELETE objects in a bucket, but... lets say I delete the original and want to sync those files missing locally? I would like to make a GET object (by key/name and bucket ofcause). I can find the object, but how do I read the binary data from S3 through the API? Do I have to write my own SOAP wrapper for this or is there some kinda sample for this out "here" ? :o) In hope of a sample. It does not have to tollerate execeptions etc. I just need to see the main parts that connects, retreives and stores the file back on my ASP.net or C# project. Anyone???

    Hi, I have maven project that fails when release:perform is called, though release;prepare works as expected. From reading the bug report the possible cause of the error is related to my modules' structure, I've tried to outline it below: /workspace | |+ pom.xml (root pom whose parent is the build pom, | calling release:perform on this pom) | [Modules: moduleA and moduleB] | |- moduleA |+ pom.xml (parent is also build pom) |+ build/pom.xml (the build pom - no custom parent) |- moduleB |+ pom.xml (parent is build pom) It seems that the root pom should be in some common directory inside 'workspace' from the error but tried that and doesn't work, nor make sense as to why I need it. What does the warning Base directory is a file want me to do instead?! It then figures that the base directory is workspace which then means the working directory is not found...any ideas?     I currently have a site where the data is hosted on Firebase and the static files are hosted on AWS (I registered my domain using NameCheap, but am routing to AWS using Route 53 and S3). I now want to use SendGrid to send emails, but they are saying that I need to set up an SMTP server. I can't find anywhere what the best way to do this is. Can I get suggestions please on the best solution? I want to use SendGrid to send transactional email such as "Welcome to the site!", "Forgot Password", etc.

  • Android Plugin in Eclipse 3.5 on Ubuntu 64bit got problems with properties

    Hi there! I got a huge problem with the Android Development Tools ADT running in Eclipse Galileo (3.5.1) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit. On this platform, I do not manage to see any property edit dialogs for layout properties. E.g. the one where you can select a string resource ID for text fields, or a drawable ID for image fields or backgrounds. Whenever I click on the ... button next to the property value - nothing happens, except this button disappears. Properties with a list of possible values, e.g. "wrap_content" or "fill_parent" are displayed in a dropdown box directly in the properties field. On a different system I work in a Windows environment with Eclipse 3.4 and the same ADT: no problems whatsoever, everything works fine, the dialogs come perfectly. Does anyone know what to do here? Where's the problem? Why does Eclipse not tell me that something goes wrong? Thanks! NEW DISCOVERIES: I found out that it might not even be an Android problem, but a general Eclipse problem that I can see with all version (Ganymede, Galileo, Helios) on my Linux (Ubuntu) system. It must be a simple UI problem: the button with ... next to the values does not receive the mouse click!! I managed to see the appropriate dialogs to edit the property values by doubleclicking the button - crazy, strange, ugly behavior! But why on earth does nobody else know about this problem - I cannot find anything else on the net about it! Could it be related to this strange "GDK native window problem" on Gnome? HELP!

  • As an experiment I want to work a bit with AWS. How much might I expect to pay?

I've been trying to figure out what some minimum charge examples might look like? I'll have a lamp server with Django and a requisite amount of storage but next to no traffic,,Any one have some guidance/advice? My Google searches and look here did not turn up much useful info?

    I am worried about my account expiry date. I created an account on AWS in July 2013 and submitted my credit card details on 31st Oct 2013. I went in Billing Management Console/Bills section where when I click on Date, I can see months ranging from July 2013 to Nov 2013. From AWS FAQs I gathered When does the AWS free usage tier expire? The AWS free usage tier will expire 12 months from the date you sign up. So WHEN will my account expire, July 2014 (sign up date) or Oct 2014 (credit card details submission date) ?

    I am trying upload images and than create an thumbnail of it and than store both in S3. After the file has been uploaded i am first uploading it to S3 and than trying to create thumbnail but it doesn't work as than PIL is not able to recognise the image. And secondly if I create the thumbnail first than while uploading original image I get EOF. I think Django allows just once for the uploaded files to be used only once....Please kindly tell me a way to do so....Thanks in advance

  • Using IAM for user authentication

    I've read lots and lots of posts that touch on what I think should be a very common use case - but without finding exactly what I want, or a simple reason why it can't be done. I have some files on S3. I want to be able to grant certain users access to certain files, via a front end that I build. So far, I've made it work this way: I built the front end in Django, using it's built-in Users and Groups I have a model for Buckets, in which I mirror my S3 buckets. I have a m2m relationship from groups to buckets representing the S3 permissions. The user logs in and authenticates against Django's users. I grab from Django the list of buckets that the user is allowed to see I use boto to grab a list of links to files from those buckets and display to user. This works, but isn't ideal, and also just doesn't feel right. I've got to keep a mirror of the buckets, and I also have to maintain my own list of user/passwords and permissions, when AWS already has all that built in. What I really want is to simply create the users in IAM and use group permissions in IAM to control access to the S3 buckets. No duplication of data or function. My app would request a UN/PW from the user and use that to connect to IAM/S3 to pull the list of buckets and files, then display links to the user. Simple. How can I, or why can't I? Am I looking at this the wrong way? What's the "right" way to address this (I assume) very common use case?

  • Using Maven to Deploy to Weblogic Clusters

    org.codehaus.mojo weblogic-maven-plugin 2.9.1 We're currently using the weblogic maven plugin successfully to deploy to our local WebLogic 9.2 instances. When we try to deploy to a remote environment we have a problem. We use a two machine cluster, with the admin server and managed server on one machine, and another managed server on a seperate machine. When your plugin uploads the application to the admin server, it doesn't copy it to the second managed server on the seperate machine. This then causes the second managed server a problem, as it cannot find the application in the location where the admin server saved it on its own machine. Not looking great at the moment, but will fix styling later.
