  • Checking validation errors in XMLHttpRequest

    - by egaga
$.post(actionUrl, serializedForm, function(response) { ... } I need to check whether validation of form succeeded, or not (I don't need to know the exact validation errors). The validation is done by Spring, and I wouldn't like to interfere the process, because there's some annoying dependencies. What would be the best approach? Is there a Spring error object in response, or is it accessible only in server side? I would also like to know if there's is any proper documentation about response in jQuery site? How can I traverse or manipulate it?

  • Trigger Event after values have been commited for validation purposes

    - by www.jefferyfernandez.id.au
I have a Flex component with a form and on creationComplete, I load some data onto the form textInputs. After the Form TextInputs have got their values, I want to trigger an event so the Parent of the component can validate the values on the TextInputs and based on the validation results, I perform some enable/disable of other interfaces. I have the following dispatch code: this.dispatchEvent(new PersonalDetailsEvent(PersonalDetailsEvent.LOADED_DATA_EVENT)); The event is dispatched and is captured by the parent. But upon performing the validation, some TextInputs always fail the validation. I thought it could be because of a race condition and so I used callLater() with same results. So in the end I am now using a timer to dispatch the event which is not ideal. Does anyone have a solution to this problem. It is really annoying that a timer needs to be used for this scenario.

  • Disable integrated client certificate validation in IIS7?

    - by danford
We have an IIS 7 hosted site that requires client certificates (two-way ssl). Unfortunately, I don't have access to the trusted certificate store on the host machines, and so I was forced to write a custom http module to verify the certificates. My module never gets a chance to do the authentication, however, because IIS doesn't recognize the certificates and responds with a 403.7 error. How do I turn off client certificate validation, while still requiring clients to provide them?

  • How important is sender validation, and what matters?

    - by Charles Stewart
When I started learning how to configure email, SPF existed but there were doubts about whether it was a good thing, and the value of offering SPF records in DNS. Now it seems that it is widely accepted that some form of well-known sender validation is good practice. Is this really true? Am I being a bad postmaster by not supporting SPF/DKIM/whatever?

  • During Spring unit test, data written to db but test not seeing the data

    - by richever
    I wrote a test case that extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests. The single test case I've written creates an instance of class User and attempts to write it to the database using Hibernate. The test code then uses SimpleJdbcTemplate to execute a simple select count(*) from the user table to determine if the user was persisted to the database or not. The test always fails though. I was suspect because in the Spring controller I wrote, the ability to save an instance of User to the db is successful. So I added the Rollback annotation to the unit test and sure enough, the data is written to the database since I can even see it in the appropriate table -- the transaction isn't rolled back when the test case is finished. Here's my test case: @ContextConfiguration(locations = { "classpath:context-daos.xml", "classpath:context-dataSource.xml", "classpath:context-hibernate.xml"}) public class UserDaoTest extends AbstractTransactionalJUnit4SpringContextTests { @Autowired private UserDao userDao; @Test @Rollback(false) public void teseCreateUser() { try { UserModel user = randomUser(); String username = user.getUserName(); long id = userDao.create(user); String query = "select count(*) from public.usr where usr_name = '%s'"; long count = simpleJdbcTemplate.queryForLong(String.format(query, username)); Assert.assertEquals("User with username should be in the db", 1, count); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); Assert.assertNull("testCreateUser: " + e.getMessage()); } } } I think I was remiss by not adding the configuration files. context-hibernate.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd> <bean id="namingStrategy" class="org.springframework.beans.factory.config.FieldRetrievingFactoryBean"> <property name="staticField"> <value>org.hibernate.cfg.ImprovedNamingStrategy.INSTANCE</value> </property> </bean> <bean id="sessionFactory" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.LocalSessionFactoryBean" destroy-method="destroy" scope="singleton"> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="namingStrategy"/> </property> <property name="dataSource" ref="dataSource"/> <property name="mappingResources"> <list> <value>com/company/model/usr.hbm.xml</value> </list> </property> <property name="hibernateProperties"> <props> <prop key="hibernate.dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.PostgreSQLDialect</prop> <prop key="hibernate.show_sql">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.use_sql_comments">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.query.substitutions">yes 'Y', no 'N'</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_query_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_minimal_puts">false</prop> <prop key="hibernate.cache.use_second_level_cache">true</prop> <prop key="hibernate.current_session_context_class">thread</prop> </props> </property> </bean> <bean id="transactionManager" class="org.springframework.orm.hibernate3.HibernateTransactionManager"> <property name="sessionFactory" ref="sessionFactory"/> <property name="nestedTransactionAllowed" value="false" /> </bean> <bean id="transactionInterceptor" class="org.springframework.transaction.interceptor.TransactionInterceptor"> <property name="transactionManager"> <ref local="transactionManager"/> </property> <property name="transactionAttributes"> <props> <prop key="create">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="delete">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="update">PROPAGATION_REQUIRED</prop> <prop key="*">PROPAGATION_SUPPORTS,readOnly</prop> </props> </property> </bean> </beans> context-dataSource.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="dataSource" class="com.mchange.v2.c3p0.ComboPooledDataSource" destroy-method="close"> <property name="driverClass" value="org.postgresql.Driver" /> <property name="jdbcUrl" value="jdbc\:postgresql\://localhost:5432/company_dev" /> <property name="user" value="postgres" /> <property name="password" value="postgres" /> </bean> </beans> context-daos.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <beans xmlns="http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation=" http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans/spring-beans-3.0.xsd"> <bean id="extendedFinderNamingStrategy" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.ExtendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> <bean id="finderIntroductionAdvisor" class="com.company.dao.finder.impl.FinderIntroductionAdvisor"/> <bean id="abstractDaoTarget" class="com.company.dao.impl.GenericDaoHibernateImpl" abstract="true" depends-on="sessionFactory"> <property name="sessionFactory"> <ref bean="sessionFactory"/> </property> <property name="namingStrategy"> <ref bean="extendedFinderNamingStrategy"/> </property> </bean> <bean id="abstractDao" class="org.springframework.aop.framework.ProxyFactoryBean" abstract="true"> <property name="interceptorNames"> <list> <value>transactionInterceptor</value> <value>finderIntroductionAdvisor</value> </list> </property> </bean> <bean id="userDao" parent="abstractDao"> <property name="proxyInterfaces"> <value>com.company.dao.UserDao</value> </property> <property name="target"> <bean parent="abstractDaoTarget"> <constructor-arg> <value>com.company.model.UserModel</value> </constructor-arg> </bean> </property> </bean> </beans> Some of this I've inherited from someone else.   • How do I prevent users from entering a blank value in an Excel sheet?

    - by Tola Odejayi
I want to restrict users to entering either just 0 or 1 in an Excel 2007 sheet. I use the Data Data Validation dialog to do this, but I'm finding that it doesn't stop them from entering blanks. What I would like is for there to be a prompt when they enter blanks, just like the one that appears when they enter any other non-blank data that is not 0 or 1. I plan to fill the sheet with 0s before applying the validation, so there should not be a problem with erroneous data. Also, I'm open to using VBA to fix this problem.

  • XVal validation framework

    - by csetzkorn
Hi, I started using this validation framework: http://blog.stevensanderson.com/2009/01/10/xval-a-validation-framework-for-aspnet-mvc/ Steve mentions that the DataAnnotationsValidationRunner implementation is slightly naive. Why is this and are there better implementations? I am also looking for a good example that uses this framework to validate database dependent business rules. Any pointers would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Christian

  • asp.net mvc mixed validation

    - by maxxxee
Can I use IDataError and service layer validation together? I am using IDataError for my my model. However, I need to check for a condition in my service layer. If the condition is not true I need to give the user a validation message so that user can input new values. Is this possible? Anything I need to take care of when attempting this?

  • MVC Partial View Postback - Jquery validation lost

    - by user415394
I have a partial view which uses Jquery Valiation. This works OK when initially loaded, however after I do a ajax postback and return the partial view from the server with an error showing, the jquery validation seems to be lost. In that, if I delete a required field and hit save the partial view gets submitted, when I would expect it to show an error message and not get submitted. Does Jquery validation need to be initialised somehow for the form in the partial view?

  • When does validation happen in Core Data?

    - by dontWatchMyProfile
From the docs: If you make changes to managed objects associated with a given context, those changes remain local to that context until you commit the changes by sending the context a save: message. At that point—provided that there are no validation errors—the changes are committed to the store. So does that essentially mean, that validation happens automatically as soon as I call -save?

  • How to raise a validation event from a key press

    - by flavour404
Hi, I want to raise the: private void txtbox_startdate_Validating(object sender, System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs e) {} Function from a key leave event. The leave event looks like: private void txtbox_startdate_Leave(object sender, EventArgs e) {} The trouble is of course if I try and call it in this manner: txtbox_startdate_Validating(sender, e) An error is raised because in this case 'e' is an EventArgs whereas the validation function wants a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs and so, how do I convert EventArgs to a System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs or create one so that I can call my validation function? Thanks, R.

  • T4 template for Validation in MVC

    - by GibboK
I'm using ASp.Net MVC and EF 4.3.1. Using POCO t4 template I'm able to create the POCO classes for my model but not validation. At the moment I'm using Partial Classes with MetaData for adding the annotation (leaving intact the POCO auto generated). My question: Could you point me out a tutorial, or show me an example of code or a link to a T4 template the also include automatic VALIDATION for my POCO? THanks

  • Add a custom jquery validation method not connected to a field

    - by Johan Wikström
Normally all validation methods is connected to a field, radiobuttons, dropdowns etc. In my case I would like to do a general custom validation that depends on many fields in my form. I dont want one field of them to become highlighted like a normal "required", i would rather just show a message in the errorcontainer. Is there a simple way to do this I have overlooked?
