  • monkey patching time.time() in python

    - by user84584
Hello guys, I've an application where, for testing, I need to replace the time.time() call with a specific timestamp, I've done that in the past using ruby (code available here: http://github.com/zemariamm/Back-to-Future/blob/master/back_to_future.rb ) However I do not know how to do this using Python. Any hints ? Cheers, Ze Maria

  • Failing to install activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter gem

    - by Phil Sturgeon
I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!). Here is the error log: $ rake db:migrate (in /Users/xxxx/Sites/blog) rake aborted! • How to force reload all vendor/plugins in rails 2.3 (development mode)

    - by tsdbrown
We have an application with a app/model that references another model stored in a plugin. When the app/model level is reloaded on the second and further requests and that relies on our model in vendor/plugins/... (which stays loaded) it fails (can't dup nil class). We've tried setting config.reload_plugins = true in the development.rb but this doesn't seem to do it. Does anybody know a way to handle this?

  • How do I rollback capistrano tasks upon failure?

    - by dchua
In my Capistrano deploy.rb, I have a couple of daemons like delayed_jobs and fetcher, starting and stopping depending on where they are in the deployment process. This method would create problems if a deployment fails, because the daemons wouldn't be managed properly (ie. two processes spawned instead of one, or processes were shutdown without restarting itself until the next deployment). Is there anyway to prevent this from happening like a rollback code? How is deployment of daemons normally done over capistrano?

  • Rails. How to extend controller class from plugin without any modification in controller file?

    - by potapuff
I'm use Rails 2.2.2. Rails manual said, the way to extend controller from plug-in is: Plugin: module Plug def self.included(base) base.extend ClassMethods base.send :include, InstanceMethods base.helper JumpLinksHelper end module InstanceMethods def new_controller_metod ... end end module ClassMethods end end app/controller/name_controller.rb class NameController < ApplicationController include Plug ... end Question: is any way to extend controller from plug-in, without any modification of controller file, if we know controller name.

  • json_pure/rubygems cyclic dependencies

I have an issue when trying to set up rvm, where gems weren't installing due to them being dependent on json_pure. I tried to install json_pure, but rubygems itself seems to depend on json_pure. • json problems with making a ruby on rails application

    - by Prince Merdz
So I'm using Bitnami to learn Ruby on Rails. I have also previously tried the manual installation for ruby and rails and was met by the same problem so I thought I should try first the easy package deal of Bitnami. Anyway my problem with json is that it causes the bundle install to fail. First the auto bundle install that rails new does fails because of an ssl error. Which is easily solved by changing the source in the gemfile which is https to http. However when I try to bundle install it does another error when it tries to install json. • Non-standard routes in Rails

    - by trobrock
I currently have a routes.rb file that looks like this: map.resources :profiles do |profile| profile.resources :projects, :has_many => :tasks end And this gives me routes like this: /profiles/:profile_id/projects/:project_id/tasks This is close to what I want, but instead of the '/profiles/:profile_id/' section I want to just have a username in place of that so the route would look something like: /:profile_user/projects/:project_id/tasks How can I achieve something like this? I have looked all over and haven't found anything about how to do this, but I also might not have been searching for the right thing.
