  • Masked Time control in WPF

    - by Ashish Ashu
We are in need of a control in which we can show the elapsed time in "Hour:Min:Sec" format. This control should have a spin control attached with it. Whenever we spin the spin window, it should increment the selected option ( Either hour, or min , or sec). Also the Hour may have values between 0 to 99 , Min many have values between 0 to 59 and Sec may have values between 0 to 59. Is anybody know this type of control in WPF?

  • Good Silverlight Custom ItemsControl Tutorial

    - by Steve Brouillard
I'm afraid my Google-Foo is failing me again today. I'm trying to find a good tutorial on creating custom ItemsControls in Silverlight (though I imgaine a WPF version might work as well). I'm trying to create a custom ItemsControl that will be something of a virtualized ListBox. What I'm trying to accomplish isn't really similar enough to the current ListBox control to justify trying to modify the existing control, so I figure a custom one is in order here. I have a vague concept of how to accomplish it, but there are definite holes in my understanding. Thanks in advance

  • WPF TextBox SpellChecking Problem

    - by Alex
How can I change the spellchecking language of a WPF textbox to french using XAML? I tried this but it doesn't work. <TextBox AcceptsReturn="true" SpellCheck.IsEnabled="true" FontSize="12" BorderBrush="Blue" Height="100" Language="fr-fr" /> French is supposed to be one of the 4 supported languages for spellchecking in WPF so I don't understand why it doesn't work. I also tried fr-CA but it still won't work.

  • Tree View / File View Control for C#

    - by Jason
I have been looking for a C# tree control for displaying a file system that has the following capabilities: Select a starting directory. I don't always want to start at a "default" top directory level. The ability to grab an event when the user double clicks on a file in the tree. I want to handle opening the file within my application. I have been looking at this C# File Browser. Unfortunately, I have not been able to figure out how to do meet my second need. (If anybody can clear that up for me, I would like that even better.) Thanks for any help.

  • Do I need to use any other attributes other than CssClassProperty to enabled design-time support?

    - by keith
Hi, I'm trying to provide the same design-time support that the CssClass provides on some custom properties of a server control. The documentation suggests that decorating the property with the CssClassProperty is all that's required. [CssClassProperty] public string SomeOtherCssClass{get;set;} This has no effect, in vs2008 or vs2010. I've looked at the WebControl class using reflector and implemented all the attributes, and every combination thereof, to my property and still no class dropdown. Some blog posts suggest that the use of the Editor attribute but a) there's not mention of it in the documentation and b) none of editors which are remotely related to css classes have any effect either. Am I missing something to enable this feature? Thanks in advance, Keith.

  • c# Nested categories (sub-categories) in the form control “property grid”.

    - by Cathering
I'm new to C# and I've been trying to design my own program for a while now. I came a across a control named Property Grid, it suits me perfectly and aftering Googling, I managed to find how to split up the various properties into catagories using attritubtes. But I cannot find any information on adding sub-catagories to another catagory. Can anyone shed light on this subject? Thank you.

  • WPF creating custom control - creating control like SpinBox extending TextBox

    - by veedoo
Hi, What is the best way to extend a control? Lets choose for example SpinBox - we want to extend TextBox to SpinBox - just to add two buttons on the right side, which each one on click checks if Text property is a valid number and if it is increases or decreases the value by 1. Suposse that we have a lot of code using TextBox (Text, IsReadOnly properties and bindings etc.) so we want to replace TextBox by SpinBox without touching rest of the code. 1) we can inherit TextBox - so we have exactly the same interface, but how to add the buttons ?? 2) we can inherit from some layout control - eg. DockPanel - we can add buttons, but we lose TextBox interface. 3) after quick read about ControlTemplates I'm not sure, but I believe that we can add buttons and their logic using ControlTemplates 4) like about templates I'm not sure, but I hope we can inherit decorator class to create decorator with the buttons - we lose interface, but can add TextBox as a child I think that the best solutions is to combine 3) and 4) - create a decorator class and use it in a control template for TextBox. I would be grateful for your ideas and simple code how to implement 3 and 4, especially with code (c#), not xaml. Regards

  • forcing Validation; WPF, DataGrid, ObservableCollection

    - by Steve Mills
I have a WPF DataGrid. I read a csv file and build an ObservableCollection of objects. I set the DataGrid.ItemsSource to the Collection. I would like to then force a RowValidation on every row in the DataGrid. If I, playing user, edit a cell, the RowValidation fires, all is well. But the Validation does not fire on the initial load. Is there some way I can call ??ValidateRow?? on a row? on every row? (C#, WPF, VS2008, etc)

  • VB.NET - 'Title' is not a member of 'Calendar.Appointment'

    - by Daniel
I am having a problem with my code. I am using VB.NET and Visual Studio 2010 to write my program. The source of the control that I am using can be found here. First, I imported the Calendar.DayView.dll file into my toolbox to use as a control. Then I added the following code to my existing code: Private Sub DayView1_NewAppointment(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal args As Calendar.NewAppointmentEventArgs) Dim appointment As New Calendar.Appointment() appointment.StartDate = args.StartDate appointment.EndDate = args.EndDate appointment.Title = args.Title appointments.Add(appointment) End Sub I get this error 'Title' is not a member of 'Calendar.Appointment'. I have no access to the Calendar namespace or the Appointment class. I am able to view the properties of both in the Object Browser but I can't edit any of them. Any suggestions?

And what if I want to load the geometry points from the resource?

  • WPF custom BalloonTips problem with multithreading

    - by Erika
Hi, I have read other related question but i cant really get them to relate to this so I thought it were best to ask, Im pretty new to WPF and so on so please bear with me. I am using this http://www.codeproject.com/KB/WPF/wpf_notifyicon.aspx api to work with custom WPF Windows (in particular FancyBalloon). However, i'm coming across the following problem, I seem unable to start off BalloonTips in a separate thread ( i need this because i'm parsing emails and hence if there are 3 emails for instance, it displays the first email (that works fine), but when it comes to the second email it crashes with a TargetInvocationException , {"Specified element is already the logical child of another element. Disconnect it first."}. Thing is, im supposedly working with the same instance and i have attempted calling it to close it before, disposing it etc but to no avail. (then again if i dispose it, i cant create another instance as apparently WPF UI components must be called from a static thread so throughout the looping of emails + displaying balloon, i am trying to use the same BalloonTip. Any suggestions please? I am really at a loss here and i've been on it for quite a while now :/ I was wondering if there was anyone

  • wpf - window to be tight round user control

    - by Andy Clarke
Hi, I've got a user control that I'm loading into a Window dynamically - I wanted to set the Window so that it didn't have a size and then I thought the window to resize accordingly depending on the UserControl. However it dosn't - can anyone assist please? I've made a very basic example - I've cut out the dynamic bits and just put a UserControl in a Window. What do I need to do to get the window to be tight around the UserControl? Thanks, Andy <UserControl x:Class="WpfApplication1.UserControl1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" Height="300" Width="300" Background="LightBlue"> <Grid> </Grid> </UserControl> <Window x:Class="WpfApplication1.Window1" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" xmlns:WpfApplication1="clr-namespace:WpfApplication1" Title="Window1" > <Grid> <WpfApplication1:UserControl1> </WpfApplication1:UserControl1> </Grid> </Window>

  • Create a grid in WPF as Template programmatically

    - by wickie79
    I want to create a basic user control with a style programmatically. In this style i want to add a Grid (no problem), but i dont can add column definitions to this grid. My example code is ControlTemplate templ = new ControlTemplate(); FrameworkElementFactory mainPanel = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(DockPanel)); mainPanel.SetValue(DockPanel.LastChildFillProperty, true); FrameworkElementFactory headerPanel = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(StackPanel)); headerPanel.SetValue(StackPanel.OrientationProperty, Orientation.Horizontal); headerPanel.SetValue(DockPanel.DockProperty, Dock.Top); mainPanel.AppendChild(headerPanel); FrameworkElementFactory headerImg = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(Image)); headerImg.SetValue(Image.MarginProperty, new Thickness(5)); headerImg.SetValue(Image.HeightProperty, 32d); headerImg.SetBinding(Image.SourceProperty, new Binding("ElementImage") { RelativeSource = new RelativeSource(RelativeSourceMode.TemplatedParent) }); headerPanel.AppendChild(headerImg); FrameworkElementFactory headerTitle = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(TextBlock)); headerTitle.SetValue(TextBlock.FontSizeProperty, 16d); headerTitle.SetValue(TextBlock.VerticalAlignmentProperty, VerticalAlignment.Center); headerTitle.SetBinding(TextBlock.TextProperty, new Binding("Title") { RelativeSource = new RelativeSource(RelativeSourceMode.TemplatedParent) }); headerPanel.AppendChild(headerTitle); FrameworkElementFactory mainGrid = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(Grid)); FrameworkElementFactory c1 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinition)); c1.SetValue(ColumnDefinition.WidthProperty, new GridLength(1, GridUnitType.Star)); FrameworkElementFactory c2 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinition)); c2.SetValue(ColumnDefinition.WidthProperty, new GridLength(1, GridUnitType.Auto)); FrameworkElementFactory c3 = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinition)); c3.SetValue(ColumnDefinition.WidthProperty, new GridLength(3, GridUnitType.Star)); FrameworkElementFactory colDefinitions = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ColumnDefinitionCollection)); colDefinitions.AppendChild(c1); colDefinitions.AppendChild(c2); colDefinitions.AppendChild(c3); mainGrid.AppendChild(colDefinitions); mainPanel.AppendChild(mainGrid); FrameworkElementFactory content = new FrameworkElementFactory(typeof(ContentPresenter)); content.SetBinding(ContentPresenter.ContentProperty, new Binding() { RelativeSource = new RelativeSource(RelativeSourceMode.TemplatedParent), Path = new PropertyPath("Content") }); mainGrid.AppendChild(content); templ.VisualTree = mainPanel; Style mainStyle = new Style(); mainStyle.Setters.Add(new Setter(UserControl.TemplateProperty, templ)); this.Style = mainStyle; But the creation of FrameworkElementFactory with type ColumnDefinitionCollection will throw an exception "'ColumnDefinitionCollection' type must derive from FrameworkElement, FrameworkContentElement, or Visual3D." Who can help me?

  • Binding WPF menu items to WPF Tab Control Items collection

    - by William
I have a WPF Menu and a Tab control. I would like the list of menu items to be generated from the collection of TabItems on my tab control. I am binding my tab control to a collection to generate the TabItems. I have a TabItem style that uses a ContentPresenter to display the TabItem text in a TextBlock. When I bind the tab items to my menu the menu items are blank. I assume the menu items are looking for the Header property of the TabItems which I am not using. Is there a workaround for my scenario? Is it possible to bind to the Header property of the tab item, when I do not know the number of tabs in advance? Below is a copy of my xaml declarations. Tab Control and items: <DataTemplate x:Key="ClosableTabItemTemplate"> <DockPanel HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"> <Button Command="{Binding Path=CloseWorkSpaceCommand}" Content="X" Cursor="Hand" DockPanel.Dock="Right" Focusable="False" FontFamily="Courier" FontSize="9" FontWeight="Bold" Margin="10,1,0,0" Padding="0" VerticalContentAlignment="Bottom" Width="16" Height="16" Background="Red" /> <ContentPresenter HorizontalAlignment="Center" Content="{Binding Path=DisplayName}"> <ContentPresenter.Resources> <Style TargetType="{x:Type TextBlock}"/> </ContentPresenter.Resources> </ContentPresenter> </DockPanel> </DataTemplate> <DataTemplate x:Key="WorkspacesTemplate"> <TabControl IsSynchronizedWithCurrentItem="True" ItemsSource="{Binding}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource ClosableTabItemTemplate}" Margin="10" Background="#4C4C4C"/> </DataTemplate> My Menu <Menu Background="Transparent"> <MenuItem Style="{StaticResource TabMenuButtonStyle}" ItemsSource="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType={x:Type TabControl}}, Path=Items}" ItemContainerStyle="{StaticResource TabMenuItem}"> </MenuItem> </Menu>
