• After upgrading to 12.04 lts server, the mouse is intermittently working

  After this upgrade, I've had a problem with the mouse intermittently working and programs crashing (like zentyal crashing and the error reporting application crashing) I also had an error on the screen that said: "Could not grab your mouse. A malisious client may be eavesdropping on your session or you may have just clicked a menu or some application just decided to get focus. Try again." What's going on with this system? Did I really get malware that quickly? This system has been boxed up since 2011. I only did the upgrade today... In regards to the mouse I can move it around, but when I click on something, it doesn't work.

• External hdd boot entries added to GRUB after upgrade to 13.10

  Long story short, I was using my laptop's internal HDD as an external one on my desktop, and I forgot to remove it when I was upgrading to 13.10. Now GRUB on my desktop has added entries for the Windows and Ubuntu partitions that exist on the laptop's HDD, but I don't want them to be there. Can I safely remove them ? My GRUB table looks like this if I recall correctly: Ubuntu Advanced Options (or something like this) Memtest Another Memtest Entry Windows 7 (loader) on /dev/sda1 Windows 7 (loader) on /dev/sdb1 Ubuntu 13.04 Advanced Options for Ubuntu 13.04 Where Windows 7 (loader) on /dev/sdb1 Ubuntu 13.04 Advanced Options for Ubuntu 13.04 are the entries from the external/laptop's HDD.

• Cant burn the iso file on disc and usb will not startup

  I am having very big problems trying to get this going for my old laptop. I tried burning the iso image with 5 different iso burning programs and none of the disks worked none started up. Then I tried to do the USB way used the program that puts it on the usb for you it starts up on my laptop fine but will not start up on my compaq presario 2178cl. If any1 can help me with this problem I would be much appreciative ty for your time.

  I am trying to track down a game engine for developing mobile games for ios and android. I have been looking for weeks now and havent found what i am looking for. I like jmonkey engine for making desktop games. Its easy to use and it comes with everything you need. Its more that just some libraries. I'm looking for something similar for developing mobile games. I'd like it to be easy to use and have everything included not just a collection of libraries. And I would prefer to write in c++. I'm not looking for "the best". I'm just looking for some engines that match my criteria so I can try them out and see which one works best for me.

• 12.04: I need a new network card - and I think this one may work?

  I found this list of compatible USB wireless network adaptors: http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-usb-wireless-compatibility-adapter-list.html Listed here is the Belkin F5D8053. I'm looking for a store to buy a suitable adaptor in locally and I can't find that particular adaptor - but I can see a Belkin F7D4101az. I think this is simply a newer model - but a Google search for "ubuntu belkin f7d4101az" brings no results - not even people trying to get it to work. Nothing. So I didn't want to purchase it without being sure. • How to run a bootable USB drive as my primary PC for an extended period?

  My hard drive has crashed, and I won't be able to buy a new one for a month or two. I've got a 16GB USB 3.0 flash drive that I'd like to have running a persistent ubuntu or ubuntu gnome distro. While it's not the best solution, is it a solution, or is it just a good way to wear out a flash drive? I plan on mostly storing things in Google Drive, so other than wearing out the flash drive, are there any risks involved?

• Sound not working

  I am new to ubuntu, but really enjoy it. I do have one issue with setting it up on my computer. It is a GoBook XR-1 and everything works perfectly except there is no sound. I've searched and tried everything that I can think of, even uninstalling ubuntu and trying Windows to see if the speakers worked. I found out that it wasn't the speakers or any hardware issues. I tried to download the Realtek drivers, but still no success.

  It occurred to me today that it might be useful to make a list of all the ways to earn money through either actual programming or just programming knowledge. I imagine it's probably a finite list as long as you stick to a reasonable level of granularity. Here's what I have so far: Trading your time for money (i.e. having a job or being a freelancer) Building your own software product (a full-fledged startup or a tiny mobile app or whatever) Giving talks at conferences and meetups Teaching students in a classroom Writing a book or blog (these are products, but non-software products) I've probably missed at least a few. What else is there? (I'm not sure whether this is an appropriate question, by the way. I think I would select the best answer based on how practical/original/interesting/numerous your suggestions are.)

• Clear float issue

  I have a page with the standard navigation bar on the left and the content area taking up the rest of the horizontal area to its side. For modern browsers I am using table-row and table-cell values for the display attribute. However, for IE7 I included a conditional stylesheet that tries to float the nav bar. This works fine except when the content area itself has floated elements and I try to use clear. My goal is to displayed the clear element right after the content area floats but instead it gets shoved down below the nav area. The following demo code shows this issue.   I need a help with setting a random image using setImageResource method. In the drawable folder, I have a jpeg file named photo0.jpg, photo1.jpg...photo99.jpg. And the following code works: int p = R.drawable.photo1; image.setImageResource(p); The above will display photo1.jpg but I want to show a random image. I tried the following but it doesn't work. String a = "R.drawable.photo"; int n = (int) (Math.random()*100) String b = Integer.toString(n); String c = a+b; int p = Integer.parseInt(c);//checkpoint image.setImageResource(p); It seems like the string "R.drawable.photoXX" isn't being changed to integer at the checkpoint.   Hi all, I have created a WCF service and client and all works until it come to catching errors. Specifically I am try to catch the EndpointNotFoundException for when the server happens not to be there for whatever reason, I have tried performing a simple try catch block catching the specific error and the communication exception it derives from and I've tried catching just Exception. None of these succeed in catching the exception, however I do get A first chance exception of type 'System.ServiceModel.EndpointNotFoundException' occurred in System.ServiceModel.dll in the output window when the client tries to open the service. Any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong?

I need the text in each node to word wrap if it's too big (as happens often). I have tried label.wordWrap = true; in my item renderer without any luck. Any other suggestions?
