  • Which keymap to use for wired mac keyboard in Gentoo Linux?

    I just purchase the new wired mac keyboard: Running on Gentoo Linux it works mostly fine. The only problem i am having is the function keys and swapping the alt and command keys to resemble a regular pc keyboard. When I tried switching to the "mac-us" keymap in /etc/conf.d/keymaps I got garbage when typing (not even qwerty). Is there any specific keymap that I can use to get what I want?

    Hi! I'm looking for a free morphing and/or ageing software for Mac OS X.6, not too hard to use, with the kind of Mac "one click" function, if you know what I mean. Cheap programs are also welcome, I paid for a Photoshop license, so why not another software...     I have a Mac Mini with Core Solo 1.5GHz, 512mb RAM, 60gb HDD, etc... I know, it's very old but since it's lying around here, I wanted to bump it up for general usage and some experimental iPhone development. Also, Snow Leopard can't be installed as it doesn't have enough RAM. I browsed around but I'm not sure if this Mac Mini's motherboard accepts a Core2Duo (at least a 2.0GHz). If anyone could inform me which generation of Core2Duo it still accepts, I'd be grateful.

    I've an Seagate 500 GB external HD (NTFS). To read/write it on Mac (OSX 10.6.2) , I've tried MacFUSE and NTFS-3G to write my HD on Mac. Though I could be able to see the hard drive, it takes too long to see the contents like this is this normal ? also the data transfer takes too long time and the hard disk becomes too hot . Any suggestions are most welcome.

    Is there a recommended filesystem to use when sharing an external drive between the Mac and PC? I understand there are options for Macs to read/write NTFS filesystems and also for PCs to read/write HFS+ filesystems. Is there a preferred filesystem or perhaps a different filesystem that both Mac and PC and read/write? I know I could use FAT32 but some of the files I use are larger than 4 GB (i.e. Virtual Machine images)

    Hi I'm a used Ubuntu user on a pc, and I like the french keyboard layout because it allows me to type accentued characters easily. I found a win-fr keyboard layout but it's much like windows and not so good. I found xmodmap.fr keyboard layout and I'd like to know if it was possible use it with my Mac SL 10.6.5, maybe I could do xmodmap xmodmap.fr or a way to convert to mac layout file. Any ideas?!
