    I created Setup project for my Excel add-in project according to the article: Deploying a Visual Studio Tools for the Office System 3.0 Solution for the 2007 Microsoft Office System Using Windows Installer http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc563937(office.12).aspx I add prerequisites such as 2007 Interop assemblies(Office2007PIA) and when I run my setup file it does install it. But the problem is : That my setup ALWAYS installs it even if my computer already has Office2007PIA. How can I configure my setup project that it will first check if Office2007PIA is installed and continue the installation of my project without installing Office2007PIA? Thanks!

  • PyQt4 Need to move DLLs to package root

    Hi Guys, I've used the new installers from http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/software/pyqt/download for Python 2.6 x86_64 and I've a small problem importing PyQt4 in one particular application. Here's the traceback: # ERROR : Traceback (most recent call last): # File "<Script Block >", line 2, in <module> # from PyQt4 import QtCore # ImportError: DLL load failed: The specified procedure could not be found. # - [line 2] This might look familiar. Fun thing is that in a previous version of the 3d software it does work (and from a standard command line), but not in the new software version. I inspected the sys.path (within the app) in order to see if this path was there: C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\bin In both application this path is present. Finally managed to make it works by copying the DLLs from C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4\bin to C:\Python26\Lib\site-packages\PyQt4 Is there any known reason for this? I've a hard time debugging this thing further (making sure everything is 64 bit, path are correct, etc) Thanks for your help

  • LDAP/AD Integrated Group/Membership Management Package suitable for embedding in an application

    In several web applications, it is often necessary to define groups of users for purposes of membership as well as role management. For example, in one of our applications we would like to user a group of "Network Engineers" and another group that consists of "Managers" of such Network Engineers. The information we need is contact details of members of each group. So far, we have written our own tools to allow the administrator of the application to add/delete/move groups and their memberships and either store them in a XML file or a database. Increasingly, companies already have the groups we want defined in LDAP/AD, so it would be best to create a pointer in our application to the correspoding group in LDAP. Although there are a number of LDAP libraries and LDAP browsers available and we could code this and provide a web front end to get a list of available groups and their members, we are wondering if there is already a "component framework" available that would readily provide this LDAP browsing functionality that we could just embed this into our application. Something between a library and a full LDAP browser product ? (To clarify, the use case is for an admin of our web application to create a locally relevant group name and then map it to an exiting LDAP group. To enable this in the UI, we would like to present a way for the admin to browse available groups in the company LDAP server, view their membership, and select the LDAP group they would like to map to the locally relevant group name. In a second step, we would then synchronize the members of that LDAP group and their contact details to a store in our application ) Appreciate any pointers.

    I am planning to use py2exe to make an application developped with Python 2.6. It seems that my app need the VC redistribuables : http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial#Step5 I've read this tutorial and the redistribuables license agreement and I am not sure if I can freely redistribute these files with my program. (I don't have VS2008 license) Can I bundle the redistribs into an installer and make the installation transparent for the user or do they have to download the files by their own from Microsoft website?     First, I ask that you not ask 'why.' In the famous words of Tennyson "Ours is not to reason why. Ours is but to do and die." It's one of those, "This is what you have, deal with it." situations. The source data comes from SSRS report. The goal is to load the data into a database via SSIS. The hopeful goal is to avoid human intervention in having to download the SSRS report into Excel or CSV.     I would like to update one module in a python package with my own version of the module, with the following conditions: I want my updated module to live outside of the original package (either because I don't have access to the package source, or because I want to keep my local modifications in a separate repo, etc).   • importing symbols from python package into caller's namespace

    I have a little internal DSL written in a single Python file that has grown to a point where I would like to split the contents across a number of different directories + files. The new directory structure currently looks like this: dsl/ __init__.py types/ __init__.py type1.py type2.py and each type file contains a class (e.g. Type1). My problem is that I would like to keep the implementation of code that uses this DSL as simple as possible, something like: import dsl x = Type1() ... This means that all of the important symbols should be available directly in the user's namespace. I have tried updating the top-level __init__.py file to import the relevant symbols: from types.type1 import Type1 from types.type2 import Type2 ... print globals() the output shows that the symbols are imported correctly, but they still aren't present in the caller's code (the code that's doing the import dsl). I think that the problem is that the symbols are actually being imported to the 'dsl' namespace. How can I change this so that the classes are also directly available in the caller's namespace?

    Hi All, I want to install gettext but i cannot because my AIX says that gettext is dependent on glib and when i try to install glib it says that I cannot because glib is in turn dependent on gettext.     My source files tree is like this: /src /pkg /foo foo.go foo_test.go Inside foo.go: package foo func bar(n int) { ... } inside foo_test.go: package foo func testBar(t *testing.T) { bar(10) ... } My questions are: Does package name relates to directory name, source file name? If there is only one source file for a package, need I put it in a directory? Should I put foo.go and foo_test.go in the same package? In the foo_test.go, as it's in the same package as foo.go, I didn't import foo. But when I compile foo_test.go with 6g, it says bar() is undefined. What should I do?

    I am new to Java and am making a license generator. This is my current setup. com.example.licensegenerator.client (used by the client application) :LicenseLoader (no Main method) :LicenseDownloader (no Main method) com.example.licensegenerator.server.keys (used by the server) :ProductKeyGenerator(Main method) com.example.licensegenerator.server.license (used on the server also) :LicenseGenerator(Main method) com.example.licensegenerator.lib (Shared classes between client and server) :Contants (no main) Now I have a few questions. Is it OK to have multiple Main() methods in a single project? Will I be able to compile them to different .jar files? (In this case I need two different jars for the server) Is there a better way to setup the packages? And a totally unrelated question, with exceptions, is it better to handle them right then and there or throw them and let the main method catch them all (the program cannot recover if an error occurs)

    I'm looking for a simple (OO?) approach to email creation and sending. Something like $e = Email->new(to => "test <[email protected]>", from => "from <[email protected]>"); $e->plain_text($plain_version); $e->html($html_version); $e->attach_file($some_file_object); I've found Email::MIME::CreateHTML, which looks great in almost every way, except that it does not seem to support file attachments. Also, I'm considering writing these emails to a database and having a cronjob send them at a later date. This means that I would need a $e->as_text() sub to return the entire email, including attachments, as raw text which I could stuff into the db. And so I would then need a way of sending the raw emails - what would be a good way of achieving this? Many thanks

  • Run .exe packaged in .jar

    I am trying to merge 2 programs I have made to one .jar file. One program is a .jar written in java and the second one is an .exe written in c++. I put both files to the new .jar, wrote this code but it didn't work. When this code was exported to .jar and executed neither of 2 files ran and I got error "no main manifest attribute, in merged.jar" in cmd. Though it worked perfectly when run in eclipse. public class main { public static void main(String[] args) { try { Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c project1.jar"); Runtime.getRuntime().exec("cmd /c project2.exe"); } catch(Exception exce) { /*handle exception*/ } } } Any idea how to fix this or is there another way to do it? I am new to java, so can't think of anything good. Maybe it would be possible to drop these files to a temporary location in windows and delete them after they're executed?

    We have a debate going on . a. The "standard" way of assembling a web app. Create a WAR with all our app artifacts and all other components like hibernate and memcached etc are deployed in the tomcat/shared/lib area. b. Create a humongous war with everything included and nothing in tomcat/shared/lib. Pros for a - It keeps things modular and the war is small. Cons for a - dependency on shared/lib has to be managed especially by the deployment process. Pros for b - All dependencies are controlled by the build process removing any room for error. Cons for b - War is really, really big. If you are deploying over a network to a huge farm, then it might have an impact. want to see what thoughts others might have about this.

I have read after installation the libs gets extracted to /data/data/application_package/lib How can I get the exact path to this directory in my application at run time? Is this directory readable by the application? Or is only executeable access allowed? If it is readable - Is this still true for copy protected applications?
